Stayed at the Heywood for 4 nights/5 days. Loved staying here. It was very comfortable. The staff is super nice and helpful. They give you a nice kit for your room for coffee, robes, lots of snacks and drinks. They have a nice communal courtyard, and various other areas to spread out outside of your room. There's a communal wet bar where you can get ice, hot water, cold water, dishes and there's a microwave. We brought oatmeal, so this was really nice. Rooms were very clean and modern. They give all the essential toiletries like soap, lotion and Kevin Murphy shampoo/conditioner. Parking was easy. The area has lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance. I slept beautifully each night, so highly recommend staying here! I didn't want to leave.

Sweet handwritten note!

Had a fantastic stay at Heywood. It's all about the little things. This is a 7 room bungalow style hotel. Upon booking, they give you complimentary options for the room. I love that they provided a dark towel for colored hair! That's always an issue for me while traveling. Such a thoughtful touch. Also all communication and instructions was done by text up until arrival where I was greeted at my car in the small parking garage. Then I was shown to my room. The entrances to the building are key card access so it felt very safe. My room was so cute! Chocolates on my bed upon arrival. Also sanitized coffee/tea, cups, silverware etc items in a box. It is one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed. Felt more like an Airbnb stay. The staff are so attentive and kind. Made my stay so relaxing! I'll definitely be back!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Heywood Hotel in the distinctive neighborhood of East Austin. East Austin boasts many awesome restaurants (offering both inside and outside seating) within walking distance of the Heywood. It is close to downtown plus there is a nice running path along the river that is only a few blocks away. The Heywood is a boutique hotel with 7 rooms. Our room #4 was spacious, clean, quiet and even had its own private courtyard. The personalized touches were amazing, especially the welcome gift basket which included many items from local shops (coffee, snacks, beer and chocolate). We will definitely stay here again!

Nice shower.

I know it's strange that I am giving a five star review over at a hotel I never stayed at. My friend stayed there over the weekend to run the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon. I wanted to see the place because I saw photos of it. I must say it is nice. It has the modern decor in the lobby and upstairs there's a patio/lounge area. The hotel room is small but comfortable. It definitely has an intimate feel to it. Great for a stay-cation and I would definitely stay here if I can. There's only seven rooms at this hotel and not much parking.

Nice surprise for a beer snob like myself!

The property is beautiful, the rooms are always pristinely clean, and every little detail feels so thoughtfully considered. From the printed poetry in the bathrooms and gorgeous decor to the fabulous colorful robes and spotless bathtubs, I love absolutely everything about this place. And the breakfast is phenomenal! Perfectly satisfying, delicious, and the same incredible quality every single time. Truly the best way to start a long workday. But what really makes this place so special is the staff. Unbelievably warm, kind, and accommodating. They remember me each time I return, leave the sweetest handwritten notes, and have even been kind enough to bring a glass of wine or a margarita up to my room. There's something so special about a place that makes you feel genuinely welcomed and remembered. I always leave looking forward to my next visit. We also dined at Nido, the hotel's restaurant, for both dinner and breakfast, and it was definitely a highlight. Located on the topmost floor, Nido offers stunning views of the river and downtown Austin. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the ambiance is elegant and ideal for a special evening. During our visit, we saw a couple of groups celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries, which shows how perfect this place is for special occasions. The pricing is on the higher side, but it matches the upscale experience and beautiful setting. For dinner, we ordered the Burrata as an appetizer and the Autumn Garden for the main course, along with an American IPA and a Jack Frost cocktail. Everything was delicious, but the Burrata truly stood out as my favorite. Breakfast was equally enjoyable--we had custom-made omelettes with veggies and avocado toast, both fresh and flavorful. Overall, The Loren Hotel, along with Nido, offers a great blend of comfort, excellent food, and a beautiful atmosphere. A perfect choice if you're looking to celebrate something special or simply treat yourself to a high-end experience.

I tried their 8th floor restaurant for dinner and was floored- it is a MUST if you stay here (but that will be a separate review.) I would also like to recognize front desk attendant Thomas for his amazing Customer Service! He was so proactive in ordering our food and beverage when he knew that we didn't have time or we were late and the restaurant was not available. Thank you Thomas!

Location, comfortable bed, good shower, clean, the room gets nice and cold, etc. We stayed in a budget hotel the first night in Austin, and while it got the job done, the upgrade here was very apparent from the moment we walked in. Two possible flags against the hotel were prevented on my end. 1) When I am driving to a destination, I bring my pillows from home. Why risk bad hotel pillows when you can just throw yours in a large duffel? I'm glad I did this because the pillows didn't look great, but maybe I'm just picky about pillows. 2) Parking is $60/night. I found parking that was $30 total for two nights, two blocks away. Easy decision to save $90. Download SpotHero if you don't already have it. It's amazing. Bonus: despite not parking on-site, the valet guys were great about letting us park temporarily to load and unload. It was really easy and there was space for it. This will definitely be my go-to Austin hotel, moving forward.

Our room had two double beds and was huge - perfect for three girls sharing a space. It had a lounge area with a couch as well as a desk. The bathroom was also spacious and nice with good shower products. One thing I will say is that the air conditioning is VERY loud. I shared a bed with my friend that wasn't directly in front of it, but our other friend in the "tundra" was pretty uncomfortable during the night because it was both cold and loud. Other than that, I enjoyed this hotel. They are so kind to give you free water every time you walk in, which is great!

We had a clean and tidy suite on the first level. Two double beds were comfy and plenty of towels. Our first night's stay was decent. Surprised to know they seem to use softened water because it made our skin feel slippery. I noticed the shower gel holder was falling out of the wall. A precarious situation of having to carefully pull the mechanism to dispense without pulling too hard. I did notify the night staff but the next day, it didn't seem like anyone came to fix it. No extra body wash or soap was provided even when I asked for some. The wall sockets with the en-suite appliances was not usable. The electrical outlets weren't working so we couldn't toast anything, use the kettle, or the coffee machine. Couldn't find one with a GFCI breaker to reset that side so gave up. Interestingly, the full-sized fridge and microwave were working ok though. The rod for one of the window curtains fell off while opening them. Because it's floor to ceiling we just left it alone. The common spaces around the property are well decorated, from the Library, Executive board room, kids corner, gym/yoga studio, and outdoor lounge space. Although, the snack/tea/coffee station with Keurig isn't filled maintained often. We had to ask the night staff to refill the water for tea and the lobby water dispenser was constantly low as well. On our second to last day, I found the hot water and still water station downstairs at Simona's. Pros: Clean, comfy, affordable stay. Enjoyed the bottomless drip coffee $5 and their signature Breakfast at Tiffany's latte. Also appreciated them letting us do late checkout and upgrade our room. Cons: Complimentary water station, Keurig / snack station, overall maintenance of room amenities could be handled better. Warning: If booking from 3rd party (BILT, Capital One Portal...) the added parking is not the same price that's on Colton's House's website. It's actually $40/day (with in/out privileges). However if booking directly through Colton House for stays, parking is 50% off at $20. Would we stay here again in the future? Most likely not. For an SLH property, we may look for another better-maintained option in the future.
