I had surgery with Dr, Levin on Sept 9th 2024. Prior to the surgery I had a consult where I mentioned I had dry eyes from Lasik and was concerned If this surgery would make it worse. Dr Levin told me this surgery would not worsen my dry eye as it is not a common side effect of a lower bleph. She did not examine the insides of eyes at all. I had another visit right before the surgery and mentioned the dry eye again she told me It would not worsen from the surgery. The morning of the surgery I said to Dr, Levin please be careful of my glands... Dr Levin replied and what glands? this should have been a red flag for me. Since the surgery, my dry eye is so severe that I am now homebound leave the house and cannot take care of my kids. My glands have completely shut down. I also don't make many tears so I absolutely nothing coating my eyes when I blink. Every blink feels like sand paper and glue. I feel a constant rubbing in my right eye when I blink. I'm told it's scar tissue. I have had 10 IPL's, punctal cautery surgery four times and probing. I've spent over 15k on treatments since this surgery to improve the dry eye. I sleep with plastic wrap over my face and an eye mask. My eyes still dry out and need drops all through the night. I have tried every eye drop available, but nothing has worked. My doctors tell me this is a result of the surgery and it's very common. Dr Levin said none of this is from her surgery and she is not a dry eye doctor. I have been left to figure this out myself. This surgery has destroyed my life. My under eyes look awful as well like nothing was done or worse. I have to wear moisture chamber glasses 24/7. Every doctor that seems me can't believe I had a lower blepharoplasty because of how awful it looks. I am writing this to warn others and hopefully prevent someone else from suffering the way I have. Please don't ever have this surgery If you have dry eyes and or go to a doctor who will examine the health of your eyes. I'm a mom of 5 boys who are my world. I regret ever having this surgery has it's destroyed all our lives. Horrible customer service from the front desk to the doctor. Front desk staff is cold and has an attitude. During a hydro facial the esthetician suggested that my diamond earring were fake?? And had Botox with the doctor and she became very defensive and accusatory when I went back asking for a bit more on one side to correct a spock brow she had caused. I had been getting Botox for years at that point and most injectors want you to come back and see if they need to make little tweaks. Not her. She acted like I had no idea what I was talking about and that I was insulting her skills. Just ridiculous mean girl behavior from the whole staff. In an area teaming with plastic surgeons you can definitely do better than this practice. read more

I have never left a review, either positive or negative, ever! This experience got to me. This was "only" a small matter of miscommunication on behalf of Levin's office staff and the App Klara. In the end, after a 3 month wait, I arrived early to fill out the paperwork required. To begin, somehow along the way, the App would not open for me, which they send thru a text message, with whomever is contacting patients for confirmations. As I was not able to open Klara, I text back and told them so. At no point did anyone at the office acknowledge this. They actually told me they have no involvement nor knowledge about the App. Well, It makes appointments, of course they know. I also made several phone calls to the office, left messages, and was told I did not. Straight out, insinuated I was a liar. The entire situation should never have happened, but I was greeted by the girl at the front desk, the one who was sitting on the left, with a serious attitude. Several months ago, I visited this office to see a nurse, and I recall how unfriendly she was then. I had no idea she was the "check out" staff. As you walk into the office, she is in straight line with the door, so I made the judgment call she was the check in person. Since she was not, it would have been productive for the other staff person to direct me to go to her. No signs indicating who was doing what on the desk. When I told the first girl, the App was failing me, she became defensive and accusatory, at which point, with others in the waiting room, I stood "strongly" for myself, emphasis on strongly, which they will describe as abusive, but not if I were a man! She was humiliating me. To add insult to injury, she mentioned she called me 3 times and I hung up on her‍ Does that even remotely make sense? Why would I do that, as I waited 3 months for this appointment and I have proof of how many times I reached out thru the text directing me to Klara? WHY? I then informed her that I have an App called Robokiller, and the app identifies calls via my contact list, and if not on my list, the person simply has to state their name while robokiller allows me to answer the call. When I told her this, she looked at her colleague, they both smirked at me in a very demeaning manner, as if I made that up. I cannot even make this up!! As they were judgmental, I told them they should look it up. It stops millions of scammers!! Unfortunately, it became a gang up on me, inclusive of the Practice Manager, and no doubt, it moved me to a negative place of having to defend myself with my heels dug in the ground. At no time, did I use language that may have been offensive during our heated conversation, which Dr. Levin accused me of, stating she requires a safe place for her staff and patients. Well then, she should re-staff with kind, caring, non accusatory, insecure woman who get pleasure pouncing on someone for mistakes they made. Blame the patient to save my job! In return, I also have an expectation of going to a doctor appointment without being emotionally abused. To keep all things honest, the manager told me "you do not belong here" holy God. I picked up my belongings, opened the door,. and upon leaving I did express the 2 words, starting with F and Y, and that was the only time, with God as my witness, any cursive words left my lips the three mean girls. Quite frankly, they had it coming. Dr. Levin will reply to this and defend her staff, but I know others that have had negative experience with Levins staff and Dr. Levin herself. After all, she does set the tone of the offie, yes? For the record, I can have at least a dozen doctors and business professionals who know me for years, and they will all say, when I walk in the office, everyone is happy to see me. **WORTH THE READ** About 20 years ago I was in a serious car accident, which resulted in significant nerve damage to my right eyelid. Back then, the doctors told me that there was no procedure that could correct the damage. I was left with a "droopy" right eye lid, which did impact my line of vision. On top of that, aesthetically, my eyes were very asymmetrical. I was constantly straining the right side of my face to open my right eye further, and I was criticizing and/or destroying so many photos because of my insecurity surrounding the asymmetry. Well, I finally decided to do the research and see if there were any medical advancements. Since I'd never undergone facial surgery, I thoroughly did my research. I cross referenced every ocular medical review I could find, I read articles written by multiples Doctors, I looked at before and after pictures - and finally came upon Dr. Levin. During our first consultation, she was kind and patiently answered my (over)abundance of questions. She ultimately suggested we stitch the nerve inside of my right eyelid, to result in a 2-4mm improvement. She tested the procedure by placing eye drops in my right eye, that would temporarily mimic the results that we'd see from the surgery. Within minutes of putting in the drops, my right eye opened more on its own, and the right side of my face began to relax. It turns out, I had trained my brain to raise my right eyebrow, to compensate and open the right eye further (so my right eye did not open as much as my left eye, and my right eyebrow was constantly scrunched to sit higher than my left eyebrow.) Wow, so there is actually a medical solution for this? I don't have to deal with the strain and stress (and headaches) all the time?! I decided to throw in a full upper blastoma on the left eye and a partial upper blastoma on the right, as a purely cosmetic addition. I left the consultation feeling confident, optimistic and in very good hands. Surgery day. I can imagine an expert in the field might get frustrated with all of my nervous questions - not Dr. Levin. She patiently answered every concern I had, and I went in to surgery feeling great. When I woke up, I could immediately see the results. Despite the obvious swelling, I looked great. Today I am 40 days post op, the stitches have all either dissolved or been removed and the results are amazing. Not only do I have symmetry, but I look more awake and alert. It took a few weeks for my brain to understand that I didn't have to scrunch my forehead to further open my right eye, but my forehead is now smooth and relaxed, my eyes are symmetrical and even - and I no longer see my eyelid in my line of sight. I would recommend Dr. Levin to anyone. She is the best in the business, and if you do the research, you will come to the same conclusion. If you select her for a procedure, you will become a fan for life. I can't explain how good it feels to have fixed something that has been a problem, a stress and a concern for 20 years. I am so happy Flora was a referral from my eye doctor. I am more than happy with the work she did to my kids. I can wear makeup again and i am very pleased with the results. Positive: The office is clean and comfortable; Lots of parking available Dr. Levin is very knowledgeable about filler to the lower eyelid area, especially for women Negative: I was charged a consultation fee of $195 for a brief ten minute consultation. I didn't think it was worth it...especially considering that she didn't think she could help me with the issues I had with my eyelids. She said she would give me the name of another doctor that could help me, but in the end she forgot to do that and just moved on to her next patient. IMO, it was not a particularly friendly or pleasant practice. I thought the staff was cold. I didn't feel welcome. With all due respect to the other reviewers, Dr. Levin didn't come off as sweet and compassionate when I saw her. Maybe she was having a bad day. read more

I came to Dr. Levin a couple of weeks ago with a pretty serious medical issue from a cosmetic procedure performed elsewhere, and I can truly attest that she is an expert in her field. She was incredibly kind, patient, and caring, and knew exactly what to do to remedy the issue. I had heard about her previously because a friend of mine had a blepharoplasty done with her a couple of years ago and was absolutely thrilled with her results, which look very natural and beautiful. I have to agree with another review here by Nobam y. Additionally, whenever I would speak with Allyson on the phone at the front desk about concerns, both pre and post op, it seemed as if I was bothering her and she would usually rush me off the phone. If I had questions, she would get impatient and short. Very poor phone etiquette. She comes off as cold and uncaring. As far as Dr. Levin is concerned ,the results of her surgery, which I was never really satisfied with, began to fail within the second year. During my last visit with her, she told me "you have unusual features", which made me feel even more self conscious about my issues. Last week, I spoke with Allyson on the phone about booking an appointment with Dr. Levin to treat a chalazion on one of my eyelids, which was supposedly remover by Dr. Levin and is now growing back, and starting grow over my eyeball. She was very short once again and told me Dr. Levin doesn't perform insurance based procedures any longer. I told Allyson I didn't expect it to be covered by insurance ,and she told me to see my regular eye doctor.I thought I was still a patient of Dr.Levin,but was basically given the brush off.I will be going elsewhere form now on. I've had a blepharo spasm from Bells Palsy since 1978. I've been to Jane Olsen, Cesar Sierra, Dr Della Rocca & Jan Kronish for Botox for the spasm for years.I only went to Flora a few times before she dropped ALL insurance including Medicare. Dr. Flora Levin is very professional, kind, intelligent and the BEST oculofacial plastic surgeon in the world! I was very depressed because of my appearance, as my under eye bags were bulky and hideous. They were the only thing I saw when I looked in the mirror. As a 50 year old male I pride myself on trying to stay healthy and fit and while many things are within my control I began to notice that my eye lids were beginning to become more noticeably droopy and at times felt like my vision would be obstructed because of it. People would often say you look tired and I felt as if my eye lids were the reason. I did some research on eye lid surgery before deciding on meeting with Dr. Flora Levin for a consultation. From the first phone call to set up my consultation through surgery, she and her staff have all been amazing. Diane is so sweet , informative and very quick to respond to my calls or messages. Allison always greeted me with a great smile and was there for any questions I may have had. When I went in for the consult, Dr. Levin took so much time with me explaining the procedure and the results I could expect. Then again at pre op her bedside manner is amazing. She made me feel so comfortable which reinforced my decision to move forward with this procedure. From start to finish my surgery was about an hour.
