The employee on duty said they were transitioning to services and away from retail. I haven't signed up for any training there so I cannot rate them for that. Since I went to Pets West to purchase supplies, treats, toys, and chews, I can say it was a huge disappointment. I attended training classes in the past and may again, but I'm skeptical given the recent reviews about boarding and daycare. On the plus side, the two employees were friendly.

They actually care about you and your pets. Making a reservation was super easy, the whole staff is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Before I made the reservation I spoke with Jonelle and she was very nice. While my dogs were there they even sent a couple of updates about how they were without me even asking which I REALLY appreciated as my dogs are truly my babies. We also have a boy who has issues with his ears so we don't touch them and I told them and they listening to my requests about that. They also let my babies room together which was so helpful for me and for them to feel more comfortable. I can't express how much I appreciate them. Contacted the vet office to have #30 for both dogs so I don't run out of one medication 10 days sooner than the other dog. Added shipping costs, etc Tech told me it was a loading dose amount and the script would not be changed to #30. Vet wanted to see if it worked before more were prescribed. (If I want to pay for #10 more tablets so both dogs are on the same medication refill cycle and the medication is not effective, then I spent money I didn't need to spend.) Tech also said that the Zenrelia did not come in a quantity of #30 for the 15 mg. I have no problem finding #30 of the 15 mg with a google search. I was hesitant after reading these yelp reviews but I also refused to…read morego to Banfield after a friend's horror story of a puppy she had for a week :( I called ahead of time to find out if they could give my puppy some vaccines so she could go to doggy daycare. The lady on the phone was so helpful and patient with my millions of questions as this is my first dog ever. She was very upfront about the costs and packages that were cost effective as opposed to paying for individual vaccines. She was able to set me up with an appointment that same day even though I was prepared to wait a few days for an opening. Fast forward. I showed up and was welcomed with huge smiles. The lobby was super clean. I was immediately showed to a waiting room so I could fill out some paperwork without my pup being all over the place. The waiting rooms were also super clean :) While handing in the paperwork, some of the staff came out to meet her and gave her so many compliments. It made me feel good as a first time dog mom. This was my pup's real first time in public and dealing with people other than me. Each person gave me amazing advice and even some samples for my pup to try to make training a bit easier. I went back to the room to wait for our tech. We probably waited for 5 minutes or less. She was so nice and very attentive. She listened to our needs since my pup needed specific vaccines. I was super nervous. I myself hate going to the doctor but she made it so easy. They took my pup to the back to do her exam and then came back to verify what the doctor said she could have as far as vaccines. Again, she was swooped away to the back. I could hear the staff aweing over her. I was so happy my pup wasn't whining or scared. When she was brought back to me, I couldn't even tell that she had a bunch of vaccines. She took it like a champ. The doctor came and spoke to me briefly while my pup was getting her nails trimmed as a courtesy. He was very straight to the point and gave me some knowledge. Finally, I went to check out. The costs were a bit overwhelming but I was prepared from the initial phone conversation. They were kind enough to give me quotes for future procedures that I asked for. I got some additional appointments set up as well and we were done with our visit. I love that this place is 10 minutes from my house. It limits my pup getting car sick. Their hospitality is EVERYTHING! I almost want them to have a human clinic because I was so comfortable ;)

However, upon a second visit with my Yorkies I can truly say I will never return again. After I picked up my dogs, I noticed the workers were acting a bit "off" when I picked up my dogs, I never paid it any attention until a couple days later I noticed my Yorkies eye swollen and crusted on her cheek. I went to scrub the "crust" off and after cleaning it I discovered a huge hole in her cheek, that crust was a scab covering an obvious slice from either scissors or clippers. It was the size of a dime and starting to become infected. If the workers simply told me upon pickup that she was injured I would have been able to care for her properly, however now it's too late for that and my poor dog has a scar on her cheek with possibly no new hair growth surrounding that area. Please do not take your babies here.

Simply put, it was the best experience we have had in over 20 years of sending our pups to a kennel! This is so much more than a kennel.... The setting itself sets WDR apart from the competition: it's a residential setting with a large acreage for the dogs to roam and play in, large indoor/outdoor kennels spread out over a few outbuildings on the property (they also have an indoor setting for smaller breeds that looks really nice, but we didn't use)....Our dog, like many, tends to resist bring dropped off at kennels, the vet, etc., but he welcomed his visit there and really bonded with the owner, Kelli, who's caring, professional and honest with customers. She's also very flexible on Custom drop off and pickup times, and care requirements for your pup. You get daily updates/pix of your animals, too! We are certain that Shadow was well cared for at Weatherford Dog Ranch, and, in fact, we're boarding him there again in a few weeks. Check out the happy look on his face during his time there)
