Showed up on time and it was 10 minutes before anyone from Hertz came to the counter! When someone did show up she could not have been less helpful or more rude. Manager not helpful either. Finally got my car 45 minutes after my arrival thanks to Janell. She got me my car and couldn't have been nicer. Five stars for her, none for everyone else. To make matters worse when I called Hertz main number they couldn't get anyone to the counter or expedite the process because the airport Hertz business is independent from Hertz. We rented a car at the melbourne airport in fl from Hertz which was a big mistake DO NOT RENT FROM HERZT AT THE AIRPORT AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE RENTING AT A CORPORATE OFFC . Usually the airport for Hertz are francise THEY ARE NOT CORPORATE when you will have problems difinitely they will just tell you to bring back the car were you rented which is a very stupid policy specially if you are on your way to your vacation you will go back to melbourne where you rent your car to change or exchange a deffective car . First of all Hertz cars they dont probably chk it before they give it to customers they just clean it up and ready to rent it again for money no chk up breaks steering wheel and etc ...our car was having a tire issue but these company did not accomodate our request even the car was a bit dangerous to drive ....an hr after we rented the car , on our way to Dytona the car smells like burned rubber which indicate a break issue or allignment we call Hertz they just told us to call customer service and customer service dirnt even know what to suggest ( all dumb) .....believe me Hertz doesnt help they just want your money .....please dont rent to this company .... They dont chk their cars and they dont care if you ll have an accident or lost your vacation days being on the phone, calling for their customer service... they fuck up our vacation for being the phone for almost half a day, going to their authorized shop also as they suggested only to find out the shop will not do the service even if you have the extra insurance coz they want you to bring the car back were you rented ....reason ...we did not rent it according to them in a corporate office ....we werent told it wasnt a corporate ....scumbug people .... read more

BEWARE OF RENTAL: I rank Hertz a -5 on the scale. It started off with Hertz giving away my vehicle and not to mention how RUDE your in-person EMPLOYEES ARE. SO I left without a car. I followed with customer service to make sure I won't be charged. To which, I was a assured that everything is canceled and good to go. I quickly called ENTERPRISE RENTAL to see if they could help..last minute. And YES they did. Now I thought I was done with Hertz, BUT...NO....Hertz charged me over 600.00 for a vehicle I never received. Call #2 to Hertz for all the charges. Hertz stated I have to wait 48hrs after my card is charged and then call back for a 3RD TIME to the a refund. HERTZ.....YOUR COMPANY SUCKS!!!! So when you get in an accident and it's not your fault, Hertz sends a collection company after you called Pur Co Fleet Services harassing you saying you MIGHT owe this amount if the driver who caused the accident's insurance doesn't pay. I rented a car from Hertz because my car was being repaired. They never told me or explained that if I did not fill the gas tank they would in return charge me $13 a gallon when I tried to call for a manager they lied and gave me a false number to another hertz rental! When I tried to call again, they apparently had caller ID and did not answer the phone. I would never rent from this rental place ever again so unprofessional there is young girls working there and they think it is a joke. read more

I rented a full size car through AAA for the discount with Hertz. Full size car equals 5 passenger, 4 bags. What I got was a Ford Ecosport. I had to watch a YouTube video to open the back tailgate and then I had to put the back seats down to get in 1 medium suitcase and 1 carry on suite case. Not anywhere near the full size care I requested. The girl with the long nails told me that was an upgrade and did not adjust my bill. She was insistent that this was an upgrade. I'm not sure what she is used to driving but an ecosport is not an upgrade from a full size care. I left the manager 4 messages with his staff and not once did he call me. Disorganized and terrible. So we took an afternoon flight that got into MCO about 8::25 pm. We got our luggage and headed to the rental counter arriving there around 9:00 pm. There was a long line with 2 agents. One of the agents was tied up for a long time with a group that was obviously having an issue as I can hear the man saying " you took my money and aren't giving me what I paid for". Once we actually got to the counter it was not that long a transaction because we had a reservation. So it's now about 9:45 and we walk to the garage across from the airport to get our SUV we rented. Now the problem starts. 1st off the agent at the counter wrote Gold Q4. So we are looking for Q4. There is no Q4 in Gold. I go to the office in Gold and ask where is this located. They ask where I got this from. I tell them the agent at the counter. They say 'oh she doesn't have accurate information'. Ok fine. Where am I to go to get our Suv? They don't have any. So they offer me a pickup and a Tesla. No I rented the SUV because we needed the room. So they say ok we need to go get it some cars from a different level. Give me like 10 minutes and we'll get you squared away. It took them over an hour. Meanwhile they are bringing up other cars and SUVs but to other parts of the level. My youngest is having a meltdown because we have been waiting for so long. I'm not even sure if they were bringing up an SUV for us specifically but at that point I saw one being brought up and told the attendant I wasn't waiting any longer and he said fine take it. No apologies for the screw up or the terrible service. We still had an hour and 1/2 ride to our destination arriving sometime after 1:00 am. I have never had an issue renting from any of the agencies at the airport. I've never rented with Hertz andI won't be renting with Hertz again. read more

UNBELIEVABLE Just had one of the most awful experiences while trying to pick up a rental car at the Hertz counter in the MLB airport. I prepaid online when I made the reservation weeks ago and received an email confirmation indicating There were no additional charges due when I picked up the vehicle. I reserved a full sized SUV at $60+/day. The vehicle they had for me is not what is normally considered an SUV but a crossover. I could upgrade to an Infiniti Q-something for an additional charge, not doing that. I was then informed of an additional charge that was due. I asked the rental agent that was helping me the reason for the additional charge and started to inform him that it was a prepaid reservation but before I could finish, our conversation was taken over by Justine, another agent that was behind the counter. Justine proceeded to tell me that I was getting the vehicle I'd reserved and the additional charge was "probably" additional or miscomputed taxes. I asked if he knew what I'd reserved and his response indicated he did not. So I asked if he'd step back and let the other agent finish the transaction. Justine then said "just be quiet and pay the additional charges"!!! Surprise at something like that being said, I asked him what he'd said and if he'd just told me to shut up and he responded, "I said be quiet" to which I said it's the same thing. Justine then said if I didn't he'd call the police over and I asked for what, and asked that he please go that. Of course I'm not nearly as calm as I was at the beginning of the rental transaction. Justine goes on and I felt as if he was extremely antagonizing as the initial agent is continuing to try to figure out the source of the additional charge. For whatever reason Justine continues to talk saying things like "you can ask anyone in the terminal and they'll tell you I'm one of the most knowledgeable agents..." i reminded him that he didn't know who I was and that I was the customer, which didn't seem to matter. The other agent, I regret not getting his name so I'll call him Tim, maintains his professionalism while Justine continues to go off behind the Hertz counter for what reason, not sure. This was a prepaid, non refundable reservation and I know how difficult it is to try to get a refund so Tim and I tried to complete the transaction. Tim was never able to determine the source of the additional charge but I took the vehicle anyway, feeling like it's something I can work out later and knowing I needed to walk away before that situation escalated any further. As soon as I got out of the building, I called the Hertz customer relations number on the contract, asked to speak to a supervisor, was told there wasn't one available, so I relayed my complaints about Justine and the additional charge to the person on the other end, again, I regret not getting her name. She told me she would provide the information to a manager and they would call me back within the hour. That was eleven hours ago and no call from anyone. My intentions are to begin with, to file a formal complaint with Justine's employer and go from there. read more

I tried to make a points reservation with Hertz for a weekly rental on December 29th, 2918 The reservation was for Jan 3rd to January 10th. The Hertz system hit an error and could not confirm my reservation but it deducted the points from my Gold Account. I called Hertz to correct the problem but was informed there was nothing reservations could do and I would need to contact the loyalty department on January 2nd, 2019. The company line was quoted with Hertz caring more about their policies and covering themselves than actual customer service. read more

I just returned from a week in Florida, visiting my son. I rented from Hertz at MCO airport in Orlando. It was a terrible experience. I was rented a beat up old Yaris ...the tire blew in Melbourne. AAA changed the tire and said it was defective and I could have been hurt if it had been a front one at high speed. I decided to swap the car out at the Melbourne Airport. Sherry was awesome. She took care of me, no questions asked and upgraded my car. I was lucky there wasn't a line... I think that helped. Yes, I would rent a car from Sherry again...Would I rent from Hertz? Not sure. They seem to really push the "add ons" The previous contract that was left in my 2nd car was for the same duration and the bill was 650ish... Rented a vehicle in Orlando, drove to Melbourne, exchanged vehicle as it was filthy. After three days of driving, low tire pressure indicator began flashing. Tire would not hold air. Hertz stated they changed from corporate to franchise yesterday and could not help me at all. Stated to return the vehicle to the nearest Hertz corporate location....Orlando. We got a car in Ohio to return after our car was totaled while evacuating from Hurricane Irma . We had our pets with us. Hertz agent knew we planned to return to Florida with our pets in the car. At NO point did anyone tell us they had a NO PETS Policy. When we return the car they said thank you have a nice day. Never mentioned that they was going to take $300.00 out of our account for the pets being in the car. Even though the insurance company said they would cover all cost and fees. They will not work with anyone to fix the over draft. They don't tell the truth....never give them any credit card info because they will do you wrong read more

I recently reserved a car and totally screwed up the reservation by selecting pm instead of am on my pick up time. I did not realize the error until I showed up in the morning to pick up the car. I was freaked because I really needed to get out of town. Sherri took care of everything. She was able to help me with a minimum of additional cost.
