Unfortunately my experience here wasn't as pleasant as expected due to the food more than anything else. I will start off by saying that service was amazing, and my server Lynn was very attentive in checking in on my partner and me intermittently. I also enjoyed the vibe as it was dark with a mystic atmosphere with the colorful lights. In terms of food, almost everything fell short. The fried maitake sandwich had an extremely big piece of mushroom which was all good, but there was so much breading to the point that it was too oily, and the beet ketchup was able to tone it down a bit. I enjoyed the taste of sunflower mayo and cashew ranch, which were present in the sandwich. The mac n cheese veggrolls had a weird taste that I couldn't identify, but it was a bit tangy, so I dipped them in the sauce and that helped greatly. The pumpkin cinnamon roll up had a pretty strong alcoholic flavor in an unpleasant manner, which might have been the result of vanilla. I couldn't identify the actual ingredients because the item on the menu just said "a sweet rolled focaccia w/ a drizzle" which was ambiguous. My partner and I enjoyed Hi! Quesadilla the most, and having salsa verde on the side helped greatly. The hazelnut cheese was an interesting experience and we liked it as well as an alternative option to eat the quesadillas with. Per my understanding, this establishment will close soon, which I am a bit sad about because I highly support vegan places, but I do think that the food, at least the items I had ordered, needs some improvement. read more

Hi Flora is one of my new Minnesota favorites! I'm not a vegan and generally avoid a lot of the vegan menus but this place knocks it out of the park with Heather's recipes. We enjoyed the atmosphere, unique drinks and awesome thc infused drinks. Bong service is where it's at, byob! We had an off experience here and I'm so bummed it wasn't better, because I'd love to see this kind of place thrive! Hi Flora focuses on vegan & vegetarian food, and NA mocktails & THC beverages. We were in the area late and Nightingale was packed, so we decided to come over here. We didn't know if this spot was even open because it looked empty. It was around 9pm on a Saturday night and only two guests inside. The ambiance and decor is cool! Some really nice and seemingly upscale furniture - like couches and funky chairs - to sit on. The beverage menu was...overwhelming. There were upwards of 30 drinks to pick from, all with a lengthy description that had my eyes crossing. Many of the ingredients I didn't recognize, which made it hard to make a decision. I'd love to see a simpler, more approachable drink menu. The drink menu includes signature drinks, shots, cans, bottles, teas, coffee, cacaos, and THC beverages. I can't speak to the food because we were told the kitchen had closed for the night. However, compared to the drink menu the food lineup was minimal - a few small plates, 3 sandwiches, and 3 entrees. The drink prices were...shocking. I recognize that making revenue on a mostly NA and THC beverage space is challenging, and am so grateful that more NA options are popping up in the Twin Cities, but with many of the signature mocktails being $19, I found the experience cost-prohibitive. They had some teas for $9-$12, some cans as low as $5-$7, but there were also bottles of things for $44 and $7 NA shots on the menu. The pricing itself was a bit disorienting as well - some were whole numbers like $19, others were a play on angel numbers like $9.99...reading the menu was the opposite of what I think they're going for - calming and relaxing. I got the cheapest $13 mocktail on the menu, and it was tart but pretty tasty. They were out of a few signature drinks my friend wanted, so the server recommended one of the $19 drinks. They lit it on fire upon presentation which was cool, but the rest of the drink was pretty average - especially for that price. I don't think I'll return, but commend them for bringing a vegan/vegetarian and NA mocktail option to the area. read more

4.5/5 I can't wait to go again! Prices are steep but food is so fresh and tasty - the most high end vegan dining we have currently in the Cities. We went on a Friday night around 5:30 pm and the place was very quiet. Our wait staff was a little over eager - his spiel was much too long (I know what Lion's Mane is thank you sir!) but he was attentive when we needed things. I know Hi Flora is new and figuring things out but I was a little worried at how outdated their menu seemed already. During his entry spiel our wait staff told us a few of the items not currently avail so we ordered something else, which was also not available (drinks, apps, another entree, etc). Nevertheless it made it easy to choose what we wanted but it did irk me a little how inaccurate the menu was so it was a small red flag. The smashed potato skins were so tasty, topped with lil broccolini's that I'm still thinking about. The quesadilla also was nummy! The portion sizes were great, especially for the higher cost. We both shared the maitake sandwich and loved it - so juicy, fresh and flavorful and the sourdough bread was amazing. The drinks were fun and definitely gave me a little buzz but I am sensitive! My husband (we are both dry) partakes quite a bit in cannabis so didn't feel much with the cava or blue lotus tea but we had fun trying fancy mocktails. We kept seeing people coming in not to eat but to visit the back storefront room so after our meal we asked if we could go to and I was so pleasantly surprised! They are setting up a really cute and unique shop with cannabis/THC/hemp items, the like that I'd never seen before. It was like a smoke shop but herbal and high-end (without the drugs). I ended up getting some vegan chocolate from a UK brand I hadn't seen before (Otherly - the salted caramel was really good!) Hi Flora is an adorable new spot that you should definitely definitely check out, especially if you are vegan or vegetarian! Everything here is vegan...and delicious. We came for a late lunch, around 2:30pm. I didn't realize I couldn't order from their normal menu until 3pm, so I hastily picked something from their brunch menu. I panic-picked well, and got their hash browns. I mean, just look at the photos!! Absolutely gorgeous, and very flavorful. Also surprisingly filling. My partner got the mac and cheese egg rolls, which I tried and they were sooooo good. Vegan mac is honestly always better than...ok usually better than...normal mac. And Hi Flora does a good job with their mac. They also have a lovely outdoor patio to sit on, and I'd highly recommend doing so if you can! Hi Flora! Is such an interesting atmosphere and concept but it was so enjoyable. The space has a beautiful and eclectic decor. The food was so excellent!! I sometimes get nervous about cheese replacements, or cream replacements but they were all delicious. I was with a group of 3 and we did it Tapa Style, ordered 4 small plates and one entree which was perfect. The drink menu is also really unique!! Hi Flora! was such a great experience for my partner and I! We weren't sure what we were expecting since we came in blindly, but this was so fun. We met a few friends who have been here before and we decided to do their blunt class. We sat out on their cute patio and smoked for a bit. This place has a very clean, artistic kind of look. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic about the food. It is expensive, especially the drinks. Overall food and drinks were had mixed feelings. I didn't care much for the banana colada but I think it was the cashew milk part and it was something I didn't have much experience going into. The parsnip fries had a really tasty and refreshing sauce. The shawarma had the exact right flavor but the wrap didn't hold very well. Found a video on Instagram recommending this place. What a great brunch spot! The inside is so cute and we loved sitting on the couch/chair versus wood chairs. We felt very comfortable just hanging out. The staff was knowledgeable and kind. We were there for hours and never felt pressured by our server to leave. We ordered the Livender Bubbles (NA) and the French press coffee. We also go two of the 2mg CANN THC drinks. They were really subtle and relaxing without any head high. We also both got the hemp hashbrowns. When ordering we were a little nervous we'd end up leaving hungry, but we were very wrong. The hashbrowns were a large serving and the flavors were AMAZING! The stuffed squash blossoms were delicious but I thought the portion was very small for the price even as a small plate. It was ok but seemed like they just threw together different colored veggies that didn't necessarily all go together. I think there were raw saffron fennel seeds that were not pleasant in the dish. Visited 7/15/24. Located towards the uptown/eat street area this place has a super cute exterior. We made a reservation in advance for four, but it wasn't crazy busy on a Monday night so my guess is we could've done a walk in. Parking was slightly trickier but not too bad as long as you give yourself time for it. The place is definitely hazier inside but they have outside seating options as well. Maybe it's "dated" of me but I do wish they had a definitive website so we could've perused a bit more in advance. To drink I got the Hi Lemonade with Kava as did another one of my friends while the other two got pompelmos. I'm going to be honest here, I don't know that there's enough of a demographic that will pay up to $19 for a mocktail. Even with healthy and outsourced ingredients I couldn't really warrant it. I rarely am willing to pay above 15-16 for a normal cocktail. The food though really surprised us in a good way though. We got the fried maitake sandwich, the Mac n cheese vegrolls, and the potato skins. All very flavorful and we managed to split them between four of us and end up decently full. The fried maitake sandwich is a must get-very crispy and flavorful. My friend also got a tincture which she loved as well. Overall, I had a hard time summing up this experience. We all liked the food we ordered but agreed we couldn't justify the mocktail prices. read more

Stopped in this afternoon for the first time, I worked in this space (many years ago) when it was Common Roots, been meaning to come in for some time. It's about 3:00 PM on a Sunday and the rest of the area businesses (i live nearby and walked over) are busy, Hi Flora! is completely empty, not a single other seated table, uh oh #1. Server is very friendly when I walk in and tells me to seat myself, i choose patio, they follow me out promptly with water and a menu. They hold my water glass against their shirt/body as they carry it and grip the rim of the glass almost exclusively while setting it down, their finger nails are dirty. gross. so gross. i'm not drinking from this glass and as a fellow server (who learned to handle glassware by the bottom third of the glass as day-one job training) i'm not making it weird and asking for a replacement glass, i'm just going to take this as an obvious sign of their restaurant's hygiene practices. The paper menu is also visibly filthy, like it was printed months ago and handled relentlessly by greasy hands. Why - why? - would you hand this to your only table? I'm out, I gracefully excuse myself while feeling bad for the server. Came to yelp tonight to see if I missed out on anything I should give them another chance for and see the owner's defensive and uninviting responses to peoples experiences. I was visiting from out of town and needed a solo dinner spot, and this was absolute perfection. I had the hazelnut horchata, ancient cacao, fried maitake sandwich (on sourdough), and strawberry rhubarb bread pudding. Every single thing was SO good- I'm going to be thinking about this meal for a while. The maitake sandwich was very tall and just not possible to eat sandwich style, so I used a knife and fork. I also loved the vibes inside, and the server was really friendly! It was such a comfy and cute spot to read a book and enjoy a delicious meal. This is super minor, but I would have loved larger napkins than cocktail size (that sandwich could have easily gotten messy), but it would have taken something major to temper my enjoyment of such a perfect meal. Wow, we were blown away by the flavor profiles and the unique dishes and drinks. The decor was beautiful between the big windows, the brick walls, the rustic tables, the plants, art, and the candles. It was my friend's birthday and they even surprised her with avocado mousse which was rich and delectable. The server was very friendly and made sure we had the best care. This was a Sunday afternoon delight. Let me first say the ambiance is so soothing and it reminds me of this beautiful spot back home in " da O " if ya from Nebraska, you know what " da O " is. Upon entrance I was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Jordan. His customer service was impeccable. Let me say as a pregnant lady it means so much when someone acknowledges the presence of your growing womb and you as a beautiful combo. So he politely asked table for two, oh that blew me away. Acknowledgment of my growing belly! Amazing. He then directed me to the table and was so chivalry and went to pull out my chair and offered to go over the menu with me being a first time guest. I can during the brunch hours weekends 11 to 15:00 hours for those interested and the menu is limited to that menu during these hours specifically. I could not decide between the Hi! Hashbrowns and the Eggplant BLT. He stated the hashbrowns were a hit and boy was he right. The presentation was beautiful oookkk! Beautiful. Now again, I am not a vegan but choose to eat cleaner if you will. This is a great choice for those who desire the protein or meat (mitake mushrooms) with a little bit of carb (potatoes). Food was very solid, and can hold its own against other downtown restaurants. The parsnip fries and pea pasta were our favorites. Love the concept, the drinks we did get were super tasty, but we won't be back. The service was simply atrocious. We would have bought so much more if we had been attended to. Some of our food came out before all of our table even had the chance to order because the waiter didn't know we could only order certain things from the menu. The whole point of the tincture is to enjoy it with food but we didn't receive it until after we had finished the meal since it took so long. We never even received some of our meals after waiting 45 minutes. If you don't have ingredients for something on the menu it would be nice to know so I could order something else rather than being told 4 times they are checking on it. I was so hopeful to get here on my trip and waited impatiently. Unfortunately, all did not go well. I've been vegan for many, many years and have a wide and varied palate. I sampled drinks, small plates, entrees, and tinctures. There was not one thing I found enjoyable. Was it eatable? Sure. However, I believe this is a more an ambiance + THC moment. It is a beautiful place, can't deny that. Food was over salted and there were strange combinations that didn't work beyond theory, and exorbitant pricing for the portions. They put chimichurri instead of pesto on the pesto Mac....Service was subpar, laborious, and downright awkward. Our bill was completely messed up and we were overcharged/misinformed. I don't leave reviews often but after my experience here I wanted to boost this restaurant in any way I could! I had a truly delightful time at Hi Flora! with four friends. The outdoor patio is gorgeous but the inside was so cute I won't be too sad to sit in there once the temps get lower. We shared a few apps (the cashew dip was stellar) and I got the fried maitake sandwich all for myself- and I'm glad I did! It was one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had. Add the buffalo sauce and thank me later... Our service was top-notch as well, Pav was a fabulous guide through our experience and had helpful recommendations and tips for ordering from what was an impressively sized drink menu. There is an auto-added gratuity on the bill but it was well-earned in my opinion! I was so happy with the experience I had no problem adding an extra tip on top. Finally made it to Hi Flora and was very impressed! It's definitely a really cool experience to have in Minneapolis. It has nice decor and a cool vibe, passionate and friendly staff, and a great menu.
