I had good service here for years. They don't accept Apple Pay or credit card unless over $5 which is reasonable. What isn't reasonable is that I was yelled at by the lead pharmacist, Manny. Screamed at. He was short of help, he said, but screaming at a customer is not way to act in a small town. He said "go to cvs. Don't come back here!" My crime? Not needing 2 of the 6 of the filled prescriptions that I didn't even know my PCP had sent over. I said sorry, that I didn't know she had sent over prescriptions I didn't need, but he slammed my meds on the counter, accepted my payment, repeated that I should go to cvs and not come back, then retreated behind the counter, but not before throwing my meds at me. I will no longer be going here due to their rudeness . I've been going here for a long time and try to support small local business . However on several trips this past year I have been met with rudeness and abrupt responsives from staff and pharmacy . I know they are under new ownership however I am sure customer service like that it will be difficult to sustain sadly . i was just there last week and witnessed the staff being rude to people asking questions re: the covid vaccines etc. Earlier this week I called with a particular question and was met the same way . As mentioned in my tip, it delights me to have a local place where I can buy shampoo from France, body wash from Germany and moisturizer from Japan. It's similar to that drug store in NYC, maybe around 23rd/6th, that carries hard-to-find, high end make-up brands from around the world. This place not only stays up to date and relevant but also introduces me to product lines I have never heard of, and that's saying alot as I'm at Gift Shows around the country looking at new products constantly. It's new location next to the Organic Market will allow you to grab some food or a juice and pamper yourself with beauty products. A++ p.s. I am especially grateful for the French shampoo offered here especially after running out of shampoo during Blizzard Nemo. The only thing in the house was my dog's shampoo, which is made from all natural ingredients and did make my hair very fluffy. But, there's something about pouring out dog shampoo for myself versus something luxurious from France. :-) UPDATE - dropped from 5 stars to 3 stars after returning a product I mistakenly bought 2 of...after that experience, would simply rather buy things online. What a shame as I love supporting local businesses despite being an internet seller myself. read more

I have been using Achorn's for 20 years in two locations and have been delighted by the customer service in their pharmacy at every visit. You may suspect I'm a mature gentleman (even an old fart), and you'd be right. So I remember when there were no chain pharmacies -- no names, please! -- and the sort of personal service those privately-owned establishments offered. I step into Achorn's and back to 1965 -- without the soda fountain, which I must admit I miss. They know my name; they know the medications I take; with a glance at the computer they know which ones have no refills left and happily contact the doctors themselves to get a renewal. If they don't have my medication in stock, they get it within 12 to 24 hours. When special situations arrive, like an extended vacation, they work the insurance company angles to get what I need to be covered during a long absence. In short, I can't imagine how they could be any better! And if you're buying medications covered by insurance, the prices are exactly the same at those larger locations. So please don't go there if you don't already because right now the worst line I experience is one person in front of me! read more

Just had the most horrible experience at this pharmacy. My doctor prescribed 2 medications for me. When I came to pick them up (2 days later) - I need to take these medicines daily - the pharmacists said that the person responsible for taking prescriptions is on vacation and that they don't have what I need. Just like that!!! Just like: I don't care you won't have your medicine. They guy was very very rude to me despite the fact I was desperate for my medicines. Never come here. Disrespectful personnel. read more

I couldn't find a separate place to review the Achorn Beauty Bar (next door), but I also love this little pharmacy with the big name (high end) beauty products. The Beauty Bar carries different (more trendy) brands of makeup, skin and hair care products. PLUS, there's Sarah, who is not only an artist...she LISTENS! So whatever look you're going for, go see Sarah at the Achorn Beauty Bar. read more

My favorite independent pharmacy, the staff is AMAZING- no more sitting on hold with CVS/Walgreens or waiting in a 20 minute line. RX prices are 1/2 CVS/Walgreens prices plus Achorn has an incredible, attentive staff that are available - they - actual person - call you with questions and/or to let you know an RX is ready.Only wish I knew about this incredible place earlier! Classic pharmacy feel and service with up to date luxe products. Ahava is a daily use product for me and they carry an extensive amount of their product. You can also find other hard to find/luxe products as well and many many fragrances for men and women. I'm a firm believer in the "you get what you pay for" saying and when you don't mind paying a little extra to take care of yourself it's nice knowing there is a place you can get the items you need/desire. read more

If you are looking for efficient, accurate and personalized service look no further than Achorn Pharmacy. The friendly staff will fill your prescription quickly and notify you if there are any concerns. No waiting in long lines and they go above and beyond. Yesterday I needed to get a 90-day supply of medication for my son who is going away to school. The insurance would not cover a 90-day supply but Achorn took some information from me and said they would contact the insurance company. I came back an hour later after finishing a class next door at Pure Barre (also highly recommended) and the prescription was approved and filled. Try getting that service at a chain pharmacy. Why bother waiting in line at CVS when Achorns is faster, smarter and friendlier? They go out of their way for customer service.

I went to achorn pharmacy to see if they had a specialty item that i needed. They did not, but i spoke with the pharmacy aid and they looked up the product for me and ordered it. The product was there the next day. When i was at the store , they spent time with me and were very caring and helpful. it is so nice to deal with an old fashioned pharmacy that really cares about you and goes the extra mile. thank you for your customer service. Love this modern, high-end pharmacy with old school attention to customer service. It reminds me of some of New York City's best apothecaries and pharmacies, stocking luxury skincare, makeup, and haircare products, along with a large selection of vitamins (including Solgar,) perfumes, luxe candles, and great gift items. The owners, pharmacists, and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. Owner Manny once stayed open half and hour late on a Sunday so that I could pick up a hand brace after an injury and trip to the emergency room. Most importantly, picking up a prescription is always a civilized, pleasant experience, utterly unlike going to a large chain pharmacy where one waits, and waits, and waits.... *Achorn also delivers.* It doesn't get any better than this, except it does: Achorn is planning an expansion of their space to accommodate their expanding lines of luxury cosmetics, skin, and haircare products customers, like myself, have been requesting. I always enjoy shopping for gifts here, too: what's better than finding and giving the perfect gift that you, yourself, would love to receive, while avoiding the craziness of a mall? Jane who woman's the cosmetics counter is incredibly knowledgable. She has turned me on to several excellent new products as well as referred me to a great hair salon and stylist to go to when I am in town rather than having to schlep back to the city.
