For a Sunday around noon this place was packed. Special was Fried chicken with 3 sides for $10.99 We opted for breakfast. After looking over salad bar which is mostly prepared salads (potato salad, pasta salads). Big bowl of lettuce with a few toppings, nothing special. I ordered 1 pancake with fried egg on top. Nice size pancake and they have sugar free syrup to accommodate my request. Enjoyed my pancake that took over the plate. Mom ordered 2 egg breakfast came with hash browns, 3 slices of bacon and toast. Food is good and servers friendly. Coffee is just okay and only offer packets of powder creamer. A great comfortable cozy small-town diner/café. Today's special, meat loaf. A meal I loathe, but my wife loves the stuff. It was a big chunk on the plate with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, green beans a dinner roll and one trip to the salad bar. A great little salad bar. Instant mashed potatoes, and gravy, green beans with bacon and onion, all just like home cooking. I had an excellent deluxe hamburger with the big five LTPO&M. (Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle Onion and Mustard NOT Mayonnaise) Be careful here, they will put mayo on your burger unless you specify. Fresh toppings, crispy fries. Great service! Came in on a Friday around 11:30 ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. The Bacon Cheeseburger was fine not the greatest ever. However, the fries are some of the best I have had. They were warm and crispy and highly recommend a large order of fries if you ever come in and order. Some of the tables inside are blocked to help with social distancing which is good. Spotted in here for lunch with my girlfriend. I ended up getting breakfast (Spanish omelette) and she the hamburger royal with trip to the salad bar. The food was typical in the best way possible. Stopped here while looking for properties around the area. Cafe style inside, Salad buffet with soup of day. Liked the music selection. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. Wait time was acceptable and seating was roomy. We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak plate which came with one trip to salad bar. Steak was hand breaded and good. Salad bar was wonderful. I'm not sure where this brisket came from but it wasn't smoked at this place unless someone waved a cigarette over it. It was fatty & overcooked. Bologna was at least edible. Baked beans were dried out & the potato salad was mashed potatoes with a sparse signs of dill pickle relish. They must have waited until half the stuffing fell out of the booth seats to patch the holes in them with duct tape. I wouldn't eat there again if they paid me. Do yourself a favor and keep driving. The atmosphere is Olde Town Casual Rustic, a little heavy on the wear but that is because they are always packed with folk from all over this part of the Country. Place is filled with a lot of History if you've lived here any time at all you know the Regulars. There is always a daily Special and Friday's are known for the All You Can Eat Catfish. Was making a delivery to Tulsa from Wichita-saw this place on Yelp. If you are coming from the North Cleveland OK is not too far East of the Cimmarron turnpike. It is worth the 8 mile drive to eat there- dont be put off by the exterior or the slightly worn interior- I looked at the menu and when I am on the road I try to keep from loading up on carbs so had the unlimited salad bar and soup-it was over 90 degrees out but when I saw that homemade soup I knew this place was the real deal- rarely see potatoe soup made like that anymore-chunks of tender potatoes simmered in their own broth with onions celery and milk or maybe half&half with about a half inch of butter on top-was thin consistancy like it should be so you can add crackers to soak up the juice-delicious! Also they had very dense squares of homemade bread pudding with eggs sugar raisins maybe lil cinnamon that could be picked up with your hands-very rare to find people make homemade bread pudding. The salad bar was small but good they also had homemade tabouli-very good and unusual to find. My tab came to $8.75 with hot coffee which was quite reasonable considering I could have unlimited soup etc etc.I notice they are open at 5 am for breakfast-and pretty sure the rest of the menu items are probanly good too-I will definitely stop there when headed to Tulsa its kind of a throwback to an era of time when people actually cooked and served homemade food- places like this are fast disappearing I am afraid read more
