This motel should've posted a warning. The rooms were not sustainable. We walked into our room to a broken window curtain and rod, blood on our sheets with no comforter, graffiti on the furniture, no working TV, blood/feces splattered on the wall, and no assistance from maintenance or the front desk at all. When asking for a refund or another room we were told they're booked up for the night and there's no refunds; you can call your bank or third party service you paid through. It was absolutely disgusting, not a good experience, and unacceptable to rent out for a night or longer.

Broken shutters and numerous stains in the bathroom area.

HOTWIRE put my college - aged daughter here with deceptive photos on their website showing fresh, clean rooms. It's nothing like the photos on their website... It's a real shithole. There were feces smeared on the walls by the bathroom along with holes in the plaster. The shower had broken tiles with sharp edges easy to slice your foot on. Old food was still inside the broken fridge. The dumpster outside her room had a mountain of trash around it and cats were everywhere after the rats the garbage attracted. Vagrants were smoking weed in the parking lot and harassing my daughter as she walked to the hotel from the car. The front desk clerk was barely conscious and didn't even tell her what room she was in before he walked away in a stupor. HOTWIRE showed pictures of rooms that appeared to be remodeled but in actuality were NOTHING like they presented on their website. HOTWIRE declined my offer to look at the photos and said it didn't merit a refund. I moved my daughter out of the roach and rat infested dump to a nicer Best Western nearby. HOTWIRE refused to credit my account or even to help me get my daughter to a safe hotel. They were fine leaving her stranded in East LA in the middle of the night. I had to book another hotel myself and pay walk in rates because HOTWIRE felt the dump bug and rat infested hotel with feces on the wall is ok for a college girl. HOTWIRE can't be trusted anymore since they sold out, their website supporting this unsafe shithole is totally unacceptable and we're out $80. Stay away from this place and stay away from HOTWIRE.

    Bed bugs

The photos online look good I wasn't expecting much for it being a motel but I have seen truck stop bathrooms cleaner and in better shape than this place. The first thing that hits you when you walk in is the smell of cigarette smoke and weed, than you notice all the graffiti in the room and from there it just gets worse. NO SMOKE DECTOR!!! Holes in the walls along with bad patches there is blood on the sheets, the door has been kicked in previously and barely closes/ locks, the air conditioner is held together with tape and there's exposed electrical wires from the face plate on the outlet missing, and to top it all off BED BUGS! We went to the front desk to ask to switch rooms and they flat out said no and gave a bad attitude with it. They even refused to give us new sheets and more than 1 bath towel for a room with 2 beds and 4 people in it.

    Dirty towel

The worst hotel I've ever booked with. We booked 2 rooms for two nights, but unfortunately we ended up only staying for one night due to the unexceptional conditions. One of the rooms had blood spots on the wall, door, towel, and lamp. Not only that there was BED BUGS... the other room had moldy window seals and shower handle. The bed sheets/towels were not fully clean. If safety is a priority for you, neither of the rooms had a second lock like most hotels. We didn't stay in our rooms and opted in sleeping in our cars because there was no way we would want to sleep in those beds. I would not recommend staying here.

Quiet motel with gated access to ensure security of guests. Check in was smooth and quick thanks to the efficient lady at the front desk. My room was styled like a bungalow so I did NOT experience overhead noise from other guests stomping their feet in rooms above. My room also came equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, 43 inch flat screen TV, closet with hangars, hair dryer, a wooden desk and chair. There is a 7 eleven, staples store, sushi restaurant and Cadillac as well as Range Rover dealership close by! My dislikes with this place are they charge a $20 cash deposit at check in, there is no swimming pool and fitness center. The refrigerator was smelly and there was no telephone, alarm clock, ironing board and iron in my room. Also I saw a roach in the bathroom.

The actual rooms themselves are quiet outdated and filled with some quirks such as a sliding barn door bathroom and sparse lighting in the bedroom itself. There were a couple other issues with the room itself that made the say less than desirable, and certainly not worth the weekend nightly rate. For one, the thermostat/cooling unit in the room was nonfunctional. I lucked out by being in Pasadena in an unseasonably cool stretch, but disappointed that even basic A/C didn't come with my room. Would be a real problem for most of the summer in LA. Secondly, despite being advertised as "Mountainview", you mainly get a view of the neighboring buildings. Definitely not worth paying extra for. What's worse is that directly below the mountainview/east side of the building sits the entire A/C equipment for the hotel, which is incredibly loud. If you leave the glass sliding door to the patio open, the noise is still significant even with 30 db earplugs on. Even with the door closed, the din of the rooftop equipment is loud enough to sound like an A/C unit running in the room. Which was little comedic given the A/C or even just fan alone in the room itself is nonfunctional! Again, a sign of how dated the rooms are that the soundproofing is so terrible. This is clearly a hotel that prioritizes its lobby and conference room facilities over the guestrooms themselves. Finally, for a hotel that looks relatively luxurious, you won't even find a hot tub. For that and all the reasons above, you're better off splurging a bit more for better, or sticking with a Marriott Courtyard or even motel/inn. All of which will have more updated rooms without the quirks.

The front desk staff seriously needs additional training in customer service, problem solving, and basic guest relations. I specifically booked and paid extra for a pool view room, and I also explained during check-in that I am handicapped and would appreciate a room near the parking garage entrance for accessibility purposes. Instead, not only was I placed far from the garage entrance, but my room was downgraded to one facing the street despite paying more for the upgraded view. As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I would expect attentive service and, if anything, consideration for an upgrade based on availability -- not being charged more for a downgraded experience. What made the situation even worse was the attitude I received when I called to address the issue. Rather than showing empathy or offering any apology, I was treated as though I was the inconvenience. After having to walk all the way back down to the front desk, the "solution" was to place me in a room that was essentially the farthest possible location on the opposite side of the parking garage. After more than 15 years of loyalty to this hotel, this experience completely severed that relationship for me. It's disappointing to see the level of hospitality and guest care decline so dramatically.

In Pasadena, your best bang for the buck is always this place. And over the last couple years that decision was made because of one person - Alexa. Here's the thing - I like a particular room on the ground floor because it's easy to load all my work materials in and out. I book through a 3rd party app (sorry, job thing for the points) so I book then call to request that room. In years past Alexa and I had just exchanged the typical check-in pleasantries and that was all. Pleasant, courteous and informative with any of my Q's. But I switched jobs and hadn't been back in the area for about a year. Now I'm back and my territory now includes SoCal again. I booked, and called. Alexa picked up and without me even telling her my name first she informed me that she'd seen the booking and knew that this guest (from a year prior!) preferred a particular room and had already put me in that one. This has happened a few times since and each time, I'm still impressed. I don't expect this nor should anyone. For someone that's on the road as often as I am, I see a lot of faces at hotels and they blur together after awhile so I assume it's similar on their end. But I really just have to say it's so rare to have someone who has a 'few times a year' 30-second exchange with me be so good at her job that I'd never go anywhere else. And when I'm doing business in the area, I rave. Apart from that - very clean rooms. Everything works as it should. Parking is ample and safe. Just wanted to take the time to share my experience to let the owner know that, through the years, she's really done a lot to make me feel welcome and taken care of. They're lucky to have her.

I had an important appointment across town that I needed to keep so, I left to get to the appointment and expected to get back to the hotel around the time that the room became available. Unfortunately, I encountered serious vehicle issues and was not able to get back to the hotel. I also did not want to get stuck in the dark trying to get across town to the hotel. I tried to call the hotel later that evening but, it just kept ringing and ringing, until it timed out, and I was never able to reach anyone. Early the next morning (April 26th), I tried calling again but, it still just kept ringing until it timed out. I was finally able to physically go to the hotel and speak with Mary a bit after 2am. She told me that I would have to wait until after 9:30 or 10 am and speak with David, the GM. I called at 11:21 am and told another man there what happened and he told me to speak with David at 3pm. I spoke with David at 3:29pm and told him that I had planned to be there when the room was ready but, I had serious vehicle issues and no way to get to the hotel. I mentioned that I tried to call, no one answered, and that I finally spoke with Mary, who told me that I had to speak with him. He said that Mary starts at 11pm and I should have called sooner. I explained that had I not been stuck across town without transportation and dealing with serious vehicle issues, I would have but, I did try to communicate as soon as I could. I told him that I just wanted to be able to stay for one night to use the one night for which I paid. It is unfortunate because, even though this place was not the best, most well kept hotel, it was conveniently located and most of the staff, up to this point, seemed nice enough. At this point, I have no interest in ever staying here again. I would just like a full refund.

I like the proximity to S Lake Avenue but the experience wasn't worth it. Parking and check in is in front of the hotel. It's kind of dangerous with the traffic on Colorado Blvd. Best bet is to temporarily park and enter on Mentor. We loaded up our bags in the cart and checked in. Then parked the car. The parking garage is around the corner on Mentor. My first red flag is the parking pass didn't work and I grabbed a ticket to get in. Got that cleared but the time when I was given the pass and when I got to the entrance, it didn't activate. It also deactivated post checkout when I was leaving the garage/ When I checked in, I asked for room service for our entire stay and NO one showed up during our entire stay! More on that later. Room is on the small side but they made up for it with the shower. The shower was the best part of our stay. However, it would have been nice to have clean towels. I was disappointed we didn't get house keeping the next day, but I asked for towels and bar soap at the desk and when we got back to our room (they never showed up) or left anything in front of our door. On the second day, we made sure the service light was on and Private light was off. When we got to our room, we came back to a messy room and NO towels. By then, we're upset. When our towels arrived, they were so ratty that I would use these as our thrash towels at home. Imagine toweling off with that because I did. This is where things get really sketchy. Don't leave out a menu for a $9 beer and charge us $12. The bartender says her manager didn't change the menu but there was a price change. Honor the price listed! That is illegal. I don't mind paying the listed price, but the audacity to upcharge $3 and expect a tip. The housekeeping experience made us check out early. There was no point hanging in a messy room. I usually tip housekeeping but there was no need for me to do so on this visit.
