Stopped by here since I had jury duty nearby and the reviews sounded impressive. The employee taking my order was not very knowledgeable and the menu or what beers they offered so things moved very slowly for me and the other patrons. I ended up getting the Albondigas Soup and the Korean BBQ Flatbread. The soup was soo tasty! I honestly loved the flavor and the bread it came with. The flatbread gave me the opposite reaction. I could literally only taste bbq and it was very unpleasant. The bread itself was not crisp and tasted doughy on its own. It's not a good sign when the soup is better than the main dishes.
I've been here 3 times now! They have a cool self-serve station where you can pour your own beer and there are many different options! The food was better than expected! I tried a cider, but mostly had their food. The burger, fries, pozole, and sandwiches were quite tasty! It's kind of a hidden spot by the train station.
Second time here and service is always great. Lots of drink choices from wine to seltzer to kombucha to beer. Food looks amazing! Always a mix of people here families and couples etc. convenient location near Amtrak Santa Fe station. The pours add up quickly. Inside is clean and cool good music and a large tv. Outside patio very comfy and not too loud.
Hidden Craft is tucked away near the metro station and has a really nice ambiance. The service was good, and the food overall was solid. The burgers were huge and very filling. They do fall apart pretty easily, which is expected given how packed they are, but flavor-wise they were a bit on the mild side, so we ended up asking for ranch and BBQ sauce. The Brussels sprouts were the standout. The sauce and texture were amazing, and I would definitely order them again.
I come to this place everytime I am in San Diego. This trip we met Othman, he is very kind and provided wonderful customer service. Food: got the smash burger and it was amazing as always. But came back the next day for lunch and the burger was just okay. QA was hit/miss on this trip but still recommend coming here. Double fried sweet potato are amazing!!! Their side salad is delicious, I like the beets! Beer: who doesn't love the self service try your different beer. Bathroom: Key is by the sushi bar area and it is hot/miss for cleanliness.
Next to the Santa Fe Depot. Trendy, but casual, with over 30 self-serve beer taps. There were also a good variety of games to play with, and a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We ordered craft nachos to start and shared a chicken teriyaki bowl. There were a lot of other dishes that caught our eye, but we were short on time. The staff was friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.
Unfortunately this is not the norm. I stopped in with friends yesterday for happy hour and ordered the Beria fries and also ordered the Carne Asada fries the guy at the counter who's not normal said oh we don't have Carne asada fries. I paused looked at the happy hour menu that has clearly stated they are a menu item - looked back at him and said fine. I'll take the nachos. We're enjoying - while, the nachos are great I see two other tables get Carne asada fries. very disappointed that a rude new staffer was unable to fulfill what is absolutely on their menu, when I said something at checkout the two regulars knew. Exactly who it was and were very apologetic. I will be back to get the carne asada fries :). This review is for the one employee who derailed my normal experience !
One of the perks of having Jury Duty in Downtown San Diego is the many eateries within a quarter mile radius. Hidden Craft is only a block away from SD Superior Courts located at the Santa Fe Transit depot at One America Plaza. If you're riding the trolley, or have business in DT, stop here for some amazing food and drinks! What's great at this place is the drink "buffet". You get a card which you tap onto the screen and just pour your drink yourself. You only pay for how many ounces you pour. My friend and I both had the Cali trio tacos which paired perfectly with the beer, wine , and ciders they had on tap. The tortillas were definitely house made and the salsa was exquisitely fresh- my favorite part of the meal! The fish taco was crisp, the beef brisket was soft, and the spices on the shrimp was a good balance with the diced bell peppers, celery, and jalapeños. Chill vibes with soft melodies playing in the background...Great service, fresh food, and a vast selection of drinks! They also have sushi, grain bowls, burgers, flatbreads- all of which entice you to visit again and try something new!
This place is a real gem, there should be more places like this around town. You pay by the ounce for beers, wine ciders and hard alcohol, they have large tulip glasses if you're looking for more than a small taster glass. They had a large selection of beers to choose from, I chose some of their sour beers and cider and made a couple of beer flights. Everything was tasty and wasn't too expensive at the end of the night. The service was very helpful and we were happy to stop in here to check it out.
What a lovely place. Great service, great food but the winner is you can pour your own beer and pay by the ounce. Pretty cool concept.
They had a decent selection of beers, though quite a few were fairly common for a pay by the ounce setup. The self-serve model made it easy to sample what I wanted, and the ability to pour small 1 and 2 oz samples without committing to a full taster was a nice touch. I also appreciated the quality glassware that elevated the overall experience. The ambiance was relaxed and inviting, with a modern, open layout that made it a comfortable place to hang out for a bit. They also offered cocktails, cider, and wine, which my wife really enjoyed. A solid stop with something for everyone. You don't have to worry about service, as you serve yourself.
Self service beer taps, but they also had a really good red wine and sangria, as well as a Banana Foster cider (that was our dessert). I got the Portobello mushroom burger, which was really really good. You don't even miss the meat. Flavor and texture was perfection. My husband had the birria dip sandwich, which he really enjoyed. The meat was tender and delicious. The food prices are reasonable, but the tap prices were a little high at $1 an ounce. Its really bright and cute inside, and there is an outdoor patio that is clean and nice. Cute spot to try a few things without buying a whole glass of something. Main guy working there was very helpful and pleasant.
Hospitable staff, delicious food, welcoming vibes! It's a perfect lunch or dinner spot while waiting for your train. Their menu contains a variety of appealing options. The steak frites that I had was juicy and flavorful. Quality food at great prices
Bestie made a reservation for a group of us on our first night back in San Diego. She chose Hidden Craft and it was perfect for the occasion. Serve yourself beer, seltzers and some yummy food (healthy options included) and you've got a great time! You order your food at the counter and then pay for the drink by the ounce, I believe. They give you a card to scan at the drink stations and you pay when you're done (at least that's how I remember it, lol). They do offer some healthier options like the Portobello Mushroom Burger, Kale & Quinoa Salad, and Sweet Potato Fries. We had zero issues with the food and my Gyro was very satisfying. I couldn't finish it! Prices are average and the ambiance is very casual. I liked that it wasn't crowded at all the entire time we were there. Although I'm not much of a beer drinker, I would still stop in for some seltzer and good grub! The employees were knowledgeable and friendly, as well. read more
Wow! From the service to the food, everything was top notch!! The service was wonderful! First, you order inside by the cashier. Then you sit wherever you want. They have different varieties of beer you can just go get a glass, tap your credit card and then fill up as much beer as you want! My husband ordered the quinoa bowl with kung pao chicken. It was sooo flavorful and filling! I ordered the lemon salmon roll with soy paper! PHENOMENAL! It was a perfect flavored roll. read more

Service is excellent. Love the flexibility and the variety of self pour options starting @60cents/oz which is good for downtown. The machaca breakfast burrito was not as flavorful as I you would expect in SoCal. The salsa was mid. Try the Blue Cider and the Hard Kombuchas. They are delightful. Oh and there are lots of big tvs with the sound up. Perfect for watching sports. No a/c in 90 degrees is a bit sweaty. They take Inkind payment which can knock a third of your bill Oh, the pistachio sorbet brought it back up to a 5 star read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday in November. The lunch crowd is very busy, and service definitely took a hit. On the service side, the young ladies working that day were totally zoned out. Given the zone out service, the smash burgers were not served hot as they normally are. I don't care for a tepid smash burger. Nonetheless, the burger was tasty. Also, the house side salad was terrific. read more

Reservations made by phone a month in advance. I couldn't make it on OpenTable because we were a group of 10, but it did show up on my account since I gave them my phone number. Fish Tacos - 4 stars Brussels Sprouts with Bacon - 3.5 stars. A bit soggy. $320 for lunch for 10 people. read more
This place has at least 25 craft beers plus a couple of ines and cider all on tap. You pour your own and are charged by the amount you tap. Overall a very positive experience here but a couple of things keep it from being 5 stars. I really liked my salmon Niçoise salad- salmon was cooked just right. The fish tacos were also quite tasty. The manager told us he was going to give us a discount on the fish tacos because they had accidentally made fish. He didn't do that. That would have been fine but he was the one that brought it up so he should've followed through. The other thing that bothered me was I was charged (nominal fee) for just pressing the info button on a beer right next to the one I just tapped. My favorite beer was the Hidden Assassin. It is a strong one so you have to pace yourself. read more

Situated between the tracks with a colorful outside space, Hidden Craft gives off good vibes to stop in, grab a bite and taste test to your heart's desire. I got the Veggie burger with a house salad which was absolutely delicious. No matter your entree, get the house salad! The staff was friendly and attentive. read more

Popped in here for lunch. Staff was friendly and welcoming. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Inside was a little muggy, so we sat on the patio. I had the BACON & BRIE BURGER (Ground beef brisket short rib patty, beer glazed bacon, caramaized onions, brio cheese, house spread on a brioche burger bun) with sweet potato fries (delicious!) and a fountain drink. I ordered my burger well done and as you see... it was not made well done. read more

This is a great spot to sit and enjoy good company with great drinks and a relaxing atmosphere. The patio is also great if you have a dog and need somewhere to stop for a drink. The self pour wall is convenient and easy to use but they have really friendly people standing by to help, if you need it. read more

This is a very nice, modern, hip and trendy spot that I was lucky enough to stumble across. It is located behind the city's train hub and there is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. They have a modest inside dining area with a bunch of craft beer on self serve taps in the back of the dining area. The patio is enclosed, so that you don't have people walking by watching you eat. It is an awesome area and has some nice tables and chairs. There are also some propane heaters for those chilly days. You will also find a lounge area out there with some really comfortable chairs and a television. In addition to their extensive beer selection, they serve typical American pub fare including soups, salads, burgers, BLTs, bowls, flatbreads, tacos, steak, fish and chips and a small dessert selection. They do not have table service. You place your order at the counter and they will bring your food out to you. The staff there was very friendly, attentive and helpful. They really enhanced my experience there. I ordered the fish and chips. I sat out on the patio. My food was brought to me in about 10 minutes. It was fresh hot and delicious. The fish was well cooked, tender, and flavorful. The tartar sauce that came with it tasted homemade and was really good. It did have a little kick to it though. In addition to the fries, my meal also came with some delicious steamed green beans. Mmmmmmm. There was a ton of food. I was definitely full after I was done. I really enjoyed my lunch here. They have some very delicious food, first class service and staff, and a hip and smooth vibe. I highly recommend checking this place out. read more
Hidden Craft is a hidden GEM! Let me tell you their vibes, their food, their service all incredible. We were shook by how good their food is and continued eating until we were in pain (their fries are some of the best I've ever had!! Both types!). They also have such a cool beer system where you can try out all their beers and pay by the ounces you pour, it was almost like a self serve yogurt shop but for beer. So unique, so cool and definitely makes me want to go back. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, half a star off only for the location bc it's directly next to the trolley station, but that shouldn't hold you back from trying it. read more
