There were two employees working - Quentin and Marcela - and they both jumped to help. They didn't push products, but they listened to the issues I was trying to address, pulled a variety of products out for me to try, and then very clearly explained why they liked each one and how I could use it. They knew so much about each one it was really impressive...they listed active ingredients, explained why each was important, told me how the products I was considering could work together, etc. They also both seemed really excited about the products and giving me samples they thought I'd like. I literally walked out of the store and felt like I had won the lottery. I would never go to any other store to buy my products. Quentin and Marcela were true professionals - they were very well trained, honest, trustworthy, they really understood the products and were easy to talk to.

As usual, like any other days, the owners personally service their clients even they have one helper that is around. They are very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. It is a standard store with lots of stocks. Lots in sale especially for their old inventory. They will let you know of their latest arrivals as well. The best part of the service are the free give aways after the purchase. Parking is not a problem and next to different stores. I will come back again.

The man helping me was especially rude and dismissive. I tried explaining some more mainstream fragrances I already like, hoping he could use those as a reference point to guide me toward niche scents with a similar profile. Rather than engaging or asking questions, he acted like he couldn't be bothered. I understand this is a niche fragrance store and that the brands I mentioned may not be what they carry, but that was exactly why I came in: I wanted someone knowledgeable to help translate what I already like into something new. Unfortunately, his attitude became so unpleasant that halfway through smelling fragrances, I decided to leave. It's pretty remarkable to have a customer walk in excited and ready to spend a few hundred dollars and make them feel so unwelcome that they walk out empty-handed. Such a disappointing experience. My best friend and I were looking for things to do in the city and I came across Olfactory as an…read moreoption. The idea of creating your own custom perfume was so cute to me, and it seemed like a great useful keepsake from the trip! You're able to make reservations online I believe, but since we were going on a Monday, we decided to keep our schedule flexible and do a walk-in when we were ready to stop by. REALLY strong scents when you go inside, almost the entire time actually! The staff greeted us immediately to see if we had a reservation and since we didn't, they walked us through what the process would be like. You first pick out your base scent - there are quite a few to choose from, and I had to eventually step outside to distinguish between the smells a little bit better. After you pick your base scent, you let your staff know what you liked about it, and also scents you generally are adverse to. They then mix together a few combinations and have you once again pick your top 3-4. They then put those combinations onto your skin so you can smell how your own scent mixes with the perfumes. It was definitely hard for me and my bestie to decide, maybe we took a bit longer than most people would! I do wish they had something to help cleanse our noses from all the different scents. I also wish they gave us wipes at the end because we had 4 different perfumes on our arms from the tests! At the end, you get to pick your color for your bottle as well as name it! You only get 9 letters so definitely think ahead!
