Unfortunately we ordered 12 arborvitae trees last year to be delivered and even paid for planting them last November. In addition, paid extra for top soil. My fiancé and I did everything we could 5 of them not pictured but very dead. We replanted some of them, watered them consistently, and changed soil, added mulch several times. We found our Christmas tree at this farm! Every year, my family and I get a fresh tree but we've always gone to Walmart or Lowe's. We found this farm on yelp and loved that it was so close to us. The prices were very reasonable and there are a ton of trees to choose from. You can either get one chopped down or choose one from the front where they are already bundled and chopped. With his thick accent advising us what the best tree would be, Mike sure puts on a show without even knowing it. The place may seem like it's a bit out of way but it's definitely worth it! We got there when it was dark already so we couldn't go out into the field to peruse but Mike and his son were more than accommodating with suggestions of some pre cut trees that would fit our needs. We settled for a 7 ft Fraser Fir he suggested instead of a 6 ft we originally wanted due to limited selection and I'm glad we did, it filled the room perfectly. You can tell they take pride in what they do and the service is top notch. Extremely friendly and personable, as if they've known you for years. I went to Mikes Tree Farm finally and had a great experience. We picked up an adorable Christmas Tree for my daughter and her boyfriend. I think it was Mike the owner who came right over to us and helped us right away. We didn't have the correct amount of cash for our tree. However, Mike kindly put the tree in my car and trusted us to come back and pay him the rest of the money. We had a few laughs about him allowing this. I come to Mike's every year for my Christams tree. I feel no need to go elsewhere, as I know the fresh trees and excellent customer service cannot be beat. They grown their own trees right there in Cranston, and have another farm about 10 miles away where they bring more onto the lot from. What's truly adorable is they grow and sell these trees right in their back yard! They'll even cut you a fresh one, if you like. You can also come pre-season and tag your still-growing tree. Adorable. This year, we got a 7' Fraser for $55. They cut it, wrapped it and put it in our car for us at no extra expense, and everything was done with such cheer it put me in the Christmas spirit. 2 years in a row and I am extremely happy and excited all over again. This place is a go to when you want to get a real tree , for great prices and sweet people. They also put your tree in the car , or on top for you. The location isn't far which is great , and you don't have to travel very long with a tree. They gave precut trees or a field with trees you can pick from, which is half the fun picking one out. They also cut it down, and shave it down for you. They also tie it up and educate you about the tree. The cashier is also very sweet , she takes care of you and will answer any questions you may have. Mike is such a sweetheart he's older but strong , very strong he takes care of the trees. I won't go anywhere else for a real tree besides this place. It gets packed here so that's a good sign. read more

Mike has premium trees at a reasonable price. Purchased a Fraser Fir which has been great. The needles on the floor are minimal and the smell is amazing everyday. In my opinion what sets Mike's aside is their service. They really try to get you the best tree for you and guaranteed you'll come away with a good laugh or two as well. We were looking for a fresh cut Christmas tree and decided to go with mikes after looking online at farms that were close by. So glad we did!! We arrived close to closing and mike came out and and helped us pick out a beautiful, fresh tree that would fit in our living room. Then he wrapped it up for us and helped load it into our suv. We got it a few days after thanksgiving and it lasted us a week into January before it started losing its needles!! Very friendly service and great trees that last!! The owner went out of his way to tell us the tree we chose in the field was a bad choice - pointed out yellowing and bald spots we didn't notice - and instead brought us to healthier similar trees. This review comes way to late, however, I wanted to make it anyway. Went looking for a small tree this year for the first time around Rhode Island and saw Mike's had the best reviews, and, was near by. We showed up and were initially a bit underwhelmed by the selection. Granted, we were a bit late to getting our tree so that is no fault of Mikes. The girlfriend and I spent about 20-25 mins searching to no avail, when Mike came out to ask if we needed help. We explained what we were looking for, and within minutes, helped us track down the right little tree for our apartment, and, he even cut us a deal on it! Well be back next Christmas season Mike. We've been going to Mike's Tree Farm for a few years now. It's a wonderful family-owned tree farm, which has pre-cut trees that they've grown nearby as well as some "cut your own." Their trees are beautiful - wonderfully shaped, healthy, and last a long time. They have a great selection and Mike has a good eye for helping you pick "the one." Average prices and great service. They will wrap your tree and put it in your car or on your roof, which is helpful. read more

Can't believe this place has been in business since 1984 and I just found out about it!!! The trees are absolutely beautiful and the owners and the people that work there are so friendly.... premium trees to pick from at the lot and then they have a field you can go and pick your own tree and then they will cut it down fresh for you... truly is the best tree we have ever had ...they don't except credit ...cards cash only and it looks like it's in someone's backyard but it is definitely worth the trip... read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. My wife and I have gone to Mike's in the past, but no more. Mike must have woke on the wrong side of the bed this past Saturday. Upon arrival he asked what size tree we were looking for, we said between 7 or 8. So we had an interest in one that was 9 feet but that was with a 18 inch center branch. So basically it was more like a 7 and 1/2. I asked and he said $90.00. I said no, that's okay because I will have to cut that one tall branch to make it look right. Then he said go take a walk in the farm. Wasted time, as there wasn't a tree that I wouldn't be embarrassed to have put up. We walk back up and browse again, at which point he said $90.00 and I will bale it for free. I said, no thank you. We were going to keep looking around at the rest of the trees, at which point he said, " You can go to Henry's." My response, "Oh okay." What did we do? Went to Henry's had free apple cider, picked out a beautiful 8 foot tree they was cut from the farm, and included in the price, was "bale." Go figure, Good Job Mike. Ironically I start to tell my friend about it while my wife and I were with 4 other couples that evening. He ended up getting fired up, because a week ago he went to Mike's. Has a discussion with Mike..Mike sends him to pick one in his shrub farm. Unfortunately, my ge told my friend "Pick a tall one, I will trim the bottom up, Mike takes the chainsaw and hacks away. Needless to say, my friend if so bothered because it is Dead...it won't even take any water. Needles all over. Good Job Mike! I actually would like to thank him to head over to Henry's. We bought our Christmas tree at Mike's this year and it was the worse choice ever. We bought it the first week of December, and now 2 weeks later is dead. For 2 weeks I had to trim the bottom branches because all of the needles had fallen off. I spend more time cleaning the piles of needles off the floor, than enjoying the tree. We've gone to Mike's the last few years and been VERY happy with the choice! Great trees, that have lasted much longer than other people's (or the ones we used to get elsewhere).
