To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally report a deeply concerning customer service experience I had with Hertz that I believe requires review and appropriate follow-up.
I initially called for assistance because the mobile app, website, and 1-800 customer service line were not functioning properly, preventing me from changing my drop-off location. When I reached a representative named Lala, I explained the technical issues and asked for help. Despite offering several reasonable solutions, she repeatedly stated she was unable to assist me and did not provide any alternatives.
I also informed her that I was extremely ill and actively vomiting, and that I was trying to change my drop-off location to somewhere closer to my home to avoid becoming sick at your office. Despite this, she remained unhelpful and dismissive.
When I requested to speak with a manager, she responded in a confrontational manner, stating her manager was standing right next to her and asked if I still wanted to speak with them. I said yes. I was then placed on hold for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, after which the call was disconnected. When I attempted to call back multiple times, the calls were repeatedly answered and immediately disconnected.
I then contacted another Hertz location, where I was told that changing the drop-off location was absolutely possible, which directly contradicted what I had been told earlier.
When I arrived at the Northridge location, I spoke with a manager named Marissa. While she did offer a $25 adjustment, the situation inside the office was uncomfortable and unprofessional. Lala continued to behave in a disruptive manner, including slamming a water jug and displaying visible hostility. The manager had to intervene and quiet her.
Additionally, despite my condition, I was denied a courtesy ride back home due to distance, leaving me to manage transportation while still feeling very ill.
This experience was unacceptable for several reasons:
* I was denied assistance that was clearly possible
* I was treated dismissively while explaining a legitimate health concern
* I experienced unprofessional and hostile behavior from staff
* My call was mishandled and effectively disconnected after an excessive hold time
* I received inconsistent information across Hertz locations
Given the circumstances, I am requesting a more appropriate resolution, including:
* A review of the employee conduct involved
* A more meaningful refund or compensation for the experience
* Clarification on your policies regarding drop-off changes and customer support
I have been a customer expecting a certain standard of service, and this experience fell far below that expectation.
I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
