We take all our cars here for maintenance and repairs and will never go anywhere else again if I can help it. The service is honest and reasonably priced, and you're not constantly being upsold on stuff you don't need. The shop will also have a conversation with you about what they've found when doing maintenance, what needs to be addressed today, and what can wait. You can schedule appointments online for oil changes and maintenance. Don't come here if you are looking for a fancy waiting room and shuttle service. Do come here if you want honest service, straight talk, and mechanics who actually care and will fix your issues. I suggest bringing a ride if you can - easiest place to park is to turn to the right immediately after entering the lot and parking on the side, and then walking to the garage. When needing major repairs on your car, it's important to do your research. One place wanted $1600 for brakes n rotors!! Ah no!! The quotes I was getting from all over the county were almost 2x as much. One place was more than the dealership. Once I contacted Hoons, I was given a quote that I felt was fair. I read all the reviews from Yelp n Google. Almost all 5 stars reviews. He has a small office and waiting room, and coffee machine. He doesn't try to upsell you unnecessary stuff. I was so disappointed. I called early in the morning and told the gentleman on the phone, I needed my tires rotated, my oil changed and the fluids tipped off, and the brakes checked. I asked how much it would cost and how long it would take? I was told it would take an hour to an hour and a half. I told him I would be waiting with the car. He gave me an appointment time at 2:30. I arrived at 2:25. There were lots of cars at the shop. They have a small waiting room and I sat there. Some customers were getting status reports on how their cars were doing. After about 50 minutes, I asked about the progress on my car? He told me they were halfway through. He never mentioned that they were not going to complete the job. I waited another 45 minutes,now I had been there for an hour and 40 minutes...they called my name. I was told they did Not rotate the tires, because they we're afraid the car would shake. Hello? What? About 45 minutes, into the service appointment, I should have been alerted that they could not complete the job. Then, I am charged $77 dollars and I come to find out, They Didn't Change the Oil Filter. Who pays almost $80 for an oil change and they don't replace the oil filter? And, then, I look at the bill to find I was charged $10 dollars for an oil filter, that was never changed. What a huge disappointment! They did not complete the service, charged me for materials that they didn't replace, and did not communicate with me, that they had any issues with my car. Buyer beware, I wouldn't take my car back to this shop, under any circumstances. read more

It's hard to find a good mechanic who won't take all your whole wallet but I think these guys might be it. Discovered I had to get a new clutch on my civic and knew I was going to be paying the gold price. Got 3 or 4 quotes and these guys were not the cheapest but I decided to go with them because of their expertise with Hondas. The guy who answered the phone late on the Friday before Mem day (Yoon) was friendly and knowledgeable and told me to bring it by Tue afternoon. It's a busy place and from the clientele you can tell they attract customers from all walks of life. Yoon effortlessly switched from English to Korean to magnificently comedic Spanglish. he explained he'd order the parts and get it done by Fri. Dude even offered me a ride to the metro even though you could tell it was the end of a long day. They had it done Sat AM because some parts were unavailable and they came up with a workaround. Long story short, the estimate was accurate and they also discovered my front brakes needed replaced, which they did for a very reasonable price (based on prior replacements). I am not a mechanic so I can only say I got the impression of competence and honesty. But I will definitely return for major repairs, which hopefully I will not have to do again anytime soon. read more

Found out about this place from a Reddit thread. It didn't disappoint! I had gotten a absurd quote from the dealership and came here to double check what the issue was. Good thing, because they actually shared what was going on (the software in the car needs to be updated)! During my wait I heard the man at the front desk breaking out each quote all the way down to the tax so customers knew what they were getting. There are plenty of auto service places closer to where I live. But the longer drive is worth it because I can see they are in a low rent location. That enables them to keep their rates lower. My car is 1 year old. It didn't need much. But they did it in less than their 2 hour time estimate, and their charge was fair. In addition, they found one tire that was damaged, which I hadn't noticed. Their replacement quote was close to the price of a discounter I have used in the past. The work area was clean, and the tools were arranged neatly. Their covid precautions were appropriate. Finding an auto service that can be trusted is not easy. Came here because of the "good reviews" on Yelp. Got an alignment. Was seen same day which was nice. Was told they could not "get the number perfect but it is minor and it won't be a problem". Now my car pulls to the left at highway speeds. Was never a problem before, car is low mileage and only a few years old. I have a Toyota Corolla from 2006 which I have been servicing at Hoon's for over 8 years now. As you can imagine, even though this is a reliable car, there have been several minor/medium repairs done during this time (exhaust welding, shocks and suspension assembly replaced, air mass sensor replaced, engine leaking oil - gasket replaced, brakes and rotors replaced twice, battery, etc). In general I check prices on line for the quoted work - they always offered similar/below market pricing. Also, they always made an effort to accomodate my schedule. The car has now over 250k miles on it and it is still running really well which is why I was reluctant to replace it - at this point it is a free car.. Like everyone else, I was so impressed with Hoon's. This was my first visit with my new 8 month old car. The owner took one look at my car and said I didn't need an oil change yet. But instead of coming back in 4 months I wanted the oil change anyway. What honesty! There is a cute little waiting room where you can see the entire service area. The price was totally appropriate and my husband and I will bring both our cars here from now on. (I don't trust the dealer). All these great reviews are spot on. Excellent Service! Before I went to Hoon's Auto, I took my car to Nissan Dealer which checked the computer and test drove the car. They asked me to flash the transmission fluid and costed me over $500. They said there was a problem with transmission where the noise came from. But they could not find the exact problem. Four months later, I called Hoon's Auto to set up the appointment next day. They checked the car right ways and within 30 minutes, the car was fixed. The noise came from the heat shield, not the transmission. I asked them to do oil change and checked up the car since I will be doing a road trip. They recommended the change of air filter and I did. I have been coming here for 3 years now. They provide quick service and honest pricing. I usually call a day in advance and get scheduled in for the next morning. For oil changes, I've been in and out within 30 minutes and waited at most one hour (so really quick!). They break down the cost of the maintenance and talk through each item with you. If they find additional maintenance needs during inspection, they inform you about the additional costs before moving forward. I can always expect great customer service here. Anyone looking for COVID-19 updates on Hoon's will be glad to know they are taking the protection of their customers seriously. I was encouraged to see they have set up an online appointments portal that made it easy to request a routine service. When I arrived, the reception/waiting area was modified to have plastic screens between customers and the staff, and they wore facemasks. I dropped off our car in the morning and the service was done by noon. We had several routine maintenance codes that included a brake fluid change, so I really appreciate their turnaround time and fair prices. In the past we've paid Hoon's for a flat tire repair and subsequently left the car with them several times for a noise/rattle diagnosis that they refused to charge us for. By comparison, our car was under a "bumper to bumper" warranty at Herson's Honda, who still charged a $70 "diagnostic fee" for leaving the car with them. Long story short, you can trust Hoon's with your auto service, especially since they are taking the proper precautions against COVID-19. I have been coming here for a while for maintenance of my car and to do body work. Not only do I appreciate the quality of the work, but I am also grateful for the professionalism of the body shop. They're punctual and pleasant with communicating any issues about the car. I came here the other day to get a paint job and they did an excellent job of getting my entire door panel painted back to new. Brought in Honda Civic to diagnose check engine light--the blue coolant light appears after ignition and then turns off after a few minutes of driving. Also there is a slight ignition delay when starting the car. After paying over $400.00, nothing was fixed. They told me that the coolant light will disappear after driving. What??!!!
