I was told they couldn't figure out the issue so they need to call Toyota headquarters which takes a whole. Couldn't wait longer so I rescheduled. May 2022: on my rescheduled trip, I waited eight hours for them to tell me they contacted the headquarters to fix it but of course it was not fixed. I did lose faith July 2022: came back to drop off for the same issue. I found out that back in October 2021 Springfield Toyota installed my break pad and associated parts incorrectly so it was making a cracking noise. Therefore Fitzgerald was able to put on new hardware to fix the whole issue. I tell you once my issue was fixed my life was so much easier. Thank you to the technician that figured out the issue finally. I am satisfied. The one less star was because when I picked up the car the lady who processed my pickup was less than enthused to work there. read more

Review of Fitzgerald Toyota Gaithersburg - Selling My Vehicle My experience selling a truck to this dealership was extremely frustrating and I would caution anyone considering doing the same. They require sellers to deliver the vehicle to the dealership, stating they will reimburse the cost of a rental car for the trip home since they do not pick vehicles up. I followed their process exactly and rented a car for the return trip. Despite multiple attempts to contact them afterward, I was never reimbursed for the rental they recommended. . Payment was also delayed. They received the title on February 5th but did not issue payment until February 13th, and that only occurred after I reached out twice asking for an update. Another concerning point: the truck was listed for sale on their website before they had paid me or even received the title. To make matters worse, my license plates were never returned. I have documentation of the agreements, the premature listing, timeline of title delivery and payment, and my attempts to follow up about the rental reimbursement. Overall this process felt disorganized, poorly communicated, and far more difficult than it should have been. If you plan to sell a vehicle here, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and being prepared for delays, last-minute price changes, and follow-up issues. read more

God bless Chris Ogene at Fitzgerald Toyota in Gaithersburg Maryland! I am sorry it took me so long to write this review, but it needed to be written. We think that the people should be able to buy the car they want without all the song/dance and lies that is the stock and trade of most car dealers we have met/interacted with over the years. Chris is the exception to whatever you think a car dealer is-- he is forthright, honest and crystal clear. He does what he says he will do, plain and simple. Here is our story: It all started when my valiant (but aging) 2006 Prius was sideswiped and squashed on Christmas Eve in 2024, while parked next to my house on a residential street. It was deemed a total loss. So we went on "Prius quest" for a new car in the greater northwestern Virginia area. We contacted lots of dealers-- and many more contacted me with promises of cars that either never existed, or that were miraculously "sold" when we came to look. Every dealer has an alternate car that was "just as good or better"than what we wanted-- they said. "Priuses are hard to come by" said others. Every dealer put me on speed dial/email streaming to tell me about a car that we did not want, or promising a Prius that is "just coming in." Lies-- all lies. Then we found Chris Ogene at Fitzgerald Motors. He not only had a 2024 Prius, but it was also the color we preferred-- wind chill pearl white. We were skeptical-- having been bait and switched to death at this point--but he set us up the following day to do a test drive on this 2024 white Prius. We went to Gaithersburg, MD-- which is a haul from the upper Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia where we live-- around 1 and 1/2 hours-- not counting traffic delays. We took that leap of faith-- and when we got there (2 hours later), Chris was on top of everything. He had the car we liked. He arranged a test drive and answered all our questions-- including questions that owe had not even thought of to ask. He was the most straight forward car salesman we have ever dealt with. He let the car sell itself. We expressed concern about cost of repairs on all the new computer assisted features-- a valid concern since there was talk of tariffs and surcharges on parts from other countries. He sent us to discuss warranty and protection options with the specialist at Fitzgerald Motors. This man simply set out the various costs -- BEFORE Tariffs or surcharges might kick in---- for various "worst case scenarios." (My husband is a "what if/worse case scenario" kind of guy). The likelihood of these items/features failing was extremely low; the cost to repair or replace various items (particularly the computerized warning features that drew us in to the Prius in the first place) was much higher than I had expected. WE opted for the best coverage available to us, not because anyone pushed us to do it, but because they laid out the options so straight forwardly, we were able to make an informed choice. Our last Prius lasted from 2006- 2024-- 18 years and nearly 300,000 miles. The biggest problem we had with it was people cutting out and stealing the catalytic converter, which apparently has some significant value. We bought the new Prius from Chris and his people, and we could NOT be HAPPIER. Shortly after we bought our new Prius, tariffs were announced-- making us all the more grateful that we found a man to sell us a car without pressure or false promises. Chris had what he said he did, and we were able to drive away with our car the same day. The bottom line is this: If you want false promises and bait and switch, do not go to Chris Ogene at Fitzgerald Motors. If you know what you want, or can at least have a clear idea of the features and options you require, just ask Chris. He can make it happen for you. Thanks Chris... Have Been taking my 2 Hyundai cars at service dept. for the last 10 years . Recently had mayor repairs done on one of them and regular servicing of the other for a total of $4500- Took my daughters to get the locks on the back doors replaced since they were not opening correctly and it was a hazard for her baby locked up incase of an emergency. Paid $230 to diagnosed what already we knew it was going on to tell me they didn't have the parts. Was quoted $1600 and was under the understanding that a credit of $230 will apply to the bill once the job was done. 2 weeks later took it back got the job done. At the time to pay was charge $1642- ask for the credit and was told that was not applied because the car was diagnosed and that was a separate charge! When challenge was told that if it was a credit they would have written that on the original bill and would not accept the fact that I took it to get the locks change no need to diagnose, response... well we needed to diagnose to make sure that you needed them replaced. THIVERY, SCamming loyal costumers and at the end I could have bought an used car with 5 years warranty for the money I paid on repairs. Damn if you do and damned if you don't. Very frustrated. I took the car in due to a broken part on the rear view mirror casing. This was on the bottom of the assembly but did not involve the workings of the mirror. All worked properly still. They did NOT fix the part of the casing that was broken but instead replaced another part of the mirror that WAS NOT broken and charged me for that. URG!!! read more

Was looking for a car and sent a mass email to many dealerships. This place replied and we went back and forth trying to find the right. I arrive at the dealership on a weekend and it was very busy so there was no one to help us. Had to wait 20-30 min just to see someone. The sale person Mary-Ann didn't even know about any update to the 2023 RAV4. Another downside of this dealership is that they don't allow down payment on a car on a credit card like other dealership. The dealership is configured to maintain social distancing and the common area (coffee/water) is now closed. But your salesperson (again ask for Johnny!) can you get whatever you need. Because the vehicle I wanted was unavailable in the color I wanted, they were able to obtain one from a different dealership location. This was awesome knowing that I didn't have to get a car with ugly two toned car interior I really didn't like at all. I must also mention Santos who made the last stretch of completing the paperwork seamless and fun. It was probably the most efficient processing experience ever. I scheduled an appointment for the 5K maintenance on my new vehicle and went inside to check-in. I stood in line for a good 10+ minutes as the front desk representatives ignored me. Then they called me up, got me checked in and said they'd come get me when my car was done. I waited over 2 hours for my car to get a simple tire rotation and filter change and had to check in for a status update. I went back a second time for my 15K service hoping it would be better because it was a Friday appointment at 11:15 AM. I dropped off my vehicle, checked in, and waited outside the building over 2 hours with no signs of my car. I go inside to check on the progress and the guy said they hadn't even started working on my car yet! Idk what the point of an appointment is if they don't honor it and I was told it should only take 1.5 hours. They didn't apologize or show any care for the fact they had NOT serviced my vehicle, wasted my time, and provided terrible customer service a second time. In addition, the service comes with a complimentary car wash and it's been broken since the first time I took my car in over a year ago. There is one employee named Mike who runs and gets the vehicles and is extremely nice and deserves a raise for trying to help this place run like a business. However, I do not recommend going here if you want to get your car back at a reasonable time. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars, I truly do. I buy a certified pre-owned car from these lovely people, and they can't even be bothered to check the battery or replace the battery? I've now had this car for less than a year and I've got a random expense because they couldn't be bothered to make sure the battery wasn't going to quit within a year. Now, mind you the salesman was a very kind, patient and understanding person, as was the gentleman in finance. I've had no issues with the dealership staff. The service staff however are a legitimate nightmare, trying to upsell you on unnecessary services to bring everything to the tune of $200 minimum! I'm glad I have friends who are mechanics otherwise I would have fallen for it too. Its a disgusting predatory business practice. Then, on top of this, the guy has the gall to insult me, and my friend when I call to request services that HAD NOT BEEN PERFORMED, be canceled. Needless to say I went over my service receipt with a fine tooth comb. This is likely one of, if not the single worst dealership experience I have had in my entire life. Evans Adu is an excellent service manager, he has saved me $2k from Frederick dealership for mid-diagnostics and unnecessary spending after I got 2nd opinion from him which I'm very glad I did. The Frederick dealership wants me to replace ECU which will cause me additional $2k but when the real issue was defective battery that I brought from Frederick dealership. Frederick dealership claimed that it was not the battery but Evan has proved that it was the battery by his senior technician. Having purchased the service, free loaner, package I took it to their Toyota repair center. They, without my prompting, pulled up that I bought it 2 weeks earlier and even though it was sold No warranty, as is, they diagnosed and fixed it at no cost. I purchase a Toyota in October 2023. A month later I realized my second key fob doesn't work. I email my salesperson, Marian Jandres on 11/13/23 with no response. I then forward the email to Govi Ban whom, was the actual salesperson I dealt with, his email was not valid. I called the dealership, was confirmed he still works there. I was patch to him, but he said he would call me back. That was Friday, Jan 9th. Still no return call, so I call him on his cell today, Wed 2/14. Again, he said he would call me back. I asked if he was really going to call me back in 15 mins as promised, because I never got a call back last time. After spending a long time trying established who I was, confirming what vehicle I purchase. The man told me he didn't sell me the car. He chucked and said I needed to contact Marian Jandres, the person who sold me the car. I replied, why would I have two of your business cards on me, if we didn't do business? I'm beyond frustrated at this point. All I want is a second key fob that works. I did speak to the manager, who just made more excuse as to why both of his staff don't respond to clients. WARNING!!!! My husband and I bought a used van for this dealer less than a year and three months ago for $7,000. Today we find out that there are problems with the van that are estimated to be $15,000 to repair. We expected some maintenance. But not the price of a new car for a broken one in less than a year and half. What is the most disappointing is this is the vehicle we use to transport our children. I have bought 3 cars from this dealership over the past few years always from Harmeet Suri and I never had to haggle the price and usually found the price matching what I wanted from reasearching on the internet. For trade-ins i have compare shopped at Car Max and got the same value. I usually go for the extended warranty which was useful for a used Volkswagen Passat that I bought. They will offer the usual dealer options of paint protection etc and have declined them.I use their service center and Steve Winkler is my favortie service manager. After building some trust in this company I do not stress on going for service or to buy a new car. There has never been any back and forth between salesman and manager and usually 2 to 3 hours or less to complete the transaction. A salesman sold me a car ( a handyman's special) under the impression i would be able to get temp tags for it and drive off with it the same day and do the necessary repairs myself to get it past state inspection. the MVA would not give me temp tags without the title , and even after getting the title months later in the mail they still said they can't issue us temp tags to be able to get it state inspected. no real help was offered to alleviate the issue leaving me without a car for month. I would have never gone through with the purchase knowing it would be like this. i believe the salesman only cared about getting his commission and not if I could actually drive off with the car leading to months of headaches and try to figure out how to get my family around. read more

NO STARS, NO STARS, NO STARS... They literally had a bank note from our bank showing a pre approval for a vehicle I had gone back and forth with all day, dealing with Olga there. My husband, while working, got all the paperwork to our bank and then to them, it was FOR THE EXACT AMOUNT OF THE VEHICLE MADE OUT TO THEM and they REFUSED to hold the vehicle for 2-3 hours while my husband rushed out of work early to go get the vehicle (to give some context he works 18 hour days in VA and is staying there a few days a week because of logistics). Anyway, he left work to come to G'burg to sign and take possession, this was ALL that was needed (I was told this) they already had the funding in hand. They sold the vehicle while he was in rush hour traffic trying to get there. Apparently the sale is far more important than the customer because I was told that they are a "who comes first, serve first" company and they REFUSED to accept anything signed via email, fax, or any other remote document-signing, this tells ME it's all about the money. Also they did not have corporates number handy so now I need to find it, and the general manager was not in, he will apparently call me tomorrow. STAY AWAY. Seriously, if this is how I'm treaded BEFORE they have my money I'm scared to find out how I would be treated AFTER they have it. Buyers beware. read more

We came to Fitzgerald for a Pre-Owned Highlander that we saw online and liked. The dealership was not close to home, but we liked the vehicle. Arranged a test drive and filed an online application for finance. We also brought our van to trade-in. We had $12,000 in hand, hoped to get $3000 from the trade-in, and planned to finance the balance. The car was ready for us to test drive when we arrived. We explained to the salesperson, that we seemed to have lost the lien release letter for the van (it's ten years old and has been paid off for eight). He assured us that since the loan had been with Toyota Financial this could be worked out there at the dealership. We took the test drive and the vehicle performed as we'd hoped, and we were pleased. The trade-in offer was slightly higher than what we'd hoped for, so there was no issue with that. We were fine with the price as offered (note we haggled over neither the trade value nor the price), and proceeded to move forward with the purchase. This is where things started to go sideways. First, the online finance application I'd filed has not "crossed over", so this had to be completed again. While not a big deal, I came to realize later that this was the first sign that things are not altogether smooth with their processes. The finance application was completed and filed (no issue there either - excellent credit, verifiable income, long-time i-home and at job). Then we waited. And waited. And waited. After about an hour, I went to find someone (the salesperson, to his credit, went off to get the vehicle fueled and washed). I told this person, that, we needed to start on this in 15 minutes or we would have to leave. At his point, Curt Smith, came to tell us that they "only had two people and were moving us ahead as fast as they could. I reiterated our need to get going, and Mr. Smith repeated, weakly, that they were short-handed and would get us in soon. In a few minutes, Kevin Flynn came and got us and took us to the finance person. [I find it odd that, after waiting an hour, they suddenly were able to help us as soon as an issue was made of it.] And this is where it ended. We went to meet with finance manager, Santos Mieses. He asked us for the title and lien release on the trade. we told him that we didn't have the release, but were told that they could work it out. Mr. Mieses immediately and with conviction told us that they couldn't do that. At this point, We called it and walked out. Mr. Flynn, met us at our car as we were leaving and told us that it could be worked out, but they would have to make phone calls, etc. We told him that Mr. Mieses should have led with that and that the salesperson should have queried this issue with finance from the beginning. Having no confidence that this death spiral of incompetence to end with this issue and having no immediate need to buy, we left took our $12,000, our van, and our solid credit history, and left. We will seek out a purchase from another dealer. read more

The sales rep we were introduced to by the name Ali was very rude , apathetic and unprofessional. We are sitting there and the first thing he says is wait until I finish this email. Ok? The next thing even without asking what features we want for the new car he wants to take my keys to do an appraisal on the current car. Why would you want to do that if you dont even bother to ask me what we are looking for or the budget. When we finally got the chance to drive the car he brought out the most basic trim without any features and didnt even look at us while driving and barely answered any questions. I arrived on time, but I ended up waiting over an hour because that particular car was blocked behind several other cars on their lot. You think they couldn't have moved the car out before I got there?? I wasn't a walk-in; I had made an appointment the day before. I did end up test-driving it but it didn't feel right so I declined. That was about a year ago. Today I made an appointment to see a different car I liked and specifically called to confirm it was available. It was, and I told them I would be there in half an hour. I arrived in 15 minutes and was told that it JUST GOT SOLD moments before I arrived. Cars do not get sold that fast, because dealers typically keep you there FOR HOURS, and it was barely 10am. Seller be warned!! If you are considering selling your car to this dealership please read this complete post.(It's a long one!) My husband was helping our daughter sell her car. He listened it on both Creg's List and Facebook market place. Almost immediately Curt from Fitzgerald Toyota Gaithersburg started making offers. Because it was a 4 hour drive, we said thanks but no. After a couple of weeks went by and the car had not sold yet, he then offered us our asking price plus $500 to deliver the car. We still did not want to make the trip but he was persistent. We finally agreed but said we needed to be sure that we were not wasting our time. So, at his request we sent a detailed 4-5 minute video showing everything bumper to bumper. He said he reviewed it and that all was good we had a deal. Wednesday was the only day my daughter could get off so I followed her expecting that she would be leaving the car there and we would drive home together. The first red flag was that when got there, Curt was off. He knew we were coming but failed to mention he would not be there. The second red flag was how they wanted to handle the loan payoff. (My daughter actually works at the bank where the car loan is held and knew this was a strange way to do business.) Then they dropped the final bombshell!! They wanted to pay us $4k less than what we were promised!! They said it was because the car was not the trim package in the listing. Now remember Curt has seen the full inspection video. Every feature was clearly and accurately listed in the listing. What we did not know was that the series of letters and numbers that were added to the listing when we put the vin number in indicated a different trim package than what the car is. This package includes leather seats and a sunroof. Both are things that are clearly mentioned and or shown in the video that Curt approved! Also, there were detailed pictures in the listing. Selling cars is not what we do for a living. A series of letters and numbers that was added when the vin number was inserted means nothing to us. Everything described in the listing was accurate. The water marks on the CLOTH seats were even pointed out on the video. Obviously, there was no sunroof! The people at the dealership entered in the same facts that were provided to Curt and in a matter of minutes said it was a S and not an R trim. He is supposed to be a "professional" who buys cars all the time. Yet, he must not have entered in the information. If he had, we would not have waisted an entire day!! Is this how you want to be treated? Unless you live really close to this dealership, don't bother!! They don't care about your inconvenience!! They maintain their "plausible deniability" and do whatever suits their bottom line. The fact that we were promised the full amount plus $500 in writing did not matter! Our only choice was to either take the low offer or leave. So after hours of discussion, we left! They know that we won't spend the time or money to fight them in court. All I can do is warn you. Please, don't let them continue to use people like this. Don't be their next victim!! I can't help but wonder how many people would have just excepted the low offer. ($4k less than we were promised!)They said it wasn't a "Bate and Switch " but from where we sat, it most definitely was. My daughter purchased her 1st car from them 3/17/2022 (USED) or sales person Frank Yang was amazing however, on 5/21/2022 she went to use the AC and it was blowing out hot air. We called to Toyota and we were told that it would be free since it was in the 90 days. My daughter took her car today 5/23/2022 and was told that since she is 300 miles over even though it has not been 90 days that she would need to pay 400 and there is nothing they can do.
