Clean room, decent location, prices competitive, neighborhood seems safe, lots of free amenities, such as the breakfast and coffee, and lounge areas. The heat worked well, wasn't too noisy, shower hot, bathroom clean, no noise from other guests, so slept well. It rained, so did not use the pool, but it seemed fine. Lots of good shopping and coffee shops nearby, sense of community as well. I would stay again as they seem well run and friendly. There are a couple of minor things that I feel are worth mentioning. 1. The breakfast areas requires you to walk around the pool, which because it was raining was awkward. Normally in California (it never rains in Southern California ; ), this would be good, so not a big deal. 2. There were folks several times at the pavilion in the back corner "partaking", and I could smell it, especially when I had to park next to it. "Do what you want, just don't involve me." 3. I had a recent overnight stay at the GreenTree Inn which was conveniently located near an event that I was attending. Greentree Inn was a pleasant and comfortable stay - I would classify it as a no-frills kind of place. It was quiet overnight and we woke up well rested. Service (front desk) was friendly and our room was ready on time. THE ROOM: The room was a decent size for the price, albeit the bathroom was small and cramped. The shower heated up well and the water pressure was good. Toiletries (soap, shampoo, body wash, lotion, and toothbrushes) were included. The bed was comfortable but the pillows left much to be desired (too soft for me personally). There were also 2 free water bottles and snacks (crackers and pretzels) available for us. PARKING: There was free guest parking in the back, the lot appeared a bit small. Overall, GreenTree Inn was a nice, clean, safe space to stay and I would stay again. read more

I really wanted to love this hotel until we had an issue with the hotel the last night of our stay. There are not a lot of pictures of the hotel so you have to just go with it. I stayed in their king room with a jacuzzi. If you book this room and are sharing it beware because there is not bathroom door. The toilet and sink and bathtub are all open to each other offering no privacy whatsoever. The room seemed as if the carpets had not been washed or maintained in such a long time. The room does have a mini fridge and microwave. It is decently sized but I would not stay here again. The housekeeping staff is very friendly and one thing I did love if they have refill water stations downstairs. Breakfast buffet was good and they do offer plenty of options but they do not let you come out with the food to your room or you have to pay an additional fee. I had never seen this in other hotels so it was strange. The people also always kind of stare at you while you eat making it a bit uncomfortable. read more

During the fires my parents had to evacuate and booked this hotel only to be turned away when they got there because they said they overbooked and had no rooms. The front desk said they would be refunded, but lied because later, received a bill from their CC, where the night was charged. They are not responding to phone calls in regards to this. Stayed here during the summer. I called 6 hours ahead to ensure I can check in at 4am they told me it was fine. Doors were locked and nobody was in the lobby I banged on the door for an hour, made multiple calls to them, sent an email, and waited 2 hours outside almost having to sleep in my car until somebody finally came to the desk. Not sure if the man was stuck on the toilet or sleeping but when we told him how long we waited and how nobody was there he just got rude and kept denying it saying we were never waiting. He lied saying he was there. The whole stay the desk clerks were just rude. The pool was dirty, I found a towel with what looked like makeup on it, the bath salts were clearly drenched and used. I didn't expect nothing fancy since it was a budget friendly hotel and its LA but I've been to better inns. read more

And as often as I visit, you would think that I would get great customer service....however due to the cost of living I thought I would try my luck and ask for somewhat of a discount and too my surprise the attendant proceeded to tell me that she couldn't help me with that and that if I didn't like it to go somewhere else. And continues to boast about how clean the howtel was...... Well....If I had walked in to a spotless room I wouldn't have posted anything. I love this hotel and wished I had found it sooner. I go on retreats every couple of months and always need a stop over night between Cali and home. I found this place on Expedia and wasn't expecting anything, but sometimes the best things in life come unexpected! I love that they have an ample size parking lot and when I got out after a long drive, the spot I pulled into had a bamboo wind chime right next to my parking spot hanging from a tree making the most calm and pleasant sound ever. I walked in and check in was very easy and receptionist was quick and welcoming. There is a table to grab some quick snacks and iced tea. Room was very clean, nice balcony area, and even a laundry basket if you stay more nights. Also complimentary bottles of water and snacks waiting for you! I really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast the next morning and there was so much to eat! They even had Chinese porridge with pork sung and pickled veggies! I later found out this place is owned by someone from Taiwan and Claire at the front desk was super sweet when I checked out and also offered a discount next time I stay! Experienced my second visit to Greentree Inn over Memorial Day weekend.I had a great stay here and would definitely come back! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I checked in. One of the highlights was the buffet breakfast. Lots of tasty options, both hot and cold, and everything was fresh and well-stocked. It's a great way to start the day without having to hunt down food first thing in the morning. The private parking lot is super convenient, especially in a busy area. I never had to worry about finding a spot or dealing with street parking. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a good night's sleep. Definitely felt taken care of. Prices were also very reasonable for the area, especially considering all the amenities. Bonus points for the Japanese-style vending machine in the lobby! It offers hot meals, which is such a cool and convenient touch, especially if you're arriving late or just want a quick bite without going out. Overall, a great experience. This place had horrible water damage in our room on the floor near the AC and roaches. It also had a very stale, moldy disgusting smell. If you have an animal, they most likely will put you in a shitty room to prevent further damage even though I had a professionally trained service animal, when I told the front desk the room had roaches they told me they had never seen roaches in their hotel before which was obviously a lie and the room rooms available wouldn't give me a different room. I came to this hotel on Saturday, May 28th to spend time with family. When I arrived, I was told to park in a specific spot by the hotel staff. The next morning, the drivers side, rear of my car, had been hit. I complained to the hotel staff, specifically to the man that told me to park where I did. Suddenly he developed amnesia and told me he didn't know who I was, nor remember telling me where to park my car. I asked him his name. He told me he was the manager and the owner. Later on in the day I spoke with Olivia, I asked her if I could have footage of the cameras in the parking lot so I could send it to my car insurance. She said I would have to wait until Monday because the owners were in New York and they would be the only ones who could review the videos because of privacy issues. This morning, as I was checking out, the man who said he was the manager was there. I asked him what his name was he became enraged. He started wagging his finger at me and yelling at me. Then he started coming towards me, kicking a door so I hurried out with my kids. I managed to take a picture of him coming at me. The owner called me today, she told me she couldn't give me the video because of privacy issues. Add to all that, the TV was broken, the carpet smelled like weed, and the towels were stained. I'll never go back to this hotel and and hope this serves as a warning to all those considering staying at this poor excuse of a hotel. read more

Physical hotel: This is an aging hotel in a convenient location on the Pasadena/LA border near Starbucks, a drug store, grocery, etc. There was nothing unclean or unsafe about this hotel. The room with a hot tub is presumably for a very intimate couple. That's fine but I prefer to have a wall between the tub/shower and the bed. Showering together can be nice. Water on the floor isn't. I also prefer to have a door separating the toilet from the room. Yes, intimacy is wonderful. But some things are still personal. Regarding the Hotel Staff, I have two comments. 1. When we arrived during the night, the security guard was SOUND asleep! I had to wake him up to check in. 2. When we checked out, I had accidentally left some clothes behind. I think they were caught in the bedding, so I didn't notice them. As we got into the elevator, I thought I heard someone yelling "hello, " but assumed it wasn't for me. The lady in the housecleaning staff followed us downstairs all the way to our car to give us the clothes I forgot. That was amazing. She earned the hotel's 3rd star as well as a bigger tip! read more

We stayed here for one night and it's super convenient for getting food in SGV. We had a room with two queen beds facing the street side which was a bit loud. The beds were comfortable and felt clean. In the bathroom, they have soap and toothbrushes. Wifi - basically unusable. I had to do some work and switched from their two wifi connections (normal and 5G) and I wasn't able to load anything on my laptop. I ended up having to hotspot my phone. I booked a room thru UAL.com, and I could cancel by Nov 6 by 6p with full refund. Because my plan had changed, I cancelled on Nov 5. I received email from UAL that my cancelation was completed with full refund and if the hotel charged me then I'd to request refund from hotel. On my credit card statement I was charged by the hotel on Nov 5. I called, the agent said she's busy now and will call me back. She never did. I called again the next day, she said she'll check on that and will call me back. It's been a week now, she still has not called back. I booked this place because my family had already booked here for a weekend in LA. I arrived, parked in the small parking lot, and checked in. The man at the counter asked how many people would be in the room and I stated 4. He grunted and requested my card information. He checked us in and gave me one key card. We were given a parking pass for free parking. We walked towards the elevator and our noses were overwhelmed by a green tea scent. At first it was refreshing towards the end it was a nauseating scent. We took the elevator to the third floor. Our rooms were clean. Enough towels. Complimentary slippers, water, and snacks. The two beds were clean but small. You could open the slide doors to a 2 inch wide balcony (no room to walk). The water pressure in the shower was good. A big sink with complimentary toothbrushes. There was a sign that stated a $250 cleaning fee if you smoked on the premise including the parking lot. The complimentary breakfast was BASIC. The reason this experience was rated so poor was because the second night I experienced a very uncomfortable situation. I went to grab some food nearby with my family who was staying in the same hotel. We went up the elevator together and we each went to our own room. I heard someone talking at my front door and noticed the security at my door speaking to his Walkie talkie. I watched him through the door for about 5 minutes and he walked away. 1 minute later the front counter called and requested how many people were in my room. I stated 4 and that my family was also staying at this hotel. She asked if I was aware of the hotels policy for people allowed to be in the room. I said yes. And that was that. 10 minutes later I called that our TV (cable) wasn't working and they came up to my room to find a family working on legos with a TV that wasn't working. The guy (owner) had to leave and come back and wasn't able to fix the TV. He apologized and stated he would fix it in the morning. So no more TV for the remainder of the night. We checked out the next morning and handed the key to the front clerk who was on the phone and just took our card. The hotel staff was unprofessional, rude, and very suspicious of its customers. I have been coming here for several years staying for business. Claire is amazing and always takes care of me. The hotel is clean and comfortable, they have a new area were you can enjoy complementary coffee and tea with tables you can work at. I have always felt safe while traveling alone and the complementary breakfast is a bonus! I see alot of complaints about cleanliness and rude staff but have never witnessed any off that. This is such a nice to stay. The price was 1/3 of what I spent a week earlier in downtown LA. They offer free Otis Spunkmyers cookies a the desk. There is a pot of hot coffee and iced tea and cup of noodles at lobby. They have a freezer with lots of items in it to heat up. And a vending machine with drinks. There is a free breakfast room with make you own Belgin waffles. Also sausage, eggs, potatoes, etc etc. Even a swimming pool outside. Self parking in a huge outdoor lot. The room included free sandals. Also free tooth brush, snacks, etc. There is an iron an ironing board. Beautiful view of surrounding mountains. Friendly staff. Etc Etc. Stayed here for one night and was, at first, pleasantly surprised by the interior designing and look of the rooms. The rooms look pretty nice but there's sort of a restroom smell throughout the room... We tried turning off the ac and airing it out through the "patio" window," but it didn't really help. I also attempted to request for staff to bring up utensils, but they would only supply it if we could pick it up from the lobby. I assumed that we would be paying for that service so I'm a bit disappointed with that. We also noticed that there were stains on the blankets that were dried up and crusty. We decided to pass it by since it was late and we were tired, but in the morning we brought it up with the front desk. They appeared to be really apologetic and promised that they would give us a call and get back to us, but it's been 3 days and I haven't heard back. Personally I wouldn't go back here. The staff didn't seem too happy or accommodating, and there's definitely other hotels in the area that are probably more responsive and helpful. 2 stars :( read more

The rooms are well appointed with quality bedding and space, elegant lighting options and massive screen TV (great cable choices but no streaming services that I could detect). The views from the upper floors, if you are lucky, is of the San Gabriel mountains rising up. (Ask for an upper floor and parking lot-facing view if you want that.) The cleanliness and obvious care was welcome. The lobby has fantastic iced chrysanthamum tea with lemon, coffee, fruit, and snacks. Hilton vibes. In the room you'll find complimentary snacks on par with U.S. Airlines. I also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (7-9 a.m.) including boiled eggs and items individually wrapped to go, because there are COVID safe protocols to avoid communal air-sharing. Ice machine, water filters on each floor, excellent lighting and decor in the hallways are all signs of a well managed property. Free parking and free Wifi ease your stay. A printer and scanner along with shared computer is located in the lobby for guests' use. If you get hungry for tacos there are adjacent shops, and if you need any snacks, frozen meals, magazines, medicines, beer, a pharmacy is conveniently next door. The lobby has a microwave as well as a cooler filled with frozen meals, and drinks machines. A short walk away is Target, Aldi, and other stores. I enjoyed this quiet location and will be a repeat customer when returning to LA. It's a no brainer, you have the best of Asian culture and don't have to deal with tacky American cost-cutting chains. I had a pleasant stay here over the weekend for a wedding that I was attending. A wonderful hotel and the area is absolutely not sketchy at all. Here are my observations: Check-In: 3 p.m. Check Out: 11 a.m. Breakfast: Daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Parking: Free Parking!!!! They will have you place a parking tag inside your car to indicate that you are a guest staying here. There's also a Security Guard there at night. Should the parking lot get full, he will direct you on where to park. I ended up parking in a Handicapped Spot and he notified the Front Desk that I was parking there to prevent from getting ticketed/towered. Service: Some of the staffers here are nice, especially, the young female staffers at the Front Desk were very friendly and welcoming. However, the first night I checked in, I felt bad for the young female staffer working. She was the only one checking in a lot of people. Her Manager, I felt should have helped assisted with check in instead of hovering over her and staring at us blankly. Pros: 1. Strong Wifi, yes!!! 2. Pokemon Go! Approved!!! The room that I stayed here had a bunch of Pokemon spawns! Needless to say, I just had to refresh my game every 5mins to get new Pokemon, lol! 3. You will NEVER go thirsty here! Not only do you have complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby, but there's also a free water dispenser around the corner! Also, you get 2 complimentary water bottles in your room, and they also get replenished the next day when your room is made up. 4. You will NEVER go hungry here either! You also get complimentary snacks in your room. Also, if you're still hungry, but don't want to leave the hotel, they have their very own mini market here. You can purchase Frozen Foods, Pizzas, Ice Creams, Sodas, etc. After purchase, you can microwave it right there and bring it back up to your room. You have a fridge, but no microwave. 5. I liked that the rooms have two buttons that you can either push: Do Not Disturb or Make Up Room. They light up outside your door to let the Cleaning Crews know what to do should they approach your room, nice! 17. Lots of eateries down Main Street Alhambra and a Edwards Regal Movie Theater too! There's a Target and Walgreens nearby. If you need a real market, there's Sprouts, LOHAS Fresh Market, 99 Ranch and Smart & Final (Extra!) down Main Street Alhambra; Albertsons on Fremont Avenue; and Alhambra Market up the street from the hotel. Mixed Feelings 1. Breakfast - The waffles batter needs to be made thicker, very runny. Also, if you want scrambled eggs, that doesn't come out until about 7:40 a.m. Also, the Asian Lady that is in charge of cleaning up and replenishing the food/drinks, she watches the guests very suspiciously while silently judging them, lol! 2. Towels - Fabric softener needed! 3. Body Wash - Not a fan, my skin felt very itchy afterwards. 4. Exit Door - My room was two doors down near the Exit Door. It's kept opened 24/7. Even though you need a keycard to access back upstairs, it made me feel a bit weary the first night. Luckily though, I did feel safe knowing that there was a Security Guard downstairs. Cons: 1. Street Noise - If your room faces Main Street and near the Exit Door likes mines, you will hear a lot of cars passing by. 2. King Bed - Firm, but lumpy. 3. Four Bed Pillows - super flat, even with two pillows propped up. 4. Bathroom - It's clean, but feels small and cramped. Stayed here for two nights in May 2021 with my husband. We stayed in a King Deluxe, not sure why it's called deluxe, but it was very clean and the bed was super, super comfortable. Part of the room was carpeted and while clean, I'd prefer no carpet at all. The TV was big but the picture quality was not the best, however they do offer basic cable which my husband was happy about. There was bottled water and chips in the room as well as slippers. I really loved the bed linens and the comfort of the mattress. We had no problem getting extra pillows either. The bathroom was full of towels and very clean. The water pressure is GREAT! They have shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion as well. I'm not a fan of the smell at all. It smells too much like a hospital. We didn't have a problem parking, but both nights we did get one of the last few spots. The staff was accommodating and polite. We stayed an extra night last minute and had no problem. Overall, I would give it 4/5 stars but my husband loved it so much that we will be staying here again next week so I'm giving it 5. read more

First time staying at the GreenTree Inn on Friday night (10/12/18) and I will never be coming back here. Negatives: - Parking. (Make sure you back park upon arrival. You'll understand why once you check out.) - There was this intense fragrance lingering throughout the hotel. I don't mind it, but some people can be sensitive to the smell, which may cause an irritant. - Cleanliness? I knew our previous guest had a good time. Found 2 used condoms and a filthy bathtub. When my sister called the front desk regarding this matter, the hotel room cleaner knocked on the door within 1 minute. I pointed out the location of the used condoms and the dirtiness of the bathtub, and her response was, "REALLY?", "REALLY?''. I just stared at her without saying a single word since I was speechless by her reaction. She then told my sister she can clean it up, but I told her we want a different room. - Hotel room walls were very thin so I could hear the music/TV/conversations in the neighboring room. - Couldn't view anything outside since half of the bottom shutter was to be remain closed at all times. Cons: - Fast check in / check out. - Vending machines with drinks, ice cream, and frozen meals in the lobby. I LOVE this hotel!!! I booked the king room with jacuzzi and it was sooooo much better than what I expected! I ended up booking for the rest of the week. The room was perfect! They had lights above the bed and jacuzzi that changed colors and it was awesome, I've never seen a hotel like that before. The jacuzzi was PERFECT and it was huge! I used it every night. They had cute little towels, a foam pillow for ur head, and some bath salts to use as well. The pressure was amazing. The third night the lights went out so I called downstairs and before I could even hang up, they were already knocking on my door. The maintenance man Randy fixed the lights within minutes. The bed was super comfy, the tv was huge (55"?) everything was more than I could've asked. It's next to Walgreens so super convenient. Love the rooms here. The only issue was there isn't a bathroom door and the shower is in the hot tub. Makes no sense.
