Visited on a Wednesday night and it took 45 minutes to receive my drink, and it was the wrong drink. Staff never checked in on us during the long wait and also said the incorrectly served drink would be free, but still charged for it

We came by after having dinner at the restaurant (Norigami). The drinks are delicious & the menu offered is the same as in the restaurant. It's louder though bc of the music. Kitchen closes at 10:45. They also have a happy hour from 3-6 pm Tue-Fri & all day Sun & Mon. The ceiling is amazing.. completely covered in paper cranes!

What a cool speakeasy!! The ambiance is fun and it was well decorated for Valentine's Day. The ceiling is covered in hanging origami cranes, which was so cool. The service was also pretty good. We were checked on often and helped with selections. All drinks were good except the Thai chili ginger margarita. It didn't taste like ginger at all and was extremely sour. Painkiller was delicious, as was the espresso martini and the Yamaneko

Small bar with awesome drinks, ambience and almost a "club" vibe. The DJ is awesome. The bartenders are also fun and upbeat. Drinks are moderately priced and soooo well made. Loved the concept of all the origami floating above the bar and the pretty feminine flowers also in the sitting area. This bar can probably seat 25 ppl comfortably so grab a seat when possible. Me and my friend had so much fun and would be back!

Why this place doesn't have more reviews is beyond me. It's hopp'n. And it's not that hidden. Which I somewhat appreciate because I can come here whenever I'm solo but also, I think they can amp up their prestige by making it harder to get into. Hamachi crudo - phenomenal. Perfectly sliced and the flavors are amazing. A bit pricey but .. it's solid! Wished I was a bit more hungry and had a bigger wallet so I could try more. Drinks: Everything I was looking for in a cocktail - Flavors that you simple just can't make at home. Come. You won't be disappointed. Service from Brandon, Paul, Andrew, Thomas, and Ken were top notch. Would love to meet the brains behind these cocktails - Hao. PS. Is anyone even Japanese here? It was bomb. Doesn't matter. Bathroom has a remote. Push the button that says flush. It's not that hard.

came here on Friday night around 8pm, & the vibes were great! The DJ was so amazing and had all the vibes going. A little bit of the popular Afrobeats and R&B/soul and old R&B vibes going, and played some songs from Renaissance by Beyonce I was in music heaven because I am a sucker for a good playlist. The lychee martini was good but not strong so I decided to go for a vesper martini for my second round which was obviously more liquor. I was very comfortable with my friend and we had a great time! This is such a lovely and intimate speakeasy and I love that parking is so easy! Can't wait to return

One thing about me, I love a good speakeasy. I did not know this place even existed until we were looking for a cocktail bar while in the area. The name is very fitting as it is hidden beind a door that blends into the wall of the Japanese restaurant Norigami. It is located in a shopping strip in West U so parking was pretty plentiful when we arrived in the evening. Their website states no reservations are needed for Hidden Bar, but when we walked into Norigami, they did ask if we had one. When we stated we didn't have one, they said no problem and lead us through the hidden door. What we walked into was small, but beautiful space with dim lighting and different origami covering every inch of the ceiling. There was also a dedicated, closed off glass case with a wall of expensive champagne as well. Seating is pretty limited with some seating at the bar and some seating off to the side. If you're rolling in deep, you might have a hard time finding seats together. We came at the right time and were able to find some seating easily. You can either order at the bar or order with a server. Customer service was excellent. We knew coming in we were going to be in and out so we made that one drink count. We studied the pretty extensive menu twice over to make the right decision. They have their own specialty cocktails along with the classics. They also have a pretty nice list sake, beer, wine, mocktails and different spirits. The drink that stood out to me was the Periscope. It was gin drink with elderflower, lemon, lime and egg whites. This drink was not only pretty to look at, but it was absolutely delicious. All the flavors worked in perfect harmony and the egg whites gave it this nice, velvety mouth feel. It was also very refreshing. All my friends got a variety of drinks that all had completely different looks and tastes. I tried every drink and they were all just as good as mine. I was kind of sad that we had to take off so quick because this place was a whole vibe. The music was on point and the drinks were delicious. The bathrooms are a trip to with mirrored doors and fancy toilets that have a remote. I'll be back for all of it sooner rather than later.

Hidden Bar has got the vibes but the service was lacking. The bar is located inside of Origami restaurant through an unmarked door panel just to the right as you walk in. Upon entering the bar, guests are immersed in a sexy, sophisticated cocktail lounge with low lighting, and a canopy of dedicate paper cranes on the ceiling. There's several small tables and also a number of spots at the bar. Thursday evenings starting at 9pm is reverse happy hour with a DJ, $9 cocktails and 25% off sake and wine. I checked my receipt and unfortunately this special was not applied. Maybe because of this special or perhaps the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, the bar was quite busy when we arrived. We found a spot to stand at the bar to place our drink order and began to wait. And wait. And wait. 45 minutes later one of the bartenders finally took our order. Once our order was in, you guessed it, it took even longer to get our drinks. We almost got to the point of just walking out. On this night there were only two bartenders and a bar back. I noticed that one of the bartenders really struggled to move quickly, struggling to prepare garnishes and to remember which cup was which when preparing multiple drinks at the same time. There were also multiple times that the bartender had to leave from behind the bar to walk drinks over to people at tables. Hidden Bar does have food options on their menu which seem to come from the Origami side and likewise, it seems like Origami guests can order cocktails that come from Hidden Bar. They might want to reconsider this as it diminishes the exclusivity of each business and reduces the efficiency of their staff on each side. I would also suggest that they consider adding a third bartender and a waitress to assist with taking drinks to tables rather than have the bartender take on this responsibility. They might be able to take a few other steps to help their bartenders handle high order volumes like prepare garnishes in advance. In the end, the drinks were good but the service was just such a let down.

Loved the Hidden bar! They have the best drinks, music and vibes. The bartenders were very nice and accommodating. The atmosphere is nice for an after dinner drink or a small group night out. 10/10

I finally got a chance to order the food: The Uni (hokkaido) and it was delicious!!! They also offer Santa Baraba Uni, so we got the opportunity to choose. I think it was 2 pieces of nigiri per order and we thoroughly enjoyed. And as always, the drinks were phenomenal.

We were out to dinner in Rice Village looking for a fun night cap when we saw Hidden Bar on Apple Maps. It's hidden inside of Noragami restaurant. It was poppin for a Thursday night and the DJ was playing great tunes! Cocktails were tasty and we ordered very generous caviar bumps. We took a few bartender recommended shots that were delicious. The bartenders were so nice and had great taste. I will absolutely be back for another night here. Great time. I can attest that you can leave your car overnight in their parking lot if you have too good of a time

Hidden Bar makes some of the best cocktails in Houston. They have a pretty creative menu that could appeal to all tastes. There are some small appetizers but you're definitely coming here for the drinks. This place is great for a date night or with a small group of friends. It is a speakeasy vibe and the seating is limited so I would suggest trying to go before or after the peak rush time. There are sofas against one wall and seats at the bar and 1 tv where they are typically showing one of the games. The music is great (chill R&B and hip hop). The bartenders are great! The last time I went, Paul mentioned that he was leaving soon but he might be one of the best bartenders that I have experienced. He is knowledgeable and creative. I would highly recommend this spot before or after dinner with a small group of people.

We came for some pre-dinner snacks and drinks when they opened at 3 PM. We ordered the otoro sashimi, yellowtail crudo, and the shrimp skewers. The sashimi and crudo were our favs! Everything was really fresh and the otoro sashimi just melted in our mouths. The service was excellent-shot out to Ronnie for being so awesome! Ambiance was really nice too! I liked all the origami as decor. We will def be back!

An entire presentation for this one drink.

The lighting is dark, intimate, and behind every level and door, there is something else going on. There is an element of discovery in every corner and a new adventure on every floor. Ever watch the movie Tron? There are some areas of BCD that feel incredibly futuristic with neon-lit interiors and a legitimate sci-fi feel in some areas. The areas are ass follows: The main bar with a DJ and a spacious dance floor, the red room with a visualizer setup of big bass and pulsating lights, the gold room with a speakeasy feel and a curated cocktail menu, with the secret room that is a unique space behind a certain set of doors. Most of the music on the main bar is good, the DJs are energetic, and the bartenders are efficient while professional. It's not the easiest place to photograph anything, but the different (hidden) spaces make it a worthy destination for discovery. The one area that I don't love is that they rock automatic gratuity. I do love how diverse the crowd is on the weekends, which is a testament to the city. Drinks are solid, but the speakeasy drinks are the ones that stand out the most. The latter definitely comes at a price, but beware that some drinks may have all the presence but not enough of the substance. __________ My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/behind-closed-doors-houston?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

Cool view out of the single window to the city below. Let's get to the drinks and service. Apparently, it was a newer menu and many of the drinks we were told about were no longer listed. The server was very strange and off-putting. She didn't do the best job describing the drinks at all and kept calling us "my babies". Four full grown adults being referred to as "babies" by a woman our age or younger was just weird and she did it a lot too. No one liked it. The drink I got was extremely overpriced and came in a tea cup- not my cup of tea. My friend asked for something creative using tequila and pineapple- she said "sure, we can make that. Do you prefer 1942 or clase azul?" I stepped in. I know you have more tequilas than your two most expensive options. Of course they did and she gave him more realistic options to mix with. Had I not stepped in, she would have taken advantage of him. None of us were impressed by the drinks, the prices or the service. None of the fun and fancy drinks were shown to us nor seen throughout the bar or other tables. No smoke, no big bubbles being popped, no treasure chest with a drink in lol This was an expensive let down. We do a ton of high end and expensive dinners and bars. Its no longer enough to just go listen to a good DJ and buy drinks from the bar. These greedy club owners all want everything to be bottle service just to give you a sub par experience. I came here with 7 white people, I was the only black person in our group. We walked straight in no line and immediatly went to the bar where someone in the group ordered a round of drinks and someone else ordered a round of shots. We enjoyed the music a bit and someone else orders another round of drinks. My point is, we were spending money in this place. At some point someone figures out that the upstairs, which is sometimes roped off for private events was open and there was no one up there and the bar was open. Being a group of 8 we migrated there for more space and settled into one of the lounge areas with a coffee table and sofas. There was no bouncer standing at the stairs, no rope, nothing. We just walked straight in. Up here we ordered another round of drinks and another round of shots in 30 minutes. By this time other patrons noticed us move to this area so people from downstairs were now filing in and some had sat at the other lounge area adjacent to us (all black people). We were enjoying the music and drinks when a bouncer comes up and tells someone in my party that if we wanted to sit there we had to buy a bottle for $1000 or said we would have to leave the lounge area. Now since when does a standard bottle of liquor for a section cost $1000 in Houston?! This is not Miami, who do you think you're talking to? Moreover, why was our group singled out and asked to purchase a bottke but the other lounge area with all black patrons were left alone? I straight up asksed the bouncer if he was asking the other area to buy a $1000 bottle and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "I dont make the rules" whatever that means. To make matters worse one of my friends was actually about to buy a bottle until I stepped in. I was tipsy but not so tipsy that I would let my friend be strongarmed by there unfair business practices. Literally the collective amount of drinks in everyones hands upstairs didnt add up to $1000 but you want to single us out for one $1000 bottle? I'll never step foot in this place again and will be looking into filing a formal compaint with the appropraite governing body about what took place.

We went to the upstairs area which was dimly lit and played 80s/90s hip hop. We tried few drinks. Lion's mane tail, brown butter washed whisky, mushroom (which I found so unique). It was quite strong and was nice to switch up from the usual old fashions we try. Second drink was sharp turn. It was super fresh and crisp. Clear as water but I definitely felt it. Service was really good here too. I like that the bartenders all create their signature seasonal drinks so they genuinely are so well versed when describing the drink menu.

I thought that the catch 22 ( mocktail) would be too sweet or vinegar forward but it was tangy and light. My husband actually said he liked my mocktail more than he liked his cocktail which was good but a bit sweeter than he likes. The second mocktail I ordered was off the menu. I asked for something tropical and not too sweet. It was pretty good but not as complex as the catch 22. My husband liked the jaded merchant better than the dew drop. He also was sipping far too much of my mocktail which speaks volumes about how good it was. Love the moody vibes, drinks, and service. I've only visited three times but should make it one of the places we come to more often.
