Another destination, another Brandy. This seems to be my first stop whenever traveling with my 14 year old. There were so many amazing stores along Greenwich Avenue and can't say this was my first choice for shopping, but the teenager won as always. Everything in Brandy looks the same to me and all the stores are crammed with too much stuff IMO. However, the price is right so I'll give them that. They also all sell local tees, which is part of the draw of visiting so many different locations. My daughter was able to pick up greenwich and even Boston branded t-shirts here, which she has been wearing proudly ever since. She got these along with a few tanks and shorts to add to her Brandy collection. The store was packed with teens as always. Fortunately, she knows how their clothes fit by now so we didn't have to wait in the line to try things on. And we basically gave her a 10 minute shopping limit since her younger brother had reached his own shopping limit. She got the job done and left a happy shopper. read more

I would give this a zero if I could. I accidentally knocked a few sweater on the ground and the works said "oh my god" and stared me down aggressively. Such an awful store. One of the girls mouthed "I'm going to scream" while she was folding clothes. Both cash registers stopped working and no one knew what to do. They had iPads they could've used to check the customers out, but refused to use them. They asked us to put our things on hold and said they would call us when the registers began to work again. I called to follow up and they said they called each person with clothes on hold (they didn't) and released all holds. My 12-year-old son exclaimed soon after leaving the store, "I would never trust these girls to run a store I owned. They seem so disorganized." read more

Not much of a selection of jeans but I probably caught a bad time to shop because the store was absolutely packed full of people. If only I could give ZERO stars. This is coming from someone who has been shopping at Brandy Melville for 6 years and would defend their name to ANYONE who disrespects their name or points out the white skinny girl favoritism in their marketing, advertising and production. There has always been a backlash about the one size fits all and I used to support it, until today. Before purchasing an order worth hundreds of dollars online last month, I called this store to triple check if I can return the items to their store for a full refund. I already know beforehand that the policy beforehand stores only accept exchanges (duh, I am a diehard customer I know their policy in the palm of my hand). What I don't understand, is why the associate had to lie to me and say that they do accept returns and grant a full refund, when I asked if she was sure three times. When going to the store to do my return, the associate didn't even ask for my invoice to check the date. She just immediately turned me away and said that they only do exchanges. So that means she didn't turn me away because of the date. Never lie to your customers. Even if you think that what you will say will upset them. Tell them upfront and the first time the truth. Don't waste their time and YOUR TIME. Don't tell them what they want to hear so it will soothe them for 10 minutes and just so you can take their money. It will only backfire, badly. Period. One size fits all will never work. I am 5"6 and 120 lbs. and the clothes from this company still don't have a guarantee that they will fit me. You just lost a loyal customer. This store has fewer selections than the one in Westport. I wish Nordstrom would take more Brandy Melville stocks so they can eliminate small stores with extremely poor customer service. The girls working in this store are extremely rude. They are all on their phones and very snotty. My daughter wanted to try a few things in and we had 2 shopping bags and our small purses. They told us no bags in the fitting room which is fine but they expected us to leave our purses outside the room too. Why not try counting the items you bring in? I've always been curious about Brandy Melville and decided to stop in to do some shopping for work and an upcoming trip. I've browsed the store before and really liked their prices and designs, however I wish I had never stepped foot in the store or wasted my money. First: Their one size fits all sizing is inaccurate. It can only comfortably fit a size 0. Don't bother shopping here if you're a size 10+. You'll be doing yourself a favor to try EVERYTHING on before you buy it as their return policy is ridiculous. You won't get your money back, only store credit or an exchange. The clothes are super cute and if you're under a size 10 you can find clothes there but forget about purchasing bottoms if you have hips. If you have a large bust forget about their tops fitting you correctly. Go somewhere else you have body image issues or body dysmorphia of any kind. Secondly: All of the previous reviews concerning the lack of customer service and rudeness are completely true. The women working here seem bored to be alive, are smug and seem to hold some kind of resentment for being forced to earn a paycheck. They ignore everyone, chatter about their personal lives and don't care about customers waiting in line. They will downright ignore you if you're standing at the counter waiting to pay as they sit behind the counter checking their e-mail or Instagram accounts. I prefer to be left alone to browse while I shop but these young women didn't glance at me once and never spoke to me. I was only spoken to when I paid. One associate had to pass me to get to the back of the store and rather than say, "Excuse me" to pass by me she simply stared in my general direction until I moved out of her precious way. It's too bad that this place is so horrendous. It's a great alternative to places like Forever 21 but I will never shop here again. read more

I'm just going to sum up what other reviewers have said. The staff is pretty nonchalant, they don't give a rat's behind what you're doing with your time in their store, and they DO size you up to see if you'll fit in the Brandy Melville's "one size fits all" lineup of clothing. If you can, try things on before you leave the store, as they have a "store credit only" policy for returns. I don't know who that employee is that sits there sipping her $10 Starbucks iced drink, with her salad perched neatly in front of her to remind us all WHY she can fit into the size 0 Brandy Melville gear, but she really needs to get it together. I stood there for 5 minutes waiting to be checked out before some other employee wandered over, made a "suggestion" that someone help us, and it took another 2 minutes for the salad eating, Starbucks obsessed employee to stop sucking on her straw and to start even logging into the system to get me squared away. Keep in mind she was behind the counter, at the register, this entire time. What a stressful time and experience I had in that store and I'll never be back. The second time I went, because I had to return an item, the staff were a bit more attentive, but they were reorganizing the store the entire time, even as other customers desperately tried to get assistance. I felt bad, knowing full well that they wouldn't get the service they deserved. And sure enough, a few people walked right on out. Overall, if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I don't recall having written a bad review for Yelp, so this would be my first. DO NOT GO HERE. The person who worked there was named NICOLE. First, she was rude and sized you up immediately. Then she sat behind the cashier area the entire time without trying to help. There was no one in the store and I could see why. I was there dressed appropriately and ready to spend. She would have none of it. For such a great store they should have someone who doesn't ruin it. The clothes are great and the vibe should match. Until they fire her, go to the one in the city. Edited later that day: OK so customer service worked with me and the woman who was rude to me wrote me an email and apologized. I will up my rating to a Neutral because they did what they could to make nice. And I doubt that incident will ever be repeated. Go and have fun. read more

The girls working at this brandy Melville made me viscerally uncomfortable. Never in my life have I experienced such poor service. It's clear that they do not take this job even remotely seriously. I have worked retail before and its quite easy to treat people with kindness. Despite SIX to TWELVE employees working, no one greeted us when we came in. No one was working dressing rooms. And we had to wait to check out even though there were many employees standing at the registers. I DO NOT recommend this location. Their management needs to train their employees on how to treat people like actual humans! Their online store is more helpful! I do love this store and I have ordered many times through their online website. Recently, my sister was getting ready for a trip and we thought it would be nice to go shopping at a store we both enjoy, or so we thought. The moment we stepped into the store, we simply felt judged and like we were being watched. The employees were distant and not even helpful but yet it also just felt like they were monitoring our every move. When we finally did interact with one of the employees, her tone was hostile and cold. When customers are spending money at your store you should respect them and not try to push them away. There also just seemed to be a hostile work environment in general. As I was getting ready to pay, one of the employees started yelling the other employee's name over and over and was yelling at her to help. I went into the fitting room yesterday afternoon to try on a few things and ended up making a purchase, then we left the store to go walk around and do some more shopping. When we got back to my car after shopping, I realized I had left my sunglasses in the Brandy Melville fitting room. So we drive back and I walk in and ask the girl working the fitting room if she saw a pair of all black raybans, and she says no and acts suspicious, so I leave to get back in my car and tell my friends they didn't have them, and my friend tells me to go back in there and look for them myself. So I go back in with my guy friend and ask the same girl if I can take a look, and she says yes of course, and my friend and I walk into the fitting room, and she says "just let me take a look and see if anyone found them," and she moves a few boxes, and boom, my sunglasses appear, and her face turns red. I personally really like Brandy Melville, but I am quite small. Also, non of the pants fit me because they're only made for tall thin girls, and I am pretty short. I like their shirts, but I often find that my outfit for the day will look exactly like someone else's because the prints and styles are so similar to each other. The girls who work their can be extremely mean and think they're better than everyone else. A friend of mine gained a little weight and whenever she went into Brandy Melville she was stared at and judged. Then she became anorexic and when she walked into one of their stores she was immediately offered a job even though she's only 13. Crazy. read more

I have had ordered for my daughter on line and gone in with both my daughters in person. customer service on the phone are not helpful, returns are hard to do and you have to pay to return items lastly in store the customer service is judgmental and seem annoyed that you are purchasing their merchandise. read more

I've always struggled with finding clothes that fit me right and reflect my sense of style. I'm smaller than petite: 4'11" (as I like to tell people) and I can never find short enough tank tops or jeans that fit my thighs and my calves. Shopping was a burden, a scavenger hunt; I never found outfits that I truly loved, until I discovered Brandy Melville. Background Before Brandy, I got most of my clothes from Delia's, Forever 21, and Urban Outfitters. Delia's became too tween-y, Forever 21 became tacky and low-quality, and although Urban is still a contender, its prices on the clothes I actually like are too expensive. When I was around 16, I took the train to NYC every so often to go shopping with friends, one fashionista pal introduced me to Brandy. I immediately fell in love with the store, I wanted to buy every single item and everything was affordable (which never happens)! There were so many options, I gravitated toward the clothes with California references since I love the state. At a later visit in Soho, an employee informed me that one was opening in Greenwich! I was so trilled that I would be 10 minutes away instead of an hour. Since the store opened in Greenwich, it's one of my favorite places. I never fail to bring at least 10 items into the dressing room-that's restricting myself!! Now nearly all my tank tops and majority of my winter sweaters are Brandy. It's the clothing I feel most comfortable and confident in. SOME GREAT (and not so great) POINTS Although the store can't be found at every shopping mall, it is a company that has started to grow. There are 10 locations in California, 3 in NYC, 2 in CT, and 1 in Boston, NJ and Hawaii, then 10 internationally (London, Paris, etc). For Brandy lovers that can't reach a location, there's an online website! The "One size fits all" restriction can either make or break you. Although majority of their clothing fits me, sometimes tank top straps are too long (a bandeau can fix the problem, but sometimes I just don't want to wear one) and I can forget about ever fitting into their longer dresses/skirts with out having to get it tailored. If you want to shop online, it's impossible to know if the clothing will fit you right, especially when some shirts are tight, some sweaters are too big. Of course there is always the return option, but who really has time for that? They have purses, adorable patterned backpacks, jewelry, phone cases, plenty of wooden signs (that sport phrases like "Brandy Melville" "East Coast" "Babe Cave"), and more. I have a "Brandy Melville" sign hanging in my college dorm room-I love telling friends where it's from. I wouldn't mind working at Brandy, but it's clear that they hire a certain "brandy look". If you've ever been to one, you should know what I mean, but maybe if the Greenwich location is hiring this summer, I'll consider applying-I've given them enough money after all. There's endless possibilities of mixing and matching. Many items come in different colors, making you want to buy them all. I'm guilty of having three of the same shirt (in black, off-white, and a floral pattern). They do a great job of making you take regular visits, since most of their items are only sold for a certain amount of time and you don't want to miss out on that cute tank. The good thing is that they always Instagram what's in, so you can't miss out on a new trend. I don't know how I would have shopped if Brandy didn't come to Greenwich. I can't wait to go for my birthday. All I want is for money or gift cards so I can stock up for the summer! read more

I have purchased clothes from Brandy Melville's online store over two weeks ago. They have already charged my credit card, and I have NOT received the merchandise!!! In addition, they have disabled their customer service phone number. I have corresponded via email, and they keep promising to send my merchandise. I have still not received, and I also paid for expedited shipping. I would NOT order from their online store; who knows if or when you would receive the merchandise!!! My daughter purchased a spaghetti strap tank top cross in front and back. I realize the return policy is 14 days unworn, but the stitching came out after she wore the garment 2 times. I called the store, the sales clerk said that it was an issue they are having with the top and would check with her manager, she was quite nice. But, her manager indicated that they have a strict return policy and could do nothing for us. I was only looking for an exchange. Honestly, the only reason this place stays in business is because of all the teenage greenwich girls who go here because there aren't any other good stores around. Their website is horrible because the stuff will be there one day and just be gone the next and you don't know what they actually have. If you want something specific it just comes and goes and impossible to find. The store itself has an okay selection of clothes but some are completely horrendous or look the same, the clothes never really change. When you order something it takes forever to come and theres basically no customer service, though when it finally comes you can fortunately return it to the store. The staff aren't that rude but don't expect them to help you find something. The prices arent even that low they just make a top $18 instead of $20 to make it look cheaper. They do play cool music but most of the girls who shop here aren't cool tbh, except maybe in the city. I do have to admit that I shop here a lot. read more

First off the only reason why I'm giving it three stars is because I love the clothes at Brandy Melville. But I'm not giving it any higher because the costumer services was terrible. I walked in no one greeted me at the door or asked if I needed any help. Normally when you walk in the store the employe greets you and asked you for help whether they are busy or not, and Brandy wasn't busy. I entered and walked around employes just walking past me. They didn't take my clothes to the fitting room. I tried it on carrying everything. The didn't come to check if I needed a different size or anything. When I asked if they had a shirt in a different color the employe groaned and didn't even know, it was like I was asking her a huge favor which I obvislouy wasn't. Rude, lazy sales girls. I could just copy the reviewers below - same treatment here. I was sized up when I went in and for some reason was dismissed. I went in for a particular item and when I asked for it they just tossed their heads and said try the front of the store. There was no one else in the store. One was eating a salad behind the register and looking at her phone. I found the item and would have put it down but a friend had asked me to get it for her. When I got to the register with that and another item again I got the head roll and the one looking at the phone told the other one to ring me out. She was even rude to her fellow worker. No smiles, no thank you. Sure the clothes are reasonably priced and I have three daughters who have shopped there and I have shopped for them. NO MORE. I too, have never written a bad review. I usually compliment the good places because I feel like no one pays the the time to that. I have found the exception to my personal rule. Horrible, terrible store. Did not remove sensor tag...refuses to answer their phones. Online customer service lies and says they contacted their CEO who also could not get in touch with the store. Horrible. Heard that Nordstroms actually goes to the customer's house to remove the tags.
