This is a new pizza joint where Mi Rancho Grande used to be. We ordered up 3 pizzas and a salad for carry out. The guy on the phone couldn't possibly have been nicer, and even read my order back to me. As for the pizza, I'm a New England guy. For me, Renzi's and Kings are some of the best in the area. Hero's now sits up top with those two, and they're even closer to me in North Frederick. Give them a shot. Good stuff. read more

We had the best dinner at Hero's. The food was awesome, service was excellent and the prices are really good for the quality. Sean was our server and he was helpful, friendly and attentive. They sell pizza by the slice, so when I ordered a large cheese instead of making a new pizza they took old slices (removed the toppings on one) and pieced one together. It was made from at least 4 different pizzas. The wings were obviously from a large frozen industrial supplier and were soggy. The salad had wilted lettuce. If the prices were lower I would have expected something like this, but at $18 a large I was robbed. read more

I'm from NY and this is not NY style deli; the prices are, but the food isn't. My mouth had been watering for a pastrami sandwich and onion rings for months, but it wasn't worth it. The meat was OK, but the 'Kaiser roll' I was looking forward to turned out to be a soft potato roll- ugh!- and the breading on the onion rings was so hard and crunchy (i prefer batter dipped) I was afraid I'd chip a tooth. And the bill for this unpleasantness - to go, no drink-was over $22. Would've liked to try a slice of pizza, but I'm not going back. Plus, a negative extra bonus- whoever designed the name/logo can't spell- the sign says Hero's instead of Heroes, and that kind of ignorance irks me. read more

Please do not use NY style sandwiches in your advertisement. . NY style sandwiches are full of meat . I could of barely taste any of the meats in the Eve sandwich. Times are tough but I would rather pay a little extra for a sandwich I can enjoy and make me feel like I never left NY. read more

This restaurant is very new in the area, and we weren't disappointed by the service. Our first pizza we ordered was a large jalapeño and pepperoni pizza. Our waitress informed us that the pizza stuck to the pan, and immediately removed the pizza from the bill. Moments later, she returns and informs us that they ran out of jalapeños, so we substituted onions. Lastly, before our pizza arrived, our waitress brought us two free pieces of chocolate cake! Finally, our pizza arrived and we enjoyed it very much. We were both very satisfied with the level of service provided from this new restaurant. read more

We had passed by this restaurant for years but never stopped in. Glad that we did, because it was a real treat. The menu is extensive and gives you much variety. The pricing may seem a little high but the portion sizes are impressive. The four of us had a Stromboli, a cheese pizza, a 12 inch tuna sub, and I had Hero's Rachel sandwich. Not one of us was disappointed with our meal, and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back. Will definitely lay off the soda and get water next time though to keep the cost down. So, my husband and I ordered Heros for the first time over the weekend and have had it again already! The pizza was super fresh and hot when it arrived and the sausage on the pizza was delicious. I also tried the penne alla vodka, which is my absolute favorite pasta dish, and was super surprised at how tasty it was! It had big chunks of prosciutto and the sauce was flavorful. My husband has tried the steak & cheese and the chicken parm subs and said that they might just be the best he's had in Frederick! Also tried the Caesar salad, antipasto salad and potato salad, all of which we enjoyed! Definitely recommend this place!! We are looking forward to trying more dishes this weekend lol. read more

I ordered a white pizza with anchovies,my favorite. The pizza was fresh out and flavorful. Kno complaints. I also ordered wings they were good but needed a little more time in the fryer. Had a previous take out order where the salad dressing was omitted. To make it up to us, the owner offered a free salad on our next visit. So we got a Tuna Salad and the large Milano sub. Absolutely amazing! Both entrees were so tasty and in large portions. This was our lunch. We ate so much that we canceled dinner today. Outstanding value! read more

I had lunch here on 4-7-2021 after a doctors appointment nearby. Food: I had the spaghetti and meatballs with garden salad and bread. Both the portions for the salad and pasta dish were big. Full of flavor. Tasted just as good heated up the next day as leftovers. Service: my party was the only persons in the restaurant so we had great service. Not hovering over us nor too far away to get a soda refill. Prices: My meal was about $20 with tax and tip. A decent value considering you will get two (2) full meals out of your order. so I'm not really a reviewer but this was the worst food I ever had. i work close by so needed something where I could get food and get food fast. upon coming in they told us to seat ourselves and we sat at the one table that wasn't dirty. I don't normally order sandwiches but I love rye bread and saw pastrami and rye on the menu and it said it was their speciality and I was all in. when the waiter brought it to me it was pastrami on wheat. they have about 5 or so breads to choose from and he told me they must be out of rye so used wheat. Our waiter went back and asked and said yes that was the issue. I was never asked what my substitute bread would be because I would've changed my entire order. I'm not kidding when I tell you this was just the cheapest wheat bread you can buy with ONE PIECE of pastrami cut in half on it. ONE. I've fed my toddlers bigger sandwiches. there was no way this was worth the $13 I paid for it. it came with a side of cole slaw that tasted like straight up mayonnaise with some cabbage thrown in. This is a one and done restaurant. We won't return. We are a decent size office that is close by and we told them don't even bother trying it. As a native NYer, I'm always suspicious of restaurants that serve "NY Style" food. Not this time. We tried their pizza, salad, and roast beef sandwiches. The pizza was a REAL NY pizza! To a native NYer missing food from home, that's pure heaven. Their french fries seemed pricey, until you realize you can feed four people with one side of their fries, which are first-class. My wife loved her salad with incredible grilled chicken. And the roast beef was AMAZING! Best roast beef sub I've had since Katz's Deli! I asked for mozzarella cheese on my sandwich. Imagine my surprise when I didn't find a slab of store-bought mozzarella, but thick slices of fresh mozzarella! And to non-NYers this might not mean much, but their sandwiches come with dill pickles -- really excellent dill pickles! So now we have to go back and see if everything else is as good. I have no doubt it will be. This is a restaurant that cares about what they serve. And what they serve is enough to satisfy the palate of someone who grew up on NY pizza and deli. Bra-vo!!!! read more
