Simply put, it was the best experience we have had in over 20 years of sending our pups to a kennel! This is so much more than a kennel.... The setting itself sets WDR apart from the competition: it's a residential setting with a large acreage for the dogs to roam and play in, large indoor/outdoor kennels spread out over a few outbuildings on the property (they also have an indoor setting for smaller breeds that looks really nice, but we didn't use)....Our dog, like many, tends to resist bring dropped off at kennels, the vet, etc., but he welcomed his visit there and really bonded with the owner, Kelli, who's caring, professional and honest with customers. She's also very flexible on Custom drop off and pickup times, and care requirements for your pup. You get daily updates/pix of your animals, too! We are certain that Shadow was well cared for at Weatherford Dog Ranch, and, in fact, we're boarding him there again in a few weeks. Check out the happy look on his face during his time there)

They actually care about you and your pets. Making a reservation was super easy, the whole staff is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Before I made the reservation I spoke with Jonelle and she was very nice. While my dogs were there they even sent a couple of updates about how they were without me even asking which I REALLY appreciated as my dogs are truly my babies. We also have a boy who has issues with his ears so we don't touch them and I told them and they listening to my requests about that. They also let my babies room together which was so helpful for me and for them to feel more comfortable. I can't express how much I appreciate them. However, upon a second visit with my Yorkies I can truly say I will never return again. After I picked up my dogs, I noticed the workers were acting a bit "off" when I picked up my dogs, I never paid it any attention until a couple days later I noticed my Yorkies eye swollen and crusted on her cheek. I went to scrub the "crust" off and after cleaning it I discovered a huge hole in her cheek, that crust was a scab covering an obvious slice from either scissors or clippers. It was the size of a dime and starting to become infected. If the workers simply told me upon pickup that she was injured I would have been able to care for her properly, however now it's too late for that and my poor dog has a scar on her cheek with possibly no new hair growth surrounding that area. Please do not take your babies here.

We are able to take anything that will make Preston feel at home and the inside of the run feels like a home as music plays in the background. When I dropped him off, I specifically declined the late-night treat because I know my dog does not like peanut butter. However, when I picked him up the next day around 2:00 PM, I was surprised to find charges on my bill for both a "late" pickup and the late-night treat that I had declined. The most concerning issue, however, was my dog's condition when he came home. He was covered in fleas. Prior to his stay, he did not have a flea problem, and he had even been to the vet the day before boarding with no issues noted. Finding him infested immediately after boarding was extremely upsetting. Not only was this uncomfortable for my dog, but it also created a problem in my home that now requires treatment and additional expense. In addition, my dog is normally very high energy, but when he came home he slept the entire first day, which was highly unusual for him and added to my concern about his overall condition after his stay. Between the unexpected charges and the flea issue, this was a very disappointing experience. I would encourage pet owners to carefully review their invoices and thoroughly inspect their pets after pickup.

I had previously had him groomed somewhere else and paid $95 including tip and he didn't look much different than when we dropped him off. He now looks like a schnauzer despite his unusual coloring. I highly recommend Sudzee if you are in the Justin, TX area!
