For the longest time the food snobs in my family had no interest in coming HERE simply because it falls under the category of "Asian Fusion". They firmly believe the term to be the antithesis of authentic (i.e. negative) when it comes to food. After a little arm twisting though, I was able to convince them to give this place a chance. Yes, their menu does cover a lot of different cuisines like Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai and even some Hawaiian. However, the wide variety of dishes they offer worked in our favor since everyone in my family of 6 usually wants something different. We got a tuna roll, crab rangoons, lo mein, General Tso's chicken, sweet & sour chicken, Korean spicy chicken and a chicken Katsu bowl to share. Everything was so remarkable that even the pickiest eaters among us were impressed. Personally, I only had one issue. It may be persnickety, but I'm always bothered when meats and vegetables are cut into chunks that are too big and unwieldy to eat with ease especially when there are no knives handy. It gives the impression of haste in the preparation. Other than that, I too, loved the flavors. The service was very prompt even though they had signs up to warn customers that they were understaffed. Overall, very satisfied with the quality of food. I ordered the green beans with chicken and a new Mexican roll . The chicken green beans were OK. But the star of the show was definitely the New Mexico. It had just the right amount of spicy! I definitely enjoyed the Thai tea not being super sweet. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This is my mom's go-to place to get asian food. Usually short staffed, but the staff they do have working is nice and helpful! The fried rice is huge and tastes good!! I went during lunch time on a weekday and was able to get a lunch special item. For the price I paid and the portion I received, it was worth it! The rice was a bit dry, and I didn't like the mushroom tempura because it was kind of wet and squishy feeling when I usually want a crispy texture in tempuras. The interior was nice and clean and so was the restroom. There was background music if anyone likes that. I ordered the family meal for carry out and wasn't very impressed. 3 of the 4 entrees were coated and fried in a heavy batter. I'd have preferred the protein sautéed. The sauces were packed on the side which was nice though. If we go back I'll try the sushi next time. read more

Had lunch here with a friend and he had the lunch menu chicken meal. It's a great deal and quickly prepared. I had the Montana roll. It was pretty good, though a bit heavy and at the edge of overwhelming with the sauces. A tad on spicy side but overall pretty good. We also got some edamame, but they drowned it in a garlic sauce, which when we saw garlic edamame we imagined it would be seasoned with garlic and not dripping from the edamame like honey. Just salted edamame is fine for me in the future. I did see a familiar face in the manager Amy, who used to run the Osaka buffet in Plano. She's a great asset and really comforting knowing that she is running the store Overall it's a bit higher on the price side, but the rolls have always come out well any time we've been here. This ranks as one of my wife's favorite places, though her sushi palate is fairly new. They have a roll for every state and I think it's fun to go through and see what they have representing each state. It should be fun going through the list. read more

Like so many businesses all seem to be facing hiring challenges. HERE noted at the entryway that they are short staffed, hiring and service maybe a little slow. For a Friday night there were plenty of open seats, some carry out orders being filled and agree service was a little slower but in a way it was welcomed as it allowed us to enjoy our conversation and food instead of being rushed through the dinner and out the door in 30 minutes. Wontons were filled and tasty. Edamame was warm with a little salt. Ahi Tower was a close match to one of our other favorite sushi restaurants so pleased. Also tried the Texas Specialty roll. Tried this place for dinner one night. I was really craving Chinese and sushi! I started with the crab rangoons! Happy I only got 4 because these puppies were pretty big. Stuffed to protection and just the right amount of crisp. Also ordered the basic California roll. Great taste and filling. Was more than enough and inexpensive. I also ordered the orange peel entree with lo mien as the side. Ummm let's just say I was not expecting the amount of food received. Like I ate on it for a couple days and shared it. It was really good. I hate that I forgot to request that the orange peel be removed, but it was to over powering at all. I did request extra spicy so it had an extra kick.. wish I wouldn't asked for double spicy. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics bc I was drunk and tired from the pool, but that's a story for another day lol will definitely be going back to try more on this menu. read more

Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I had been wanting to try this place out for a long time and it was only okay. I've dined in twice now and if someone really wanted to come, I would probably play along, but I will not seek this place out on my own. The atmosphere and décor is very nice. The bathrooms are even bathed in blue light until you turn the lights on- very interesting and actually quite safe. There is a bar area, the tables are very bright and there are clean lines. Overall, a great atmosphere. Service is very friendly. You may need to wait to be seated, but I've only come for late lunches, so they may have more staff at other times. The servers have been very sweet and the food has come out fast. Unfortunately, on both of my visits, it took a very long time to get my check. Servers were MIA for the later half of service. I was more prepared the second time and brought cash. On my first visit I got a chicken katsu bento and some nigiri. The rice and California roll were fine on that visit. My chicken was overcooked so some of it was quite rubbery. It was alright for being in the $10 range, but I get bento boxes a lot and expected much more. I got the salmon and red snapper nigiri, those are my favorites and they were both in the $5 range. The fish had a semi frozen texture, but somehow tasted too fishy. I was disappointed. I read through the reviews and the happiest were with Chinese food and the rolls. I decided to come a couple of months later and try to rolls to give them a fair shake. I ordered their lunch special (choose 2 rolls) getting the salmon and a California roll. The rolls are only okay, the sushi isn't very high quality. It's not bad, but about what you would get at a Kroger. The California roll was better than the salmon, which was surprising. The salmon was better than the last time, about average quality. However, something was weirdly bitter and crunchy in the roll, the cucumber perhaps? I also tried the salad on this visit. The dressing was too sweet for my taste, so I didn't eat much, but I thought the lettuce had a strangely crunchy texture too, not crisp, but hard. Eh, it'll do in a pinch, but there are much better places around. I felt it was 2 1/2 stars overall and since I didn't try some of their most popular dishes, it only seems fair to round up. Since sushi is in the name though, that's what I came for and was a bit let down. I would recommend Home Taste or Asahi for the Flower Mound area instead. read more

A decent sushi restaurant, took off a star because you can get better sushi for the same price in central Carrollton. Visited the this restaurant last night. Food was good and price was decent. We dined in and it was a bit loud. We paid with our mastercard for me and my wife and when we got the receipt, we were being told we had to pay 20% tip on our meal. I dont pay 20% on meals...sorry, but I dont want to be told what I am going to tip either! My wife was asking what I was talking about to our friends and I told her that they were not happy either with the tip amount. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the service was very fast. The norimaki and nigiri here is ok; basic American sushi, not great but not bad; just fine for a quick lunch. The tuna maki (norimaki = roll) was the best part of the order I would say; the eel avocado maki not so much, since it was only 10% eel and 90% avocado. I did run into one rather amusing issue though... we ordered the "wasabi edamame," which came in this very thick and delicious soy sauce. We noted that it didn't have event a hint of wasabi in the sauce, but didn't pay it much mind at first since it tasted good. However, my mother got to one piece that looked like a misshapen edamame piece. She bit into it, only to realize that it was a *solid* chunk of wasabi. That explained why the sauce didn't taste like wasabi; it wasn't actually blended into the sauce! I found it to be really funny honestly, but hopefully the next person that orders this dish won't succumb to the same spicy fate haha! read more

Went on a Wednesday evening around 5:30pm and it was not busy at all! They have a great happy hour list full of appetizers, drinks and sushi rolls. We ordered chicken egg rolls and edamame for appetizers. Both appetizers were so good and perfectly seasoned. Next time I want to try their variety of soups they have as well. For dinner we ordered orange chicken with fried rice and the North Carolina roll. The ingredients are fresh but the only thing I do wish was that they had pictures for every roll. The menu is extensive but the waiter was so nice and gave us suggestions based on what we like. The portions are enough to share and prices are reasonable. They have TVs to show sports and what not but it is a very relax environment to have good conversation. We will be back! read more

Had dinner there a few weeks ago and it was awesome! Signs all over about labor shortage and we could see the (manager?) running all over - but the expectation was there about getting seated and started. We're fine with that and really feel for them. We got our order taken in fair order, but delivery was fast! That is a well running kitchen! Had lots of sashimi and the fish was all fresh, great sized portions. Rolls were tasty and very well done. Drinks came fast as well and were refilled when needed. So, once we were seated things were smooth. Great job!
