Hidden cafe is a hidden gem!! Nestled at the bottom of the grade you'd never know it was here. Thankfully by word of mouth we caught wind of this place and decided it was perfect timing on our way south to stop in. If your reading this and love authentic loco moco then this is your stop to catch that vibe until your back on the island! Hit it up with the deluxe for the beef patty, spam and sausage. Very disappointed with my visit to the hidden Café this morning I have been here twice and both times were very pleasant experiences this time however, when we got there at 945am we put our name in for seven. The lady asked me if my whole party was there and I said no and she said that's OK because they were getting an area ready, she came out and asked if our party was here 15 minutes later and we said yes they literally just pulled into the parking lot. 15 minutes after that and after everyone else had been seated (even people that showed up after us) we walked in and asked is our table ready yet? She asked us if our party was there again and we said yes, remember we told you that they were pulling into the parking lot the last time you asked us and she looked me dead in the eye and said that's a lie, that's number one. So 30 minutes after we got there we were seated but telling me that I lied to you about my party being there. Got it. The next instance isn't that bad but still kind of annoying we were five adults and two kids and when placing our order my mother asked if she can get the adult eggs Benedict and then a kids strawberry waffle because she didn't want the full order. They would not allow her to do it because she was over 12 years old she's a 69 year old lady I understand there are rules and policies but when you're about to receive $180 breakfast order you think you can let a little thing like that slide again not the biggest annoyance but kind of frustrating. The food has always been really good the last couple times that I've been there. However, every single person's dish had eggs that were cooked extremely hard not one runny yolk in the 12 that came to the table and everything just seemed a little bit downgraded from previous experiences as far as the food quality. Lastly for a party of seven they added a 20% gratuity without an option to change it. I understand on parties of 10 or more that this is a normal thing but at a breakfast joint with a family of seven is absolutely ridiculous but the fact that the lady told us that we lied to her further cemented the fact that I will never come back here and give them my patronage ever again. Sincerely, a very disappointed paying customer that recommended this place to a number of people that will never be a customer again and I will never recommend this place to anybody. read more

Off the beaten path and is a discovery, perhaps a destination. Very busy at lunch time. Not a place to visit if you are in a hurry. Service is slow, good restaurant to visit with friends while waiting for your lunch Or breakfast. I have gone there more than 10 times and I would rate the food as average. Been several times and can conclude that the service is slow and inefficient. Have had my name overlooked twice during busy mornings even though I've sat directly outside their front door waiting for my name to be called. Ambiance is crowded and difficult. Tables aren't level and rock causing drinks to spill and plates to move if you aren't mindful. Food quality is nothing special as I've had several items on the menu and all have seemed to be bland. One of my favorite local breakfast places. It's unfortunate but also probably good, that it's off the beaten path - I sometimes forget about it but always get a seat with minimal waiting. Love that they are one of the few places that serve Portuguese sausage and a Hawaiian breakfast favorite, Loco moco. I always get the deluxe because I love the spam also. This time I took a chance and asked if they had Furikake and the server brought me her personal bottle. Their staff always so friendly and helpful. Their food is delicious and I'm never disappointed. Also, I ordered a mimosa, and did not come in your typical champagne glass but came a nice Pilsner glass/size. I recommend the Mango flavor and a cinnamon roll to go! I failed understand what all the excitement is about. The food is often greasy and nothing special. The service is terrible, and the employees act like you're doing a favor ambience what ambience the outside smoking area allow smoke to drift back through into the small crowded booth space inside recently. I took my daughter, we walked in sat down and she got up and walked out because it was too smoky. I've been five or six times and won't go back. read more

The breakfast, 1 Jojo and 1 classic Benedict had major flaws. Jojo's potatoes were mostly so hard, it was difficult to even bite and the pancakes were so rubbery, they were difficult to cut. Delicious breakfast!! This place offers authentic Hawaiian style specialties - we were skeptical at first but this place does NOT disappoint! They are busy for a reason: the food is good! This place is 'hidden' but not hard to find - and parking was plentiful. Came here as a group of 5 adults and one child and waited for a table inside their covered patio. They offer a good selection of kids meals and crayons to keep them busy - kid friendly! Huge menu which made it hard to decide. The family ordered a variety of items from loco moco, chicken fried steak (beef), chicken chicken fried steak (chicken), and pancakes with strawberries. Although the service is very friendly, we've had several different team members forget key things: place settings, part of the order, and napkins - some of us got our side of pancakes at the end of the meal (they offered to pack it to go) and my nephew waited over 10 mins for a fork (requested by 2 different team members) and ended up eating his pancakes with a knife lol But the coffee was always flowing - they consistently came around to refill! read more

I was really excited to try this place based off of referrals, but I'm sad to say I'm not crazy about it. The service was pretty slow but the girls were nice. It is a cute location with patio or inside seating. The hollandaise sauce on Garden Benedict was very thin & pretty flavorless. There was hardly any hash browns (which were also pretty dull). A hidden gem indeed. An out of town friend was visiting so we met up for breakfast to catch up. Our original plan was to go to the cafe at the airport, but the wait was nearly an hour so we needed a plan b stat. That's how we ended up here. It wasn't too crowded when we got there. We did however have to wait a little bit so a table could be cleared in the patio. I knew exactly what I wanted as soon as I opened the menu. I saw they had steak and they had benedict so my friend and I immediately thought why not have a steak benedict. Best. Decision. Ever. The egg was perfectly cooked. We both asked for our steak to be cooked medium rare. The combo was beyond delicious. Even the fat tasted better than norm. It had that bbq kick. The reason I'm taking one star away is because the steak was cooked more medium well than medium rare. Also, I ordered a shake and it didn't come until my friend reminded them that I still didn't have it. Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Hopefully, service is more alert. read more

My husband took me here for breakfast one morning and it was amazing! Service was fast and friendly. I got an omelette loaded with cheese, avocado, olives, onion, tomato, sour cream with a side of hash browns and sourdough toast. The flavor was spot on! I'm definitely not a fan of tomatoes or olives so that says a lot. By the time we were done my plate was completely cleaned. Ha.. needless to say we'll be returning very soon! Only downside was the parking. Like most places, you might have to park a lil farther but it's definitely worth walking it off when you've devoured a large plate of food. read more

Potatoes with peppers delish. My gf ordered "homemade corned beef hash". Couldnt resist the curiosity on what 'homemade' suggested for corned beef hash...Holy crap we were not to be disappointed. Maybe were just inexperienced when it comes to hash but i had never had corned beef hash like this before. Literally they took shredded house cooked corned beef, and pattied it with tiny cubed of potatoes and made a croquet with it. So cripsy on the outside, such fresh abundant corned beef! Life changed.
