This may be the last time that I rent a car from this location. The trainee that he stepped on was very sweet and as helpful as she could be. This is one for the record books. Update: I reached out to the manager, Robert. The voicemail on his cell phone is full so I could not leave a message. I sent him a text message and 36 hours later. I have not had a response. I'm now thinking there are better places to rent cars in the Melbourne area. Avis, this location has lost my business. read more

It seems like I met the same Sebastian that Evelyn from Colorado met back. Avis allowed me to make a reservation on their website, they used my USAA discount, and everything appeared fine. When I arrived at the airport, I wasn't greeted by an agent: one was doing something on the computer, one was playing videos or something on his phone, and one was getting herself a diet coke. The woman finally spoke up and asked if I had a reservation, to which I replied "yes the email said the number is X". She told me they were out of cars and couldn't rent me one, to which I said "Why did the website gave me a reservation if you have no cars?" she said, "I don't know but we were instructed to refuse any reservations made today." I said, "well, I came all the way here to get a car that the website said you had... how can we fix this?" She said, "We aren't giving put cars today". I said, "Well, I came all the way out here for a car they said you have... is there another Avis close by. You need to fix this." The agent said Sebastian is my manager and she turned to him and asked, "are we giving out cars?" He replied, "No we don't got any cars, and we don't have to fix shit". Thankfully the agent place across the way with the yellow sign bent over backwards for me and got a big tip for helping me out of a bind. read more

Provide an adapter in the EV for Tesla EV charging stations. We went to 7 different EV charging station's locations, based on the Navigation system in the vehicle. Three were total red herrings; two led us to a locations that had nothing there. One led to a private business with a big locked gate. One led to a hotel with one bedraggled Tesla charger (there were supposed to be 20 chargers there), Another led us to WaWa lot with at least 20 chargers, all Tesla. The Wawa manager directed us to a Thornton's, six chargers but they wouldn't be operational for another month. A Tesla owner finally told us about non- Tesla chargers at another mall. When we got there, 3 stations of 6 were non- operational, and we were 4th in line. But they were fast chargers, so an hour later we finally were charged to 80%. Avis rental car at Melbourne International has the worst agent I've ever encountered. his name is Sebastian. he told me I had a reservation for an Ev. I told him I needed a vehicle that used fuel. he said for an upcharge he could do that. I told him I would just call and redo my reservation. he said I could not do it and if I didn't like it I could go to Thrifty or Alamo. I proceeded to speak to Avis reservations and they changed my reservation to a car that uses fuel. I went back to him and he insisted I take an Ev, even after I had a new reservation. He told me I would take the Ev or I would not get a car. he then told the three female agents not to rent a car to me. After speaking with two employees at the airport, they said he is always demeaning to customers. Horrible experience. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

So, we were towing a new vehicle to a current customer, and picking up a non operational rented vehicle to tow to the repair shop. 2 of the 3 people at that AVIS counter were extremely rude and had no clue what was even going on. The younger woman behind the counter was great. I'd never suggest renting a vehicle from this company at this location, unless you enjoy being belittled in front of other customers. Do better Avis !! We wasted 30 minutes getting what we needed and the car wasn't even cleaned. Bugs all over the front end, mirrors, and glass. Scratches all over the front fender, chipped paint and dings everywhere. We arrived in Melbourne, Florida Airport at 3:00pm and we didn't get our car until 4:45pm. The line was long and after they took our credit card. We waited for another 45 minutes to get our car because they "don't have the car ready." I don't understand they knew we are coming. We gave them the flights number. it should be in and out. it is should be simple transaction. I HOPE AVIS COMPANY DOES NOT BRING NEGATIVE REVIEWS TOWARD MLB AIRPOR BECAUSE IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AIRPORT. I would suggest for the management team to come up with strategies before people stop flying to MLB. You will lose some major international guests. There were 25 people from Scotland and they were not happy. So many unhappy customers yesterday. It is sad to see it happened at MLB. read more

I came in with high hopes, but that front lady was so rude, cold and gave off the persona of not wanting to help. Honestly, if it could put zero stars, I would, which I don't believe I've EVER said. I was shocked when I asked the lady for a Tacoma and she made it seem like they didn't have a truck. After I told her that I saw on the website that they indeed had one, she then agreed with me. While we were going to put down the card, the total she had was SIGNIFICANTLY different. I gasped then showed her my phone, which was below her 3 digit total and proceeded to tell her I'll just do it online. Oh boy, did she get upset. Quickly she remarked with, well it may not be here tomorrow. Sure lady, my dad and I walked through the parking lot and there were multiple Tacoma's in their Avis lot along with larger trucks. Avis car rental in the Melbourne airport is okay. They share the desk with another rental car agency. They have a preferred membership I recommend joining its free. The car was very fuel efficient but rentals since the pandemic are not as clean in appearance as far as the interior and exterior of the vehicles. My rental had dirty floor mats and the trunk had stains in it. The outside of the vehicle had some minor cosmetic damages but the vehicle was good. Because the airport is smaller there were only two rental agencies available and I selected Avis. The service by Representative Lis or Lia was good. She got me into my car despite my arrival was earlier than booked so I am grateful of her helping me. If ever traveling in Melbourne I'd recommend Avis car rentals at the airport. read more

AVOID!! We arrived at Melbourne airport expecting to pick up a 7 seater suv as we pre booked weeks in advance to then be told there was nothing available for us? We then started to address we had paid in full and filled it all the requirements online and the lady was very rude and told us if we wanted she would upgrade us to a 12 seater bus but we would need to pay extra for all the extra seats? Why would we want to drive a 12 seater bus we only have 4 kids and at the point they are all sobbing and wanting to get out of the airport we spent an hour there trying to work out the next option when another man come over and offered us a lend of the mini van go to Orlando air port and swap it for the suv as they have 32 in stock. We did this it wasted the whole first day of the holiday when we arrived at Orlando they had no idea we was coming they had no suv available and couldn't help luckily some one returned there keys while we was there and they allowed us to take This as it was not cleaned but we was just happy to try get something and go to the hotel there were dents and marks over the car and the number plate was bent to one side we got them to write this all down. Considering they were very layed back about it all never did I think after coming home I would get a $450 valleting bill saying the car was left in such a bad mess. When I asked for the proof there is clean seats clean dash some biscuit crumbs on the floor and a toy wrapper this litrally happened in the airport while unloading our stuff I genuinely think it's disgusting how we have been treated and won't not use Avis again! read more

Our rental car has a bulging tire. Rather than drive a long distance on it we called roadside service and they quickly arranged for us to swap cars at the Melbourne airport. Their text instructions said do not wait in line and that there was a car reserved for us. The jerk at the counter us making us wait in a long slow line. When I questioned that he threaten to call security on me! He also says he may or may not have a car for us. Never again will we rent from Avis. We are longtime preferred Wizard customers. Truly a new low in customer service: grumpy, angry, unhelpful. First the agent told me they didn't have any cars even though I prepaid. Because I was early I asked if I should wait to pick up the car she told me, "no". Once I completed the paperwork she then told me I needed to return it early even though I had previously asked if I needed to wait to check in. Nobody should be treated this way by anyone. I'm shocked that AARP considers Avis a "partner" after this experience. I Intend to file complaints with both organizations. There's a certain cruelty to people who treat others like they think they are scum. There were two of them behind the counter doing this. This location is horrible I had reserved a vehicle for business purposes and unfortunately I encountered Sebastian. What should have been a simple pick up since I had a reservation and confirmation turned into a prolonged comedy of errors. When Sebastian could not locate my reservation he turned to a senior employee, Franklyn, simply added to the delay by not help him and only offering limited assistance prolonging the delay. They rented us a cockroach infested passenger van that we had to pay for ourselves to get Professionally cleaned. We have spoken to multiple people both on the phone and at the counter no one was able to help us. They didn't offer us a new vehicle and we have sent these images to them and now are not replying to us. This is by far the worst location to rent, I'm a presidents club member and I'm routinely given the worst cars on the lot. There is no Preferred service so you have to wait in line for service. The membership agreement states a free upgrade but these guys give my the junkies cars they can find. I'm going to cancel and rebook with the Avis at Cape Canaveral. I reserved a vehicle nearly 2 weeks prior to the date of needing the vehicle. I reserved a small SUV. When I arrived I was told the only vehicle available was a Nissan Altima. I found this completely unacceptable. If you know a customer reserved a vehicle with ample time to have the type of car they reserved it should be done. All I received were excuses from the manager. Rented a car for my trip as a one-click add on from Priceline - I guess i could have been a little more wary, but how small can a compact be? Barbi at the counter chuckled when she checked me in - I'm over 6' as was my co-traveler - she generously offered me a reasonably priced upgrade to a Taurus, but the boss approved the price already, so we took the compact. She tossed me the keys to the Fiat - yes, it was actually a Fiat - and told us it was parked out front "in the back of an SUV". Our week in the Fiat went just like that - it gave us something to laugh at. Returning the car was equally easy - 8 minutes at the counter, a quick stop through TSA, and I was headed home. An overall good experience, dinky car, but the folks at the counter did a good job. read more

Don't ever rent from here , after reserving and preparing for a car and driving to the airport Avis said I have no reservation, then called corporate and they advised me that the reservation is confirmed and told the employees that my reservation is confirmed. Employees then said we have no cars available instead of being honest and telling me there was no reservation. After a hour of back and forth they then tried to charge me for a upgrade. I rented from this place and locked the keys in the car instead of returning them to the counter. Big mistake on my part for after hour return. Barbara helped me out tremendously and took the entire responsibility for the keys and didn't charge for the whole time they didn't have the car for rental. Such a blessing to have been helped by Ozzy, Sarah and Danielle when I went in with my mum and my son and had some trouble with my credit card in the midst of the coronavirus problem leaving me unable to call for help and after doing all he could Ozzy said I could return back tomorrow if I was able to get my card sorted. Come the next day and card once again able to be used I had the kindest most beautiful two women, Sarah and Danielle who got everything back up from yesterday and went above and beyond in every way in helping me to have such a great experience in every way just as Ozzy gave me the day before and I cant thank the three of them enough for the trouble they went through to make the best of a difficult situation I was dealing with. I have been an Avis Preferred Member for years traveling all over the country and the Melbourne Intl Airport Avis location was the worst experience I have ever had. I landed in Melbourne, I used the Avis app to select the car I wanted and when I got to desk they seemed to have no knowledge of the mobile app even existing. I had selected a different car then they originally had scheduled and claimed that the app must be wrong and there was nothing they could do. The car they gave me was an older model and didn't even have a key fob, so I had to manually lock and unlock the car via the key. Also, the reservation was never changed back to the original rental, so the paperwork said I was renting a completely different car than I actually was given. As you can imagine the disconnect between the actual car and the record was an issue when I went to return the car (which again you had to do at the counter after noting the mileage yourself; surprising to see no Avis staff at the drop-off location). The guy behind the desk didn't understand how to close the reservation and ended up telling me "it's no problem, you're all set you're Avis Preferred" so I took his word for it an left for my flight with no paperwork, expecting an email would arrive shortly. Fast forward to the following week, I have still received no email, and when I look at the mobile app it says the rental has not yet been returned. So not only does the record reflect a car that I was never given, it says that I didn't return it! I had to call customer service to get the reservation closed, and even with that being successful the paperwork still does not reflect the car I actually drove during the rental. The Melbourne Airport location is extremely disorganized and I hope I do not have to rent from there ever again. This has definitely made me consider switching to another car rental service. read more
