Extremely disappointing experience. I purchased a luxury watch in October, the band failed after being worn only twice, and I returned it to the Greenwich boutique in early November. Months later, I still don't have a replacement band, haven't received any meaningful updates, and communication from both the store and corporate has essentially stopped. At this point, the issue isn't just the defective product, things happen. It's the complete lack of accountability, follow-up, and basic customer service that's most frustrating. For a brand positioned as premium, this level of after-sales support is frankly unacceptable. Rude sales associates. Not a single Hello upon entering. Made me feel like I was a major inconvenience to them. Every pair of shoes I wanted to try on, the SA said they were out of stock. She didn't even look at her phone to check. Wasn't really interested to chat with me about the brand. Back-hand complimented my shoes, and said they were "heavy duty and look comfortable". She probably doesn't know I am already an establish Hermes customer. Just because I wasn't wearing any Hermes pieces, she just assumed I was some newbie. Upon entering the location, ASK FOR SASCHIMA! She was the sweetest soul, greeted me with a smile, and was incredibly helpful, patient, and fast. Saschima didn't give me no unpleasant looks nor did she try to avoid me and act like I was invisible, unlike some other staff members. I called the day before to have an item placed on hold, went the next day and told them what I was here for and to my surprise Saschima was the one that answered the phone the day before and the same person to help me in store. Also, I didn't realize I asked for the wrong item on the phone, but she quickly found the item I wanted. Very smooth and pleasant experience, credit to Saschima! Yesterday, I bought my first Hermes bag and was sorely disapointed by the experience. I walked in and waited endlessly although I had called ahead. The salesperson greeted and air kissed another apparent salesperson from another store although I had been waiting first. Then I waited more. Another customer was there with a wild running around child screaming and crying baby. They were not directed to an area where they could sit away from others. I guess she is an important buying customer. After waiting 20 minutes or more, the salesperson came down with the expensive bag. There was no salesmanship and she informed me I was lucky as I could resell it for more. I was quickly getting the idea this was not going to be one of those rarified shopping experiences where a professional salesperson would seamlessly glide me through spending more for a bag than I ever had. Forget about "Breakfast at Tiffanys". She asked what I did and I told her I was a doc. We chatted about Covid and she told me her various conspiracy theories about the government creating viruses including Lyme disease. I'm a medical doc and but she insisted I should look it up-the government created lyme, vaccine was suspect, etc.. I do not know how to sell expensive bags but know there is an art and skill to it. This skill was not manifest. If I think it takes know-how and experience to sell bags then why did this person think she knew how the science of a pandemic works? As far as I know, she did not go to medical school or trained in virology. I was buying myself the bag as a reward to myself for a really difficult year of treating pandemic patients. This was not what I went to Hermes to hear. It goes without saying that salespersons should not inflict their zany theories on customers in a posh store. Part of the magic of these expensive stores is the escape into a seamless attentive world away from the usual partisan nonsense. This was the opposite. Oh, and she forgot to give my sales receipt so I had to go back for it. Didn't apologize. What happened to the professional salespersons? Try the manager hanging out at Great Stuff in Rye. She knows how to treat people. Hermes needs to train their staff in manners and boundaries. read more

I visited this store yesterday and had the worse shopping experience ever!!!!! I entered the store, upon entering a sales associate was on her phone and did not even acknowledge my presence. I knew exactly what I wanted so I requested assistance from a gentleman who had a clipboard in his hand and was taking inventory. He had to go over to the SALESPERSON to ask her to help me. I requested 2 sizes in the item I wanted. She did not introduce herself. It takes a special person to be a sales associate, obviously this woman does not deserve the title of sales associate because this type of behavior does not reflect what the company stands for. Also without customers many companies have failed and many sales associates have been displaced as a result of COVID which has taught us that online shopping is the "new thing". So my advice to all sales associates, remember without us paying customers you are and will be out of a job! I bought my item and left the store. Will not return to that store. One day in December 2019 I went to try on a pair of shoes at the Greenwich, CT. store and the salesperson said he would help me after he finished with another customer. I waited about a half an hour. I then went back to the front of the store and asked a nice saleswoman who greeted me when I first came in. She promptly helped me and ordered a pair from a Hermes store down on Wall Street, NY because the Greenwich store didn't have my size. Three weeks later I didn't hear from them, so I went back in and ordered the shoe again from another saleswoman, who said they couldn't find the first order. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard from the store. Even if the shoe wasn't available, they could have had the decency to call me and tell me. read more

Well. Very nice store and good selection - I really liked the location and the architecture of this store. Anyway on a saturday morning the store was crowded and all of the salespersons where occupied, at least one person greeted me at the entrance and said somebody will be with me shortly. Well. I walked up and down for a pretty long time. Watched at some items by myself (more than once at the same item). Salespeople saw me but did somehow not care. After quite a bit someone came over to me. I was showed everything I wanted to see, but somehow was not served with enthusiasm I expect when buying Hermès. She did not feel like having the desire to do anything else for me, or showing me more items. I felt like to disturb the daily business, and stealing her time. That should not really be the case if you want to buy goods of any kind. Anyway, I will come back since the location is convenient. I've been to this store many times over the years, having purchased some items along the way. A couple of weekends ago, I met my mother for lunch on the Avenue and we decided to pop into Hermès as I was interested in buying a handbag for my birthday. The store was quite busy, but a sales associate, Dane, asked if I needed any help, and once I told her what I was interested in, she politely asked if I had few minutes to wait as she was finishing up working with another customer. I was in no rush, so I waited for a few minutes until she was available. I told Dane exactly what I was interested in, but didn't anticipate that there would be any bags available as there weren't any models on the floor. Imagine my surprise when Dane returned and showed me a box with the exact bag! As luck would have it, my mother also fell in love with the bag, and since her birthday is a few months before mine, I thought she should have first dibs. Dane seemed as excited as my mother was that she could provide the perfect gift for my mother's birthday. Dane was knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful & made the whole experience so enjoyable. My friends and I (another couple and my husband) visited this location recently on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy, but yet none of the salespeople working offered my friends (husband and another couple) and I any help. The first item we were looking for was belts; men and women. There was one salesperson (with mid-length brown hair and glasses) near the belts that was helping a customer, but did not acknowledge us. We didn't know our size so we were trying on the belts that were on display. My husband did first. The salesperson saw him and didn't say anything. Then, I went over to the women's and was about to try one on and she walked over and reprimanded me in front of the other customer. I was literally scolded like a small child in front of this other customer. The salesperson did not leave my side until I put down the belt. The client she was helping looked over at me and gave me a sympathetic look. She also could not believe this salesperson did that. We decided to leave and on our way out we saw a scarf that caught our eye. I told my husband we would just buy it online, along with the belts, due to the horrible experience I just encountered. (For this experience, I would give zero stars and never visit this location again!) But, then Dane came over and asked us if we needed any assistance. Thank goodness for Dane! She was so nice, knowledgeable and helpful. She showed us many options and colors even though they were getting ready to close. We did not feel rushed at all. We needed up purchasing two scarves. (Dane definitely deserves five stars!) If you are planning on shopping here, please ask if Dane is in! She is the best! And, seriously avoid the mid-length brown haired salesperson with glasses. I attempted to come to Hermes a few days ago while partaking in some shopping along the Avenue. I had the intention of buying a scarf for my grandmother as a Christmas gift. Upon arrival, I was informed that I would need to schedule an appointment to shop in the store. Now, I understand that places have instituted protocol during this time to ensure safety. However, the manner in which it was dealt with was unacceptable. I told the salesman that I knew exactly what I wanted to get, and had no intention of browsing and lingering. I even showed him a picture on the phone to demonstrate this. He was quite adamant that I wouldn't be permitted inside, and was quite rude about it at the same time. He directed me to a sign on the door with the email or telephone number I could contact to schedule an appointment. I left and called the number. No answer. I then sent a polite email to the address, requesting further information. I called several more times over the next couple of hours. There was no answer, nor was there a response to my email inquiry. It seems counterintuitive for a store to actively discourage paying costumers. Another man was outside of the store while I was there, and he was attempting to purchase a belt, knowing exactly which one he wanted. The store gave him the same treatment, and we both agreed how ridiculous it was. I returned home and ordered the scarf online, and it is excellent. The store is otherwise quite nice and the only alternative for a full Hermes shop rather than going into Manhattan, so I hope they "tighten the reins" and get their act together soon. read more
