I brought my old dining chairs and they were very pragmatic about how much I'd be spending vs the price of my chairs. They didn't try to upsell me and offered a solution that made sense for the chairs I had. I ended up having only the foam padding replaced instead of upholstering the entire dining chair set. The chairs are so much more comfortable now and will last me many years. They did such a great job. I will be coming back for my next upholstery project. read more

I had a great experience with this small family owned upholstery shop- I purchased an interesting old campaign chair on FB marketplace with an idea to have it covered with an old brindle cowhide I'd had on the floor for years. Not knowing quite who to turn to in the area, I trusted Yelp! to find the right shop and Hernandez' was my choice. While this wasn't the most complicated job in the world, there was only one chance to cut the leather correctly to get the swirl down the center of the hide laid out down the center of the chair. Rather than just wing it, the shop owners called me to come collaborate with them on how to best use the irregular hide when it was time to cut it. I stopped by the shop and together we figured out how to utilize the hide... and the finished project came out gorgeous! Communication was great, the shop kept to their time estimate, and their pricing was fair for an unusual job. They also beefed up the chair's original cushion and seat supports so it's much stronger and smoother than what I brought in. Overall I was very pleased with both the skills and customer service from this shop and will definitely use them again if I think up some crazy furniture project- thanks Hernandez'! read more

I've been reading all the great reviews about Hernandez Upholstery. I finally decided to contact them about reupholstering 4 dining room chairs and two bars stools. I spoke with Jasmine and her father and they were both so friendly and very helpful. They quoted me a great price and provided a good selection of materials. Since I live close to their store, they were kind enough to pick up and deliver the furniture. My chairs and the bar stools were delivered today and I am so impressed with the work they did. They did an outstanding job. I love supporting local businesses and especially a family run business. Thank you very much Hernandez family! read more

Took an heirloom footstool to be reupholstered. One of the springs seemed to be broken. The friendly gentleman who helped us was very thorough with his explanation of what needed to be done. He explained that if he was going to do the work, the spring would never break again. I picked the material I liked and let him do his magic. The footstool came out looking great and I can continue reminiscing of my childhood days bouncing on it as I sit in it an remember visiting my grandparents home in El Monte, Ca. read more

After many years of putting off getting our kitchen chairs reupholstered, we finally decided that now was the time. We took them to Hernandez Upholstery in Chino. We spoke with Jazmin, Beatriz, and their father Octavio. They were very easy to talk to and they explained what they would be doing to the cushions on our chairs which would make them much stronger than they currently were. I don't know what I was expecting to see when they were done but it exceeded my expectations. They did a wonderful job on the cushions. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have furniture reupholstered. read more

Beatrice at Hernandez Upholstery is very experienced, knowledgeable and helpful. She made two incredible lounge chair cushions. We selected the fabric, interior materials, and working from the pattern of our old cushions, made two soft, yet firm cushions that look beautiful and are great for lounging! Last time she and her family redid all our dining room chairs which look incredible too and saved us a lot of money. Very thorough, caring, and professional business! read more

To update: I picked up my redone ottoman and the material is tight with no wrinkles, creased corners and material all running the same direction but... They put a single stitch all the way around the top edge using white thread with expresso brown material! Give up. There was no charge but I had to take a brown sharpie to the stitch to cover it up. Nice people but I won't be back. read more

After other shops said they couldn't repair my couch cover, this place said they can and SAME DAY. Took it to them even though it was out of my way and I am GLAD i did!! Not only did they fix the zipper on it but they tried to NOT charge me saying it was nothing. Well, it was something to us because no one else said they could do the task. It's things like this that really set a company apart from their competitors. I know that my family will forever trust Hernandez Upholstery and I'll ALWAYS recommend them to anyone from now on. Hernandez upholstery was such a great YELP find!!! We had six dining room chair pads rebuilt and recovered. The choice of fabrics was excellent and there were options for the strapping that we could choose from. We had quoted other nearby shops that wanted over $100 per cushion but Hernandez Upholstery was well below that. Everything was complete in less than 2 weeks with most of the wait being the ordering/shipping of our chosen fabric. We couldn't be more pleased! read more

I'm so disappointed. I was REALLY hoping to add another GREAT review as a happy customer. After finding them on Yelp and reading all the great reviews I decided to drive down to their location so I could show them a picture of my sectional & explain in detail what I wanted. The lady I spoke with - Jasmine was very nice & responsive. Even helped me pick out a fabric. She asked me to text the picture of my sectional to her dad's cell # and took all my info - cell # & home address - saying they would call with a date & time to come by and take a look at it themselves, then give me a quote. This happened on a Monday. Friday morning of the same week, I still had not heard back from anyone, so I called and left a voice message on the Mr. Hernandez's phone. That day came and went - nothing. Monday morning, 8:02 am I sent a text asking "if I could PLEASE have a quote on turning my 17 yr old sectional into a couch & having it reupholstered," and again... NOTHING. I guess they're doing well enough that they don't want or need my business. What a shame. read more

This is a family owned business. Mr. Hernandez, his daughter's and son were so very nice and helpful. They beautifully reupholstered my sofa and loveseat modernizing it by removing the outdated skirt and adding nail heads along the bottom and the arms. What a transformation! They did beautiful work. Material matched up perfectly. I had them do my wing back chair with an accent fabric and again, matched up the pattern fabric perfectly. All three furniture pieces meet and exceed my expectations. I highly recommend using Hernandez Upholstery. You can trust that they will take care of your furniture pieces, those that are antique or just merely outdated furniture.
