Afterwards, Luis promptly sent the estimate document via text message and provided samples. Once we accepted and chose our roofing material, LCG started work when they said they would. Working to their estimate, LCG removed our old roof, replaced damaged plywood, and installed new roofing and skylights. They were careful and professional throughout. In particular, their clean-up each day was exceptional: it was by far the best of the 3 different roofing jobs I've been involved with in the past few years. Inspection reports and invoices were also conveniently sent by text. Luis kept us informed throughout via text and responded quickly to queries. There were no surprises in the final bill. He explained how he would fix issues and what options we had where things were failing. Anchor Point's quote was very competitive and he agreed to upgrade some of the materials to a higher grade. Their quote included some allowance for wood replacement from dry rot and termites. The "extra" wood is the hidden cost, because you don't know what wood is bad until you do the tear off. Then, you're stuck replacing wood, because it has to be fixed before the inspector can sign off. So the reroof is always the proposal PLUS any damaged wood replacement. So you have to factor that extra cost on top of the base proposal. Despite the companies shorter time in business, I found their knowledge and experience to be great. We didn't select Anchor Point Roofing, but they were a strong contender in roofers. We ended up with a general contractor because we had other work to do besides the roof and we wanted a coordinated project manager to handle the other upgrades as well as the re-roof. The general contractor could also complete the roofing this month and then we could start other projects like exterior painting.
