I am glad we chose this location. Sam helped us pick the right vehicle we wanted to purchase. He helped us because we were indecisive and didn't know what to pick until the last minute. We signed the paperwork and got our beautiful car the same day with the help of Sam. Definitely recommend him!! read more

Outstanding experience with Arturo After taking my vehicle to several other shops that only seemed interested in collecting money without actually fixing the problem, I was ready to hire a lawyer and return the car to Kia. Then I met Arturo at Herson's Kia. He carefully inspected everything, went the extra mile by consulting with the manager, and worked out both a better repair solution and a more reasonable price. Thanks to his thoroughness and genuine effort, I left with a truly positive result. I had previously believed that Kia service was generally poor, but Arturo completely changed my mind. He is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly cares about his customers. I highly recommend Arturo to anyone who needs honest, high-quality service. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Herson's Kia. The vehicle came with a warranty, and while it was inconvenient, I brought it back to the dealership several times because I was experiencing a noticeable jerk/hesitation between approximately 25-35 mph. Each time, I was told that the technicians could not find or duplicate the problem. Because the issue was very consistent for me, I even offered to leave the vehicle with the dealership so a mechanic could drive it and experience the problem firsthand. That offer was declined. Fast-forward a few years, and the problem has become significantly more noticeable. This time, the dealership was able to duplicate the issue, but because the vehicle is now out of warranty, I was told they would not repair it. I am now facing an estimated $13,000 repair bill for a problem that I repeatedly reported to the dealership while the vehicle was still under warranty. I understand that warranties have expiration dates, but I find it extremely frustrating that the same issue I reported multiple times while the vehicle was covered was not properly diagnosed at that time. The fact that the dealership can now reproduce the problem makes the previous "could not duplicate" responses particularly disappointing. Had the issue been investigated more thoroughly when I first reported it, or had the dealership accepted my offer to keep the vehicle and have a mechanic drive it, the situation might have been very different. Based on this experience, I am very unhappy with the service and diagnostic work I received from Herson's Kia. I expected much better from a dealership, and this experience has significantly affected my trust in them. I would be very hesitant to purchase another vehicle from them or recommend them to others. read more

I had an issue with the passenger window of my 2024 Kia Seltos yesterday. It would only close half-way up and it looked like the gasket was blocking it. It was already late in the day, 5 PM, and I was worried about the rain. I drove it to Herson's KIA, where I bought it and since it was so late in the day they would have to address it the next day. They re-assurred me that they would keep my car in indoors in case it rained which was a relief. This morning, I received a message from the service advisor, Brian Cuello that it was in fact the gasket which was dried out due to the recent extreme heat and that was the only issue. Herson's covered it under warranty, lubed and reinstalled the window and he even arranged for a ride pick-up to help me get back to their shop. Thanks for getting me back on the road and for having my back Brian! read more

This may be the last time I ever go to this location. My service advisor, Brian Cuello, has no respect for customers' time and repeatedly provided false or contradictory information in an apparent attempt to cover up mistakes. On 11/21/25, my car shut off in the middle of the road and was towed by AAA to Herson Kia, 15531 Frederick Rd, Rockville, MD 20855. I met with Brian (who had helped me before with quick services like oil changes). Because the car did not arrive until around 4:30 PM, I was advised it could not be serviced until Monday, 11/24/25. I asked for a loaner since I would be without a car for several days, but was told none were available. I understood and arranged my own ride. On 11/25/25, I was told my car was ready and picked it up. Due to the holidays, I didn't drive it much. On 11/28/25, I noticed the driver-side brake light was out. Thinking it might be related to why the car shut off, I returned to the dealership and spoke with Brian again. I waited almost three hours for him to tell me it was a burnt bulb and that replacing it would cost $90. I questioned this because I had been told the vehicle had LED lights, but Brian said he double-checked and confirmed the bulb was burnt. I declined the service. I forgot about the issue until 01/01/26, when I was pulled over and given a warning for the brake light. I returned to the dealership on 01/02/26. After waiting about 40 minutes, Brian told me there was no bulb at all and that a part needed to be ordered, which completely contradicted what I had previously been told. On 01/06/26, I received an email stating the part had arrived. Brian never called. When I called him, he claimed he had contacted me, which he had not. When I asked to speak to a manager, he was hesitant to provide the information. Only after I insisted did he give me his manager's number. The manager was apologetic and arranged a loaner car so I wouldn't miss work. On 01/07/26, I came in during my lunch break just to drop off the car and pick up the loaner. Brian took my license, insurance, and debit card and told me it would take 5 minutes. I waited 35-40 minutes with no update and no help. I was eventually rushed out without paperwork, and my cards had been held the entire time. I later had to call again to get the paperwork, which Brian claimed he sent but had not. At this point, I am extremely concerned about how my personal and financial information was handled. Brian's apology did not feel sincere, as he continued to justify his actions and provide excuses. Be aware of this service department. Retraining and better oversight are clearly needed. read more

Herson's Kia exceeded my expectations--again! I came in for service today and heard about a recall for fluids in my EV. Suzie and the service department got me scheduled for a same-day appointment for the recall and even gave my EV a free car wash. Stopping by the showroom, I chatted with Jazz about the features on newer Kia EVs. I'm super happy with the vehicle I'm in. It's safe, quiet, and cheap to charge. And it's fun to drive. I can't imagine going back to driving a gasoline-powered car, and I recommend EVs and Herson's to all my friends. read more

I want to thank Brian in the Service Dept. On May 8th he solved a problem in seconds that no one at KIA's corporate Customer Service Dept. or the Service Dept. of another KIA dealership could do:; namely, he sat in the car and corrected the latest example of endless frustrating glitches in AUTO PLAY not prompted by any changes made by me. This one: disappearance of a voice to accompany the screen map in GPS directions. I had spent literally hours at another dealership and in phone calls to Customer Service only to be told nothing more could be done except to have my car hooked up for three hours for some system upgrade. Brian knows what he's doing, saved me HOURS and most importantly restored my sense of safety in now hearing, directions without having to constantly look at the screen in heavy traffic or dark of night. Update: kudos to Arturo Campos, service advisor at Kia Hersons service. I wanted to check tires before a travel. Was concerned since got into a hole at a road work site. Came on Saturday early morning without an appointment as the travel was soon. Arturo got the car in right away. He was attentive to the concern, the check was done timely, he took time to review with me and explain. And no charge since the tires were ok and no work needed. Thank you for your excellent assistance with all Kia service needs. read more

In a world where good customer service is hard to find, I found perfect customer service at Herson's Kia. I live 700 miles away, but I was on the search for a very specific Kia Carnival at MSRP. Most dealers are charging thousands over, but Herson's had one in stock. I called on Monday and had a very nice conversation with Alison Ramirez (business development consultant). She immediately put me in touch with Jazz Delos Santos (manager) , who promised he would hold the vehicle for me until I could fly up on Friday. Throughout the week, Alison and Jazz touched base, answered all of my questions, and continued to promise the van would not be sold. I landed Friday morning and taxied to the dealership. Upon arrival, the van was sitting out front, clean, ready to test drive. Jazz welcomed me into the dealership, introduced me to his colleague Jonathan Valencia (sales consultant) who would handle the sale. Throughout the process, they were knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and made the experience a pleasure. I actually had fun. After the drive, I was introduced to Jonathan Delacruz-Garcia, who would handle the finance aspect. We walked into his office, with paperwork ready, pen on top, and chair pulled. He told me they had all been advised I was flying in early, had a long drive ahead and wanted to be ready for me to sign and leave. He also told me how much the owner of the dealership values employees and how well they are treated, which explains the unparalleled amount of enthusiasm and professionalism that I encountered. In the middle of signing paperwork, I asked if they were going to put a front license plate on, since I didn't want holes unnecessarily drilled as it's not required where I live. Jonathan G called Jonathan Valencia, who then literally ran out the door and over to the van to stop the drilling process. I've never seen someone run at work before...Amazing. After we wrapped up, they topped the gas tank off and I was on my way. The experience was so pleasant that when I buy my next Kia, I will fly to DC, take a taxi to Herson's, and do this all over again. The 12 hour drive home was worth it just to experience what customer service should be like. Words can't describe it, you have to go experience it for yourself. I am back again for another oil change! I received the same friendly greeting upon entering. Looking up my name was quick and easy. I had an appointment for Black Friday morning. I was a few minutes late. Being on time in the morning is one of my shortcomings. The waiting room had free coffee! There are big cushion comfortable chairs and regular chairs to choose from. With a view of the showroom you can see the new Kia's as you wait and watch or just listen to the television. Family bathrooms are available. They are very clean with fun motion sensor hand dryer sinks! Service prices are what you expect from a dealership but not bad. They always do a courtesy inspection of my vehicle. I purchased a used vehicle from Hersons in September 2024. I live more than an hour away, but would make the drive in the future just to work with them again. They were very communicative, fair and overall had excellent customer service. Even after I purchase the vehicle, I had to return for the floor mats and extra key they promised and they made it so easy. A couple of months ago, I purchased a vehicle from Herson's Kia. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience. I've since been there a number of times for various reasons: 1. Drop off paperwork (title, etc) 2. Get door protector/trim replaced - not great that it started coming off within a week of purchase 3. To pick up rubber cargo tray for the trunk - wrong one was ordered, instead they ordered the carpet cargo mat that I already had which had already come with the car 4. To go back again after they ordered the actual rubber cargo tray only to be told by the Parts department the original carpet cargo map was what they had for me; I assured the person I was there only days prior and that was not it and that the voicemail I received specifically indicated it was the cargo tray with the correct retail price for the rubber cargo tray. I left extremely unhappy. It's a one hour round trip waste of my time and incredibly frustrating. Phone calls to the dealership are a waste of time. Nearly every time I call, I end up in a voicemail that has no name associated with it. And based on the lack of call backs after leaving voicemails there, I can only assume those are black holes for transferring people to so they don't have to deal with you. So far, my impression of Herson's Kia has been going downhill pretty quickly. I will say that nearly everyone there has been very pleasant and usually helpful. But there's only so much frustration and time I'm willing to waste. For now, 3 stars and let's see where it goes from here. Update: Josh contacted me quickly and indicated there'd been a misunderstanding; he delivered the cargo tray to me the next day. Service like that gets them a fourth star. read more

The Kia EV6 I bought is an excellent car although the price was high. However, the salesman failed to give my insurance information to my agent despite he had my insurance card. I strongly recommend the car but buy it from another dealer then Hersons. read more

Simple oil change botched I went for a routine oil change for my new Kia. Wait was acceptable. I was there approximately three hours which included a car wash upon returning home. Oil was leaking from underneath the car. Additionally, the car smelled from burnt oil. I went back to Kia the following day and had to wait an additional two hours for them to fix a simple oil change issue that they created. The young gentleman behind the desk was courteous enough however I got no apologies for their issue. I find it ridiculous that I had to spend 5 to 6 hours over two days to get an oil change for a new car. On top of that, my driveway has quite a few oil stains, I asked for the manager. I was told none were available. I left a message for some manager and received no callback. I am very disappointed in their service and if they can't do a simple oil change, it makes me wonder if they could do anything more meaningful additionally, they do not value their customers time and at least gave me an apology or recognize that I had to go out of my way on a Friday and a follow up on a Saturday because of their incompetence, I would expect something from the service department at a dealership for some level of compensation or at least recognition of them trying to make the customer service correct and compensate me for my time. Do not go. There are many other options in the area I plan on giving them my service in the future. read more

I did all of my homework. By the time I actually went to the dealership, I knew that the car I wanted was on their lot. I had the sticker number, an appointment, a quote, and the paperwork I needed for the trade-in. Working with Perla online upfront was super-pleasant and productive. It was a cash sale so I figured it would be all be super easy and pleasant. When I arrived, Edwin took me through the car, I knew it was what I wanted, and it was all good to go. And then.... I sat down with the paperwork guy and it all fell apart. By that time, I had been at the dealership for an hour, mostly just waiting around; I'm not exactly sure for what but it was OK. Then I met with THAT guy and it all went downhill because... wow. Like I said, I was paying cash and I wasn't interested in listening to the many levels of "extras" he wanted to talk through. The first time I said I wasn't interested, he pushed, and when repeated that I wasn't interested, I got "why"? At which point, I told him... I've been here for a long time,I know what I want, I have your check written, and I'm ready to go. He actually said "you've only been in my office for five minutes" and then told me that "buying a car isn't supposed to be a quick process". Well... it can be but it's not if you're going to get snippy because I know what I want and don't want to listen to your complete sales pitch! And then I get home and find out that he didn't let me create a password I needed to access the buyer's documents, so I have to call the company again and, yup, my car buying process is going to get a bit longer. I'd like to reiterate that Edwin and Perla were lovely, though. read more

If I could give them zero star for service I would! I don't know why I did not stop going to this dealer for our Kia Sorento service sooner! Two different occasions technicians left the lug nut loose after tire rotations and I was lucky to notice it accidentally! I called the service manager to complain but to my surprise he took it very lightly. The last blow came about a year and half ago when our Kia Sorento shifter got stuck in park position so I called the service, took the truck there! big mistake!! incompetent tech guy unnecessarily replaced three parts on three different occasions without fixing the issue and finally they gave me BS telling me the issue is related to ECU (on back order for 6 months) and it would cost $2500 to fix it. I called and visited countless Kia Dealerships around Maryland and Virginia and NONE were willing to help with buying a Sportage 2023 X-PRO Prestige. They simply stated that they only had a few cars, didn't know when they would be getting any in (reasonable due to microchip supply-demand issues), and were marking up prices by +$10,000. Prior to coming in, Liya was able to assist me with scheduling an appointment to come in. She was proactive and kind. Upon arriving to the dealership yesterday, Sunday 20 minutes before closing, I was helped by a gentleman named Isaac Ulate. Isaac knew what he was talking about when it came to the different trims of the car (other salesman I spoke to at other locations couldn't tell me the difference, although I already had known). He was patient and offered to order the Sportage I wanted with ease. I was in utter shock given the circumstances that all other dealerships weren't willing to do this and were simply just trying to get rid of the cars they already had. The process with Isaac was easy and smooth. I ended up staying 30 minutes after closing time and Isaac did not rush me, but took his time to give me as much details as he could about the entire process and pricing. I really appreciate a salesman who cares not just about making their sales, but about ensuring the customer gets what they need with honesty and kindness. ISAAC ULATE WAS AWESOME!!! Dealerships all around need a salesman like him. Thanks to Isaac, I will be able to finally get my hands on a new Kia Sportage 2023 X-PRO Prestige when I thought it was mission impossible before I came in. Thank you again Isaac and team for being GREAT! I will definitely be coming ONLY to this dealership in the future for any future car purchases for KIA. read more
