Kitchen Direct and the President/Owner Peter Curti took $35,000 of our money and never completed…read morethe renovation of our kitchen. All our bottom kitchen doors were made incorrect. We were given plywood doors and drawers when we paid for real wooden doors. All the staining was missing throughout the kitchen. Front and bottom panels were never installed and a top cabinet door was never made. Because of the wrong size cabinets we also cannot access our trash or recycling bins. The cabinets we chose were Showplace Cabinetry and even though our kitchen is under warranty, Showplace refuses to do the warranty work. Showplace will only deal with the Kitchen Direct. Throughout the entire kitchen renovation there were a multitude of mistakes, errors, inaccurate measurements etc. Scott C. sent us a letter telling us that he was too frustrated and that he quit. We fought this for months through the BBB and the RI Attorney General's office. Kitchen Direct is not a reputable company. The AG's office does not have the authority to force him to complete the work, or to have his license revoked. We have called Showplace and sent emails to the President, only to be hung up on and emails that went unanswered. We have been living a nightmare, and we do not have the money to obtain an Attorney. After paying $35,000 our only option is to paint the entire kitchen and hire someone to build a cabinet door and all the missing panels, again, we do not have the money! If Scott Curti has a rebuttal with this complaint, PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!! Do not purchase any cabinetry from Kitchen Direct, Inc. or any cabinetry that is made by Showplace Cabinetry as they will not stand by their mistakes and only will deal with the kitchen company direct and not the homeowner. He disappeared during the middle of construction when he made a few mistakes that we brought up. He was never seen again. We are so disappointed in our remodel. The cabinets are nice but the finishing touches are so disappointing. There was also poor communication with granite installer and our island was messed up. Peter tried to fix it but it failed and he was out of ideas and we were out 25,000. If you want tears and wasted money, than this is the place for you.

It has taken some time to process our experience with Cabinets to Go (CTG). What began as an…read moreexciting home project devolved into a costly, frustrating ordeal defined by misinformation, misrepresentation, and a total disregard for our time. The initial design phase with Jeff was a clear warning sign. After three hours of sitting through a tedious planning session, it became evident that our time was not being respected. Despite this, we moved forward based on personal recommendations and the available Veterans discount. Over the course of 100+ interactions via email, text, and phone, Jeff remained courteous, yet he consistently provided answers that lacked technical accuracy. Jeff insisted that a two-level island was our only option. It wasn't until we met with Joe (who was a breath of fresh air) that we learned this was incorrect. Joe redesigned the kitchen to fit our actual measurements, wants, and budget. Jeff's final design did not match my provided sketches. A wall measurement error resulted in the delivery of cabinets that physically did not fit the space. Due to incorrect spacing calculations between the dishwasher and pantry, we were forced to return a "pull-out" cabinet we loved and settle for drawers we disliked just to make the layout functional. Jeff was unable to determine the correct sizing for the under-sink area, leading to further downsizing of adjacent drawers that we had specifically requested to be larger. The most egregious error involved the island color. The CTG website displays a dark cabinet as part of the Platinum collection. Jeff claimed this was a "website glitch" and charged us extra for a custom paint job. In reality, the color is Hampton Grey--l, a standard option. This blatant misrepresentation and the company's refusal to acknowledge the error added unnecessary costs to our project. While we are grateful for Joe's expertise and the customer service team's help in resolving shipping errors, the overall experience was exhausting. Jeff's "confident delivery of misinformation" turned a dream project into an expensive headache. If you use this location, ask for Joe. Avoid working with Jeff if you value accuracy and your budget. In hindsight, we wish we had taken our business elsewhere.

I contacted Don, the owner to ask if he could come by and repair it. He didn't seem enthusiastic to help us. Instead of coming over to look at the issue, he tried to walk me through repairing it over the phone. I sent him several pictures to show him what needed repairing. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to repair it with his guidance and I asked him if he planned to come out and take a look for himself. Instead of trying to accommodate our situation, he simply said, I don't think it can be repaired. I attempted to call him again and again, only to be ignored. Needless to say we never received a call back. That was very disheartening to say the least. We felt at that point, once we gave him the sale, he didn't feel that he owed us anything.
