I got a call at 9:30pm tonight from a number I didn't recognize so I declined it and sent to voicemail. Ten seconds later the same number calls me and I decline again. Ten seconds later the number calls me a third time so I pick up the phone thinking it must be some sort of emergency or serious situation for someone to be calling me 3 times in a row at 9:30pm. I pick up the phone and it is someone from Able Wood Floors. The representative literally says to me "Hi this is Able wood floors. You requested work on your floors or something??? Or what do you want? You know it costs me money every time I have to call you." Dumbfounded at the audacity, I explain that I was just poking around for budgeting and planning purchases and wasn't ready to hire (as I clearly indicated on the site). Given this, I said I was a little confused why someone was repeatedly calling ME at 9:30 AT NIGHT after being sent to voicemail twice to then tell me that I AM COSTING THEM MONEY for each time they're calling me. The woman's response was that "Yea well sorry about the 9:30 at night but I gotta call or I lose it with Home advisor. It's f*cking retarded. I'm about done with them I'm telling ya." After I restate I am not looking to hire right now she literally says "well when you're looking to hire keep me in mind." I AM F*CKING REELING RIGHT NOW IN DISBELIEF THAT THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. Yes, Abe Wood Floors, I am DEFINITELY going to hire you after you harass me on the phone at an unreasonable hour to then essentially scold me for "costing you" for every phone call. Are you calling from a pay phone? More importantly, are you high???? Thankfully, I've learned everything anyone needs to know about this joke of a company's professionalism without having to hire them and find out the hard way. Steer clear.

Tried contacting several times via phone and email without response. after a year the carpet looks like it is 15 years old. finally chose to replace it all with vinyl and another company. didn't find out until we went to install it that the carpet put on our hardwood stairs were nailed into with about a hundred staples in each of the stair backs, sides and tread part. Ruining the hardwood stairs as they drove huge amounts of staples into the tread parts of all the stairs. We had NO idea they had done this at the time and they removed the original carpet so they saw how it was previously installed so they KNEW better than to damage wood flooring with hundreds of large staples! Never again! Not happy to find this was done and that when we tried to get a response with the carpet they ignored our contacting them. they never came out to see the work when it was done to check up n who they sent if they would have seen the carpet alone wasn't done right!

His quote for the exterior was about 50-60% less than any other contractor, interior was about the same or a little less. After that point, he told me he would be able to come in about two weeks (or very soon). He ended up not responding to me every time I would reach out and ask about it and it wasn't until about 2-3 months later that he came to do the job. I basically had to chase him to figure out when it would be done which was extremely stressful. When he was ready to do it, he literally told me the day of that he wanted to come and start working, even though I had asked him for a few days notice. He is very bad with communication, unless you get him at a good time for him. His workers did a good job on my house and I was happy with the job, but after a year and 9 months, my house started peeling and bubbling. I am not sure if this is because of the work done or just because of my house. Leo responded to me telling about it initially and said he would come look at it, but then proceeded to ghost me and not respond to any further messages. Basically, he will respond to an initial communication and come right then, but anything after that he will ignore and not follow up on. He is nice in person, and his workers all did a great job, but I am now disappointed. He doesn't stand behind his work and not responding to people you are working for is disrespectful.

A door frame needed to be repaired an I pointed out a bunch of cedar shakes I wanted replaced. The door doesn't close properly because the job was done poorly and in addition to not replacing a bunch of shingles that should have been replaced, they cut them out around the old shingles, not slid under another 1200. There are drips everywhere, including on trim, on a roof above my door and on my deck, so sloppy. I love the color but I am not impressed by much on this job. They were a contractor not Elco, I could have hired someone with less overhead and saved money, but I wanted experience. I am so disappointed this review is 3 months late. I paid quite a bit, we shall see how long it lasts. We have always painted ourselves but the house is too tall. I would never use Elco again. The owner called me after I called him saying after all the issues did you not want to hear what I thought. The foreman was a joke, never met him even though he was supposed to be onsite until I told the estimator I had never spoken to him. I wish I never sent the final payment but I really just wanted them gone! They were here over a month because they hardly put a full day. I thought my feelings would have subsided but every day that I see 3 broken deck lights, a snapped solar light wire and 3 broken vinyl sleeve covers on the portico, I realize I should have withheld payment.
