It was a long day due to elevator problems on both ends of my move, but these guys were troopers! Really, it was a stressful day, but they had my back. I booked well in advance and was thanked for that! They called to confirm several days out, and called back when they couldn't GPS my new location... it was too new. We worked that out. They showed up right on time and worked hard. Because of the issues of living on the 3rd floor (both places) and lack of cooperation from the buildings...actually in one case it was other movers who caused the issue...they worked from 9 to 6 without complaining. Last time I moved it was 2 and 1/2 men, and they weren't friendly, wasted plenty of time, and overcharged me. As long and hard as this move was, it was cheaper than that!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We scheduled the moving date months in advance and confirmed the address the week prior. The day of moving, we were waiting for the arrival of the truck OUTSIDE of the home 1hr before the 30-min arrival window and for 4 hours after the arrival window. The help line lady, said the truck arrived, knocked on the door, tried to call us and did not receive an answer, thus clocking out... TOTAL LIE! The help line lady, Stephanie was rude, did not apologize and blamed us for this issue. I am ECSTATIC. My husband and I were so nervous we couldn't get anyone to help us move a MANUAL treadmill down to our finished basement. They helped us move an Assault Elite manual treadmill, which is NOT easy to do. I was blown away by Talt & Charles' ability to get that thing in our basement. I am forever grateful. Since they have a 2 hour minimum, I did take advantage and asked them to move a standalone bar, a small children's desk and a microwave, up out of the basement, in to our garage for disposal. Please don't book with them. I didn't receive a confirmation call prior to the scheduled appointment. Keep in mind I scheduled this over a month in advance. I called them the day before to confirm that it was still scheduled which the receptionist said it was. The day of the move the movers came and said they would need another person so it would be faster and it would be 15 min. I said it was fine, they left and I didn't hear anything for 2.5 hours. I called the receptionist and they stated that they should have been there by now and she would call to see what I was going on and get back with me. I asked if I could receive some sort of compensation/ discount for the wait and she said she would check with the owner. She didn't call back after a half hour and I called again. They said they weren't able to reach the movers but were still trying and the owner wasn't offering a discount. I am amazed how great my move went thank to my movers from Hercules. Both movers showed up at the correct time and got to work right away. There were some issues with wire in the driveway so they had to street park but the extra steps didn't stop them. They were worked so hard and I was amazed they were able to get some of my bigger pieces so effortlessly. They were polite and hard workers. I used Hercules Moving and Storage for the third time in July, 2020. My previous moves were in 2007 and 2013 and my previous review is on Yelp. this time around was another great experience. Russell and the two other men who were him moved us from an apartment on the second and third floor of a two family house to a single floor residence. The day was 95 degrees and the heat index was well over 100. They showed up right on time, were unfailingly polite, not a single curse word about the heat, the steep stairs, the parking. Everything was handled with care. They took apart my bed and put it back together and even tightened the legs on my dining room chairs. There was no issue with heavy items. All three worked unceasingly. At the end of the day I signed the paperwork and they started walking out, not even waiting expectantly for a tip. I had to stop them to tip before they left. I recommend Hercules to anyone in Cincinnati. read more

They called us 20 minutes before their expected arrival (9am) and said they can't do our job until the afternoon. No one would call us and we had to keep calling to get a status update. We called at 1pm and 3pm. Finally their offices stopped answering their phone and passed us off to the movers themselves. The mover said they wouldn't be out until after 6pm. We had to end up scrambling and renting a uhaul to do it ourselves. I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

The company damaged my home, furniture, mislabeled boxes, were late, over charges for time spent packing, loading and unloading, me and friends had to help, fine jewelry was dropped loose in boxes, heavy boxes were all left upstairs for me to carry into the basement and after they charged my credit card I get no responses!!! Cancelled on our move 10 minutes before scheduled arrival time. We had the appointment booked months in advance of the move date. Were told they would call us back to let us if additional moving staff were to become available and they never followed up. Everything was marked and they still took furniture to the wrong place, leaving me without even a chair to sit on at the new location. Would not follow instructions on how to treat my valuables. I worked harder than one of the guys. They said everything would fit into my storage unit. Then, they said it wouldn't. I was left scrambling to find something last minute and on a weekend. I have used Hercules Moving and Storage 5 times since 2011; 3 times for myself, 1 time for my mother and another time, my fiancée. They show up on time and are extremely polite and professional. I specifically have asked for Russell the last 3 times. His customer-service skills are the best! He's kind, polite and has a "can-do" attitude from start to finish. In June, he and Eric moved both my fiancée and I from our respective residences into a condo in Sycamore Township following our marriage. I had a piece of furniture (a heavy, 100 year old corner cabinet) that Russell worked and worked to get it into a tight space that appeared impossible at first glance. Horrible customer service. Do not use. I booked them to move from downtown apartment. They came and could not find where to park their truck, told me to look for parking and call when I have it. Meanwhile they were going to charge their full hourly rate. When I nicely tried to at least negotiate the rate down, I got a call from the owner who was very rude to me and was chewing me out for not reserving the spot for the truck. While all this happening their competitor company had no issue setting up some yellow cones on the same street and moving my neighbor. Well buying a new house should be a joyous experience. Hercules movers has ruined this new experience for me. I had two movers show up at my apartment. Neither of the gentlemen introduced them self's. One gentleman made some rude remarks to me and even worse to my mother which upset me. I made a call to there office. They seemed to have called there crew and they confronted us about it and were still extremely rude and still did not learn either of there names. At some point they decided they would trade out with another crew. Which means they had to unload there truck so the next crew could load it in there truck . long story short there wasn't another crew. So my belongs were laying in the lawn. I had to call tge office to make them load it up back in my apartment but I am now on holiday weekend without movers and work week quickly approaching. Stay away! read more

The physical move went as described in the company's services description, but: An item went missing (theft or lost on the truck?) during the move and the owner was indifferent in addressing this issue with me. The missing item was immediately brought to the attention of the front office staff, and subsequently to the owner, who requested i fill out his insurance claim form to resolve the matter. This suggested to me he would follow his company's 'normal process' of resolving a lost/missing item. Over 4 weeks later, and after 14 requests to the front office to speak with the owner, the owner denies responsibility for the missing item and did not use the form he requested i submit, telling me he is not going to follow through with his 'normal process' of submitting/resolving a claim, and therefore ending the missing item claim with no resolution. I provided a detailed description of the missing item, have filed a police report to officially report the item as missing, have given Mr. Hirth ample opportunity to resolve the matter, and have followed the company's process of both submitting a claim form (as requested by Mr. Hirth on 27 Jan/16) and asking for a 'Presentation of Loss' Form, in accordance with the company's 'Advice of Coverage' contract. All my efforts to follow his instructions have ultimately been dismissed (after 30+ days of avoiding me). The company is questionable in its handling of property and handling follow-up to any issues raised. Based on: * a missing item (either theft or lost on the truck; it is a fact the item valued at ~$600 was in my possession before the move, and not in my possession after the move) * the owner beginning a process to resolve the issue and then not following through with his own normal process * multiple attempts to speak with the owner (Mr. Ron Hirth) going unanswered (14 phone calls over 30 days) * when i asked Mr. HIrth why it has taken 30+ days and 14 calls to his front office to get a call back from him, his response was simply that he was busy, and out town I would not recommend this company and have filed a formal complaint in the appropriate venue. read more

The move seemed to be going well and we were pleased with how efficiently they were loading the two 16 PODS that would be moved to Florida. As they were moving a large desk into the last POD they damaged it and wrote up an acknowledgement on the bill. We called after unloading the item in Florida as instructed and they agreed to pay us $50 for the damage which was acceptable. That's where the "good" stops. When they were loading the PODs there was a stack of smaller plastic boxes that were taped closed and placed in one location that they were told they could use as filler in drawers and shelves. After the PODs were loaded and the movers were gone, I realized they had packed a similar box that had been sitting on the bathroom sink containing day-to-day items we were keeping. I had also placed several pieces of jewelry in the box because we had already shrink wrapped my jewelry box for moving in the car and my fingers were swelling from the lifting. I assumed it was an accident and even told people when I relayed the story, that I felt fully comfortable that when we unloaded, the rings would be there. My husband found the box in the POD while unloading and the rings were not in it. I tore every box apart looking 2 and 3 times for the rings because I just couldn't believe they were gone and that I had been so wrong and gullible. I spent two weeks trying to get the owner, Ron, to call me before finally putting in writing about the missing jewelry. I just wanted to talk to him before filing the police report that would be needed for insurance. Trying to be open and upfront. He never returned my requests for a call so I told him about the rings via email. Of course he was offended and said there was no proof his men removed the jewelry from the box prior loading - and he's right. They were just the last ones to touch the box and that would have to be noted when I made the police report. Ron never once called me to discuss our concerns. He said I would have to sign a document to get the $50 but it was a document about a "compromise of a doubtful and disputed claim" (which the desk was not because they acknowledged in writing that they had caused the damage) which basically stated that I would "refrain from making any derogatory reviews of Hercules Moving & Storage, Inc. via any media". It's not worth $50 for me to not be able to give an honest review of their service. read more

I have used Hercules in the past for a few moves. This will be my last move with them, since like many others their job performance was poor, I was overcharged, and they damaged my furniture. I will never use them again. The owner promised great service, told me my furniture would be in climate controlled conditions, and that Hercules was known as a specialist when it came to moving and caring for antiques. The owner also said his storage was very safe and secure. I agreed to have them put my furniture in their storage. When the movers finally arrived, they complained about the hot conditions in the warehouse and spoke of the break-ins which they had there, so I was immediately concerned. They took 6 hours to get to my house for the delivery from their reported starting time. I called their office twice due to lateness. The person at the office said she would try to contact them by cellphone. I was never called back, so I called again. They finally arrived. They kept hinting about getting tips, took frequent smoke breaks, damaged my brand new house by banging my furniture into the front door frame, ceiling, and scratching the wood floor. I was initially given an estimate. At the end of the move, I was given paperwork to sign and the mover covered up the billing section, so I was only allowed to see my signature section. Immediately that alerted me that something was wrong. I asked the mover to uncover what he was covering. The move was over 3 times what I was quoted! I protested that this was way beyond the quoted price. The mover said I had to sign the paperwork. He never let go of the clipboard and they refused to leave unless I signed the paperwork. I signed it like I was told to do then wrote my comments about the fact that it took them 6 hours to load up and get to my house, and I was billed for way beyond the quote. Then the mover refused to give me a copy of the paperwork, so I took a picture of it with my cellphone. Also, I never knew there was a back side to the paperwork because the mover NEVER let go of the clipboard which it was on. There were several pieces of furniture which were damaged including my dining room chairs. The owner tried to push it off and refused to make any kind of compensation to me. It took my husband to threaten legal action for the owner to get me an insurance claim form. After insurance inspection, Hercules offered $100 off. We filed a small claims case. The insurance claim representative has been increasing the amount offered, but we have not settled. read more

I wish I could give this company a negative rating! Stay away from them. I hired them to move me on November 29, 2011. I had lots of totes packed with my possessions & they were all clearly labeled as to contents & which floor or room they were to go. The movers completely ignored the labels & it has taken me over a month to unpack the boxes & carry things upstairs that were left downstairs & upstairs to downstairs. Lots of breakage & lids to many totes were cracked. In addition, a drawer to a chest was damaged & I have been waiting for about a month to have that fixed. (Needless to say, no one called to give me an update.) They reassembled a bookcase (wall to wall & floor to ceiling) incorrectly & it now sways from side to side. I am going to have to get rid of it because it would be fatal to my dogs or me if it should fall over. Also, when I unrolled a carpet that had been in front of another bookcase, I discovered a large crack at the base. Finally, I discovered that my IPhone was missing. I had just bought a new one & was going to sell the old one online for $65.00. I had put it in a stackable plastic drawer with the box from my new phone, & a charger cord. All have disappeared. Obviously, I cannot prove that one of the movers stole it, but no one else has been here since the move. I didn't steal it from myself & it didn't grow legs & walk off. I was very nice to these guys. I went out & bought them soft drinks from McDonald's & even gave them a $100.00 tip! I have complained to the owner & his indifference is almost as galling as the damages I have suffered. Should be ZERO stars. They sneak a clause into their "Moving Contract" stating that if they loose your valuables, they only owe you $0.60/lb. So if they "loose" your 10lb bag of diamonds, they "owe" you $6. This is a massive conflict of interest and moral hazard, and what do you know, they actually use it rob people, as they robbed me. They "lost" about $4,000 worth of sports gear, and offered me $18 compensation. Also, they pulled a "bait-&-switch" on the original move estimate. Once I had everything packed into boxes and they showed up with the truck, then they nearly doubled the quote, and I either had to unpack everything and delay the move while looking for a more reputable mover, or "agree" to their nearly doubled rate over what they quoted when I sent them the inventory list. Lesson learned. When a company pulls a bait-&-switch, get rid of them before they proceed to rob you even more. These folks are a gang of thieves. I used Hercules Moving on March 28, 2018. We were moving from a single family home to two apartments in the same apartment complex. All was well, as the movers were quick and very nice. The day after the move, Russ from Hercules called me and said they had accidentally left a tote on their truck. He said for me to call him about dropping off the tote. I have called at least 6 times and emailed the owner once over the last four months to set a time for the delivery. I have had NO response whatsoever from anyone at Hercules. Nothing. I have moved several times with work throughout my career and this is one of the best moving experiences I've had. I had some large pieces to fit through some small doorways that lead to some really complicated maneuvers. It made me sweat just watching and they did it without any damage. The two men had a system to call out stairs, communicate what type of hold they were using, etc. I've never seen that kind of discipline with movers and their work ethic was impressive. We paid hourly and the guys only stopped working once to use the restroom before taking off on the drive. They drove my stuff to two locations (2 hours away, unloaded, then drove another 1.5 hours, and unloaded). I offered to buy them lunch but they wanted to keep on the schedule so that I wouldn't get charged more. I've never cared to remember the name of a moving company but I am going to use Hercules again because they were outstanding. read more

The driver arrived seemingly with a short fuse and chip on shoulder. When I described new location to help him decide how to situate truck, he acted as if I were invisible. When my neighbors could barely get by truck, he quipped "its fine", and when I told him they were complaining, he refused to move the truck so they could get by. Toom about an hour for them to empty my place, and when he saw the boxes in garage, he got angry. Didnt give me a chance to explain that due to my recent foot surgery, I wasnt sure how much i needed them to do for me. So he immediately called his supervisor, called me rude and he wasnt going to finish the job. And he took everything off the truck. All he had left to do was 3 small pieces in the garage, and some boxes. He was rude and nasty to me, and left me in a very bad situation with moving everything planned for today, left me with no place to sleep, everything is packed so have to wear same clothes, csnt brush my teeth, everything turned off, etc. All because he didnt want to move boxes. Somehow I mistakenly assumed moving things was part of his job description. He told me he has been doing this for 20 years and he has never met anyone as rude as me. I am STUNNED at how badly I was treated. Seriously, it would have taken the 2 guys 20 min to finish. I am just shocked. Now I have had to find different movers and cross my fingers they are available tomorrow. Of course this was an afternoon appt, so.when this happened no one had a crew available same day. Let me start off by saying I have never written a review online about anyone, but I strongly feel that people need to know what horrible business practices this company uses. From start to finish, Hercules was nothing but a nightmare to work with. The staff is unorganized, rude, and not helpful. After many miscommunications (which were all documented via email), my furniture upon arrival was scratched, gauged, and missing its hardware when i received it from storage. The movers showed up smoking cigarettes, and when I was given my bill (which was way higher than the set price I was quoted) one of the movers said "unless you want to tip us." I called the next day to tell them I was missing hardware, and if they would look in the truck or the storage unit, and the woman i talked to said she would ask the movers and call me back. She never called back. I called again the next day and talked to the same woman, and she said "oh yea, it wasn't on the furniture when it came in." Which is a bold faced lie. Ive used many moving companies in or around Cincinnati, and this is by far the worst company Ive ever dealt with.
