They have bbq grills, picnic tables, and open green spaces to have parties (lots of family reunions were held there too). Folks are nice. Clean rooms. If you have business at UVA, you can walk depending where it is. If you are going to the law school, the JAG school, or Business school you can walk. It is a long walk - about 10 - 15 minutes depending where you are going. You must go through the woods on a well marked trail for about 30 seconds (if it is raining, wear tennis shoes because it is mucky and you can slip and ruing your clothes), then you end up at the softball fields, go across to get to the parking lot. Go up a million stairs to the JAG parking lot. You can either walk around the JAG barriers to get to the business school, or take more steps to get closer to the JAG school, law school, and business school. You can also walk down the hill to Barracks Road shopping center. Lots of shopping and restaurants (on days you don't eat at the Residence Inn). Just park your car and walk!

This company is the most awful and unreliable business I have ever worked with. I have never left a…read morenegative review, but if you are considering working with this company then you need to hear our experience. My husband and I booked two buses for our wedding to Mount Ida (a very well established, reputable wedding venue in Charlottesville owned by a group of lawyers) for October of 2021. We booked the buses months in advance with multiple conversations confirming our reservation. At midnight the morning of our wedding, Dan Goff emailed (he did not even have the courtesy to call) my husband cancelling our reservation leaving us less than 24 hours to find two charter buses for 150 guests. This led to excessive stress and lack of sleep, as you can imagine, that a bride and groom should not have to deal with on their wedding day. Dan Goff took no responsibility for his actions blaming the venue for requiring a last minute waiver which is false - I have attached our correspondence with our wedding coordinator and the venue. Given that the venue is owned by a group of lawyers, they were very transparent and professional with all correspondence between their company and Dan Goff. In an attempt to get a clear answer to why our reservation was cancelled so last minute we tried reaching out to A Goff transportation, and Dan Goff would not answer our calls. We later found out from our venue he knew earlier in the week he would not have enough drivers for our event but instead of letting us know that when he found out, he elected to tell us the morning of our wedding. We had these emails forwarded to us from the venue. Dan Goff is a nightmare to work with, and I recommend if you are looking for reliable transportation to look elsewhere. No one should have to deal with the amount of stress he caused my husband and I, and he never once apologized or took accountability for his actions.

I was trying to get to Petersburg WV before my dad passed. The flight from Charleston was 1 hour and 15 minutes late leaving. I missed my connection in Dulles. These ladies moved heaven and earth to get me to Charlottesville VA. This was my first flight with United, but it won't be my last. Exceptional service from exceptional ladies!!!!

Stayed here for a nice weekend getaway to see family and hike. Sorely needed…read more This B&B is beautiful and welcoming. Pat and his wife are so kind and accommodating. The house has been redone and the decor inside is new and contemporary but still fits with the period of the older home. Rooms are beautiful, clean and well-kept and there was a Roku on the tv with wifi. The back door has a keypad lock so you can come and go as you please with ease and there was a welcome package with snacks, jam, and a handwritten welcome note. Location is great because, with ample parking in the back of the home, you can walk around the town to antique, explore and eat at one of a dozen or more restaurants. They don't do the traditional breakfast but had a small bar well-stocked with coffee, tea, bananas, fresh pastries, and juice and water. Enough for me! Usually I kind'a wanna go out and explore on my own anyway and the town has several nice places for brunch (Spoon and Spindle was my fav). Pat was great and communicative through email/text but wasn't hovering in the way some B&B owners are. There to greet me but then left me alone to enjoy the stay but was available for questions if I had any.... perfect! Would absolutely come back any time.

Pat and Monica were excellent hosts. Every room was well decorated, well maintained, and clean. The common areas are beautiful and, once again, well maintained. Every morning the Keurig coffee maker was filled with water and ready, with cups, along with bottled water. Pat or Monica would check in periodically and were very responsive the few times we needed them. Finally, the Holladay House is located in downtown Orange. There are excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance. If you are staying in Orange, or close by, we highly recommend staying at the Holladay House.

While we knew the place had some old-time feel to it, there were some things that were a bit unexpected such as the bathroom door not closing and the TV being broken. The thing is that we weren't there to watch TV so that was minor (and clearly can be easily replaced). We found out quickly that when something goes wrong, the team in the Mark Addy will go far out of their way to try to accommodate you to the best of their ability. Without losing a step we were given access to an additional room in the event that we were too warm in the Kensington. We took advantage of that one night, it was not even necessary the second night so it was hardly an issue. In the evenings there was sangria provided, which was not only delicious but a really nice touch. By the second night we were already looking forward to it! What can't be overstated is how delicious the included breakfast is. I honestly was expecting the typical continental type breakfast. I was very mistaken. Their menu is creative, fresh, and absolutely delicious. It was more of a treat than it was just a meal. Overall, the place is an old-ish inn with some character. You're not going to find some modernized place and, yeah there are some quirky things that could be fixed. However, it's a whole FEEL that you get from this place and the view from the front is gorgeous. Add that to the quality of the treatment and food and I think you have a solid winner. I'm grateful for our great experience and that the Mark Addy went out of their way to make sure were were comfortable and happy!

Ok, Baby, the parrot(?) wasn't always friendly until you give it a pet on the back of the neck :-) This was my first experience staying at a B&B so be aware some of my comments may not apply to you the reader. My first feeling was a little discomfort about staying in someone's house but the staff make you feel pretty welcomed. Breakfast is served at 9am and is a set menu which is understandable considering there's only 1 or 2 working the kitchen and dining area. Just to give you an idea of the servings, the common theme was a good healthy and hearty breakfast starting with either a fruit bowl or yogurt then a dish with eggs, meat and a carb. The meal always held until around 2pm or so. And in the evening there was always a plate of chocolate chip and white chocolate chip cookies along with a pitcher of some good sangria in the fridge in the common area kitchen. The room was very comfortable with a small flat screen TV and a couple of chairs in addition to the comfortable bed. The bathroom in the room was on the small side but very usable. Although the place is just off the main highway leading into Nellysford, it was over 30 mins from the big city in Charlottesville, so your choices for lunch and dinner were limited unless you went to the big city. If winery/meadery/distillery/brewery/cidery tours is your thing, they have plenty close by. I would recommend a stop at Hill Top winery/meadery just up the road. Overall, I would definitely recommend it. And if you decide to stay, give Baby a pet on the back of the neck and say "hey!" Just don't stick your finger in too quick or it may not come back to you! :-)

At 5:35 I called Cville taxi to see where the driver was. They said they would "look for one," then they passed me to "Accounts," where I was told to call back in 10 minutes [!!]. I canceled and tried Uber and Lyft, but no one was closer than 14 minutes away. So I had to drive my car and park it at the airport for $13/day x 9 days. Bad enough they charge $25 for a 10-minute ride (plus tip), but then they can't even schedule a driver to be on time wit 18 hrs notice and prepaid? Seriously.
