I have been having my nails done here for years, and they are by far more affordable and do a better job than any of the other nail salons I have frequented. They welcome walk-ins, and I've never had to wait long, even without an appointment. (I'd recommend an appointment, however...it makes it easier for them) The owners and the staff are friendly and personable. I now get pedicures here as well, and have never been disappointed. i believe that any bad reviews they have received are old, or due to service received from someone who is not regularly on their staff. read more

This review is for Hi Tek Nails in Burlington, Washington by the old Kmart. I am sad to write this review because I know everyone depends on customers for their livelihoods, but I have had two bad pedicures and one bad manicure from this salon. The first pedicure was months ago. I called them later that night because I was speechless. It was a new technician so I went in the next day to show them and so they could remove the polish. It took 6 months to grow out. They didn't offer me a refund. This last time was on Wednesday 9/25/24. I went in for a pedicure. Different technician as 6 months ago. She did okay last time she did my toes. But this time again, the polish was too thick and even after it dried while I had a manicure, it still smudged. Plus, their fancy chairs no longer work properly. The manicure was a joke. I told her to do my cuticles very lightly. The scab in my left middle finger still hasn't healed. She also cut my left pointer finger too short at the top when she was trimming the sides. The polish (I paid extra for a french manicure) didn't last through the night. I realize fingernail polish doesn't last as long as toenail polish without gel/acrylic. But I only needed it for a meeting the next day at 1 p.m. It didn't even last that long. I was heading back to Burlington to have them fix it, and then stopped in the salon in town to see if they did nails. They did so they fixed them for me. An extra $10. I think these people need to take a break from their business. They seem tired and that does not work well with a significant communication barrier. I wish them well. Would not go back.. I told the technicion do not cut cuticles she went ahead and started to cutting causing my finger to bleed. In addition the shellac only lasted 1 week . I have had nails done many times elsewhere and never had this issue . read more

I was a Walk-in and there was nobody in the shop but the nail techs the female tech started taking off my old polish then a young man took over he didn't get the old polish off before putting the new gel on, he was in a hurry some of my nails looked like a toddler did them. and paid 45 bucks!! The only reason I was there is because my regular shop was closed due to the owners going on vacation. So needless to say, I won't be back. read more

I was a walk-in customer that asked if they could take a walk-in shellac manicure & pedicure, which they said no problem. They put me in a pedicure bath chair right away, but I was sitting there for over 1/2hr as water got cold. The pedicure ended up nice, but my shellac nails were another story all together. She did not trim the cuticle skin and paint color up to my nail bed. After looking when I got out to my car, I couldn't allow the bad job that I was just charged $56 for. I asked for the man to correct her errors, and he worked on it for about 5 minutes to still not satisfaction, but I had now been there nearly 2 hours, so I had to leave. Less than 1 week later and nearly all my nails are chipping with shellac. I am a banker, and don't work with my hands for a living, so the quality of what I received is subpar. I would chose another salon to spend your hard earned money at. read more

This review is based on a basic pedicure only. I was a walk-in on a Wednesday afternoon, and they were not busy so they accommodated me right away. There was everything to see, smell, heat at any other nail salon. Very clean, organized, cliche decor but not hideous. The tubs were covered in a plastic layer, the tools came in a separate bag assuring cleanliness. The options for different tiered pedicures, as pictured, with description of what entails each. My nail lady was very gentle, thorough and very friendly. I do have to mention on the basic pedicure, when they say long massage, they mean business and give you a loooonnnngggg massage. I highly recommend, even though it may seem their location is in the corner; they're literally a hole in the wall type of business. read more

We are updating our review to include the recent improvement to their shop. They have installed a back wall that separates the chairs for pedicures from the manicure tables. This means patrons can breathe in less of the chemical vapors that plague these establishments. The lack of a strong chemical smell, though, has always been one of the reasons we prefer this place. Hi-tek has always given good pedicures for the price, and we are happy with their service. read more

35 dollars for shellac that only lasted 4 days before chipping off. When I returned to ask the man if they could fix the problem he told me I must have hit something and refused to fix them. After moving here from Dallas and having gone to the same women for 15 years, I let my acrylics grow off, because I just couldn't find a place that had decent reviews. A friend took me to the two different places she has gone. While I prefer a pedicure somewhere else (better massages), THIS is the place I continue to visit for my fills, because I do like their quality. They are thin (natural-looking), long-lasting (have never had one peel) and quickly done .....I go to the guy who owns the salon; my friend prefers his wife. Will continue to go back! read more

I had been a loyal customer to hi tek nails for over three months now. I went into get my regular fill and was surprised to get quick service. Well the quick service soon diminished. The person doing my fill got out the drill and nicked me numerous times. After apologizing and having cuts on my nails they stopped and asked me to wait 15-24 minutes. My nails looked ridiculous they were half way filed down for the fill with color still on them. I didn't want to be rude but I had to walk out and find a different nail salon. This was the worst service I have ever experience at any nail salon let alone one that I have been going to consecutively for months. If there is a wait time be honest about it don't trick customers into thinking they are getting their nails done then have to sit stranded because you drilled on the nails. read more

This was my first time and my last time here and I wasn't impresses. My 16 year old daughter wanted a pedi-cure and I got one with her. It was the WORST pedi-cure I have ever had.... They didn't scrub the bottom of our feet the way their suppose to so our feet were NOT smooth like they should be. They didn't clean and clip the toes nails. Normally your suppose to clip the area on the toe nail so no in grown nails will happen. Then I got a full set of french tips. The guy there said he's been doing it for 14 years. He needs to find a different profession because my nails are are in bad shape. WORST mani-cure ever. Some of my nails are crooked, some are not smoothed and it messed up my cuticles. They seemed rushed and we were the only ones in there. Also the ladies that did me and my daughter's pedi-cure didn't speak NOT one word of english and it was frustrating because when my daughter was trying to talk to them to tell them what she wanted. They just looked at each other. Like we were from outer space and looked at us and laughed. I thought it was pretty rude the way they did that. My daughter is ADHD and high functioning autistic and it really upset her. She's try's but when things like this happen it really upsets her and them it upsets me. I'm soooooo upset at this job they did and I can't find a good nail place in Mount Vernon or Burlington. I wish, I could. I've been here a couple times now and have had great customer service. They recently remodeled their business last month and it looks great inside and has new pedicure chairs. I especially love that they use clean sanitized tools each time. You can see them rip open the tools from their brand new packaging. Reasonably priced too, my spa pedicure was only $20! I am so over nail places being so rude and inconsiderate. Idk what I have to do to find a good place to get my nails done! Just went into Hi-Tek nails, where I have gone many times. Last time I got my nails done I went there and they treated me horribly. Today I go in to get acrylics, which I have been contemplating all day, and it's an inconvenience for them. Before they sat me down they literally yelled at me for trying to pick a color because I didn't want chelac and told me to do it later. Then I sat down and they saw that I had chelac that I needed removed before the acrylics and he said "i i i" and looked around then literally was mumbling about how he was to busy for this and things along those lines. He grabbed my hand and started filing my nails to soak them and I was sick of it at this point so I looked at him and asked if he wanted me to leave. Then he was talking about how I'm going to have to soak my nails and how he has an appointment and this and that but I could leave if I wanted to. I grabbed my purse and said I'll leave. Another lady from inside came out and knocked on my car window and asked if I still wanted my nails done and I shook my head no. Normally I try to be super nice to them even if they're rude or hurt me but I can't stand that anymore, especially working in the beauty industry. I would never treat a client like that. read more

the man does an excellent job doing acrylics. he never disappoints me. he genuinely cares about how your nails look and your satisfaction. on the other hand, the younger women is NOT by any means impressive. she told me my nails were dry and I could leave, so I walked outside and reached into my back pocket to get my keys and my nails were completely smeared. I was frustrated because I had to go to work soon and was planning on stopping by my house before hand. I went back in to show her that she had not dried my nails and she laughed and then painted over the my smudged nails creating a bumpy mess! at that point my nails looked awful enough but she continued to touch every single one of my still dentable nails. now my nails are bumpy and dented AND contain her fingerprints. when she finally said they were dry, she said "be careful!!" as I was leaving. I thought "why would I have to be carful if you said my nails are dry now?" when I got in my car, I had to sit there for about 20 minutes because my nails were still too wet to buckle my seatbelt. I had to give up and buckle in because I was close to being late for work. not a fun experience. read more
