Stopped by here since I had jury duty nearby and the reviews sounded impressive. The employee taking my order was not very knowledgeable and the menu or what beers they offered so things moved very slowly for me and the other patrons. I ended up getting the Albondigas Soup and the Korean BBQ Flatbread. The soup was soo tasty! I honestly loved the flavor and the bread it came with. The flatbread gave me the opposite reaction. I could literally only taste bbq and it was very unpleasant. The bread itself was not crisp and tasted doughy on its own. It's not a good sign when the soup is better than the main dishes. read more

Great spot for lunch or afterwork snacks. My favorites are the pozole, chicken tortilla soup, and bbq burger. The portions are on the larger side so easy to split and share with others. There is a nice outdoor patio space that is covered. However, it is right next to the trolley tracks so just be aware. Unfortunately this is not the norm. I stopped in with friends yesterday for happy hour and ordered the Beria fries and also ordered the Carne Asada fries the guy at the counter who's not normal said oh we don't have Carne asada fries. I paused looked at the happy hour menu that has clearly stated they are a menu item - looked back at him and said fine. I'll take the nachos. We're enjoying - while, the nachos are great I see two other tables get Carne asada fries. very disappointed that a rude new staffer was unable to fulfill what is absolutely on their menu, when I said something at checkout the two regulars knew. Hidden Craft is only a block away from SD Superior Courts located at the Santa Fe Transit depot at One America Plaza. You get a card which you tap onto the screen and just pour your drink yourself. You only pay for how many ounces you pour. My friend and I both had the Cali trio tacos which paired perfectly with the beer, wine , and ciders they had on tap. The tortillas were definitely house made and the salsa was exquisitely fresh- my favorite part of the meal! The fish taco was crisp, the beef brisket was soft, and the spices on the shrimp was a good balance with the diced bell peppers, celery, and jalapeños. This place is a real gem, there should be more places like this around town. You pay by the ounce for beers, wine ciders and hard alcohol, they have large tulip glasses if you're looking for more than a small taster glass. They had a large selection of beers to choose from, I chose some of their sour beers and cider and made a couple of beer flights. The meat was tender and delicious. The food prices are reasonable, but the tap prices were a little high at $1 an ounce. This place has at least 25 craft beers plus a couple of ines and cider all on tap. You pour your own and are charged by the amount you tap. Overall a very positive experience here but a couple of things keep it from being 5 stars. I really liked my salmon Niçoise salad- salmon was cooked just right. The fish tacos were also quite tasty. The manager told us he was going to give us a discount on the fish tacos because they had accidentally made fish. He didn't do that. That would have been fine but he was the one that brought it up so he should've followed through. The other thing that bothered me was I was charged (nominal fee) for just pressing the info button on a beer right next to the one I just tapped. My favorite beer was the Hidden Assassin. This is a very nice, modern, hip and trendy spot that I was lucky enough to stumble across. It is located behind the city's train hub and there is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. They have a modest inside dining area with a bunch of craft beer on self serve taps in the back of the dining area. The patio is enclosed, so that you don't have people walking by watching you eat. It is an awesome area and has some nice tables and chairs. There are also some propane heaters for those chilly days. You will also find a lounge area out there with some really comfortable chairs and a television. In addition to their extensive beer selection, they serve typical American pub fare including soups, salads, burgers, BLTs, bowls, flatbreads, tacos, steak, fish and chips and a small dessert selection. They do not have table service. You place your order at the counter and they will bring your food out to you. The staff there was very friendly, attentive and helpful. They really enhanced my experience there. I ordered the fish and chips. I sat out on the patio. My food was brought to me in about 10 minutes. It was fresh hot and delicious. The fish was well cooked, tender, and flavorful. The tartar sauce that came with it tasted homemade and was really good. It did have a little kick to it though. In addition to the fries, my meal also came with some delicious steamed green beans. Mmmmmmm. There was a ton of food. I was definitely full after I was done. I really enjoyed my lunch here. We were shook by how good their food is and continued eating until we were in pain (their fries are some of the best I've ever had!! Both types!). They also have such a cool beer system where you can try out all their beers and pay by the ounces you pour, it was almost like a self serve yogurt shop but for beer. So unique, so cool and definitely makes me want to go back. We walked in here off the street seeing that they were playing a World Cup game and figured we'd pop in for lunch and a couple drinks. We walked in and nobody was around to seat us so we figured we'd settle ourselves in the patio area. There were two groups out here and a server had entered the patio area couple times and saw us but didn't speak to us. We assumed they were preoccupied and waited. 15 minutes passed and we weren't spoken to, handed menus, offered water - nothing! At one point I stood to look into the restaurant and two servers were chatting and we were in their line of sight! We stood up to leave but hovered for a minute in case they noticed so they would come to us but they just stared. We turned and left.
