My wife and i enjoyed our first visit to Hibachi King. Japanese style grilled meats and fried rice, street style tacos and southern hospitality. We shared the steak hibachi with rice and grilled vegetables, chicken fried rice and the 8 piece jumbo wings. The wings came with ranch dressing, the steak hibachi and chicken fried rice came with a choice of yum yum sauce or teriyaki, we got one of each and enjoyed them both. I got the half order of steak. We had plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. We will have to try other items on the menu. We enjoyed visiting with the guy that waited on us.....great food and friendly service.

I went for a very late lunch with friends - I have driven by this restaurant and wanted to give it a shot. The manager was the attendant at this time and let us seat wherever we preferred. I immediately noticed a few Big Screen TVs tuned to sports (thinking that this could be an interesting spot for afternoon visit to watch the A&M game, or maybe not - speaking to you QB Marcel Reed!). Music was playing in the background, a bit loud for me. The restaurant has a full bar with special drinks. Did not quite understand the menu so the manager explained it to us - not complicated. We settled on 3 full orders with no appetizers - although I would like to try several of them. All come with fried rice and sauteed veggies. We added in a side of broccoli to two of the orders which was a good move as it was particularly good. We were in no rush, in fact after our lunch we sat around chit-chatting for about 15 minutes. Our order came out in about 15 minutes - cooked to order. It looked good and we tried each other's food. All three were good. A side sauce was available, and we tried only one given that two of the entries already had sauces on them. The portions were generous. Ample parking and a pleasant manager who made suggestions to us on what to order.

I was driving by when I saw this place and decided to check them out. First, I placed my order online since I was heading to the store. I ordered their orange chicken which comes with fried rice. I also bought their spicy yum yum sauce to try it as well. After placing my order, I got a confirmation text and and estimated time for pickup. It didn't take long for it to be ready. Once I arrived at the restaurant, I waited at the host stand as the sign instructed to for pickup orders. I did not know that the business was Black owned so I was happy to be of support when I saw the staff and heard the music. Inside the ambiance was very intimate with low lights and black table cloths. I do no know if the setup is always this way or if this was for a special event. I did arrive after 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. It looked very grown & sexy vibes. I was greeted by a woman that was assisting another party and she asked if I was picking up, which I confirmed. Then she told me to wait by the bar. There she had her son to assist me with gathering my order. I could really tell that the kid did not want to do this as he showed in his demeanor. His greeting to me was "Name." Then he went to grab the food and asked me "What did you order?" When I confirmed what I ordered verbally, he asked me, "Did you confirm?" I had no idea what he was talking about since I already had the food. So as he saw my confusion he yelled for his mom to assist him. She squared everything away. While I can understand trying to teach kids how to work, that interaction wasn't necessary. Outside of the customer service, the food was really good. I thought I was just gonna take 1 bite but I ended up finishing it in 1 sitting. I would have preferred more sauce with the orange chicken, but luckily I had some yum yum sauce. I ordered the spicy one, but this one didn't taste spicy. Overall, the quality of the taste was really good. I would say I prefer this over their competitor.

We tried Hibachi King for their weekday $10.99 lunch special. The name is misleading, as they do not grill the food on a hibachi's in front of you. My husband hates sizzling food near him, as he doesn't appreciate the heat, fumes and oil splattering on his hair and clothes, so this worked out well for us. The setup is more conducive to Hsppy Hour, as there are only 2 booths and one table that are not barstool height. The steak was chopped up, not whole or sliced, but was to our liking because it was easy to eat. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, and the service was friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back. The Happy Hour menu was also tempting.

It's a fairly busy restaurant but we were able to grab seats without issue. We opted for the Hawaiian roll, a selection of salmon nigiri (regular, smoked, and torched) and udon. The sushi was delicious, lots of flavor and filling. The torched salmon was our favorite, a nice thick, smoky cut. The udon worked well and it was a large portion that we ended up taking to go. They also had miso soup, corn soup, and black bean soup available, and all of those were great. A perfect touch to a cheap but good meal. Definitely a must! The quality for the price is great and glad to have another place like it around. Will definitely need to be back to try their other menu items!

Grab one of each if you're planning on ordering sushi/ sashimi related items. If you're wanting the non- sushi items, there's a menu next to it too and at the ordering counter that you'll see once you get past the first set of doors. Pretty much everything is self serve (after you order and pay of course) so napkins, utensils, water, soups are for your enjoyment! So my suggestion is to get a table (if you can) and then order at the counter but if it's too packed, togo is still an option. I came by myself on a Friday at 5pm and it was definitely bustling but not overcrowded. Tables were clean and there was enough space between each table/booth. Food came out pretty quickly too and I was able to go back and forth for miso soup at least two or three times. If I had to rank my favorite of the four items I ordered: 1. Smoked Salmon 2. Scallop Handrolls 3. Salmon 4. Oyakudon All were wonderful but the smoked salmon and scallop handrolls are the two pieces that I've been trying to search around Houston for what I think is the best. Not quite starstruck but definitely hit the spot. Final rating: I'd love to come back and try their other menu options when I'm in the area and craving quick casual bites

Quite an interesting Asian fusion menu. We set a reservation for 5:30 pm on a Tuesday night and it was fairly empty, only started to pick up around 7:30 when we left. We came primarily for HRW which both my parents and I participated in. With it being a $55 dinner option and a steakhouse, we had high expectations. - Appetizers: crispy tuna roll (the arare rice cracker topping felt a little stale, did not add the desired crispness and could have been left off altogether), grilled naan (server recommended the labneh for a savory taste but it was honestly more sour if anything), and chopped salad (plum dressing was a little too tart for my dad) - Entrees: wagyu skirt steak (a pretty small portion but tender and well seasoned, balanced well with the chili vinaigrette), prime burger (large and flavorful), & 8 oz fillet (mom asked for medium rare which the outer rim of the filet was perfectly done but the inside was much more red and chewy, not really cooked at all - I encouraged her to send it back to cook further but she insisted it was still edible) - Desserts: bread pudding (not sure if I like the black sesame ice cream, didn't really feel like it paired well and the bread pudding would have done just fine by itself), basque cheesecake (very airy), & coconut mango mousse cake (too light for my taste, was expecting more mousse than cake) Service was great - water was constantly refilled (even if it wasn't halfway empty), empty dishes were promptly removed, and new silverware was always provided. Our overall critique was that it was a little bit of a turnoff how our server was trying to upcharge on certain things such as adding toppings to the filet ($12 for a small scoop of truffle butter, are you kidding...) and pushing us to get additional sides with our entrees. Rating wise, I would give our experience a 7/10.

Until I was at a foodie event and Benihana was there promoting their new menu, reward program and remodel restaurants. So I decided to give them another try. The staff was friendly and keep a fun vibe cracking jokes and playfully picking on us. The chief did a great job with the show doing some of the classic "tricks" and some new ones. I did notice each chief had their own unique presentation. While still keeping to the core of what you've seen in the past but also adding their own flare to it. The table next to us turned off the table light and created a laser light show with steam and pen pointers. Our chief didn't do that but he went crazy with some juggling skills. The food was top-tier and it was an amazing experience. If you haven't been recently I recommending checking them out.
