I had absolutely no idea what to expect when my dear friend/brother Giuseppe and his son told me to be at Hercules Churrasqueria at 7:30 pm precisely 9 hours before I was supposed to get to LaGuardia airport pre dawn. Wow! Amazing! Mind blowing! Seriously delicious! Beautiful seasoning! Everything from A to Z- from the entry where the beautiful flowers and decor were going up for Halloween and the fall to the warm welcome from the very sweet owner Nelson and his stellar team to the extraordinary food- each item better than the last to the very attentive and love love love in the service - was spectacular!! I felt like Hercules after - great food, real food, quality fare, energizing, filling and so tasty. The 6 of us ordered a ton I mean a mega ton of food! The garlic shrimp was to die for. The sauce was just so good. The meats per the guys were marinated, cooked to perfection.( photos). Our server Rosie was fun and took great care of all of us. The sangria kept coming. Before we realized, it had been a 150 minutes of an authentic Portuguese & El Salvadoran feast right here on Hempstead Tpke in West Hempstead. I have been to Fogo de Chao and other steakhouses. Mannn this was one of the worst dining experiences Ive had. Waited about 2 hours at the table and decided to leave bc i couldn't wait no more. We were a party of 4 and bigger parties that arrived and ordered after us got their food before we did. Let me also add, they brought us the wrong food several times while we were waiting for our actual food. They even brought over someone else's appetizers. Also, we had to chase down the waiter constantly for water and other drinks. There was no transparency on what happened with our food exactly but I think he forgot to put in the order or something. This place was also type janky, the floors were slippery and not much of an atmosphere honestly. I'm good on this place. I was never going to come but here but my mom wanted to check it out since it was the new spot in town and I'm mad we did. I'm an understanding person but this was complete nonsense and frustrating for my family read more

I had such a great experience at Hercules Churrasqueria! The owner is incredibly friendly and really makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The staff is just as kind and attentive, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is smooth and efficient, and the food absolutely delicious! Was reading a bad experience for at least 2 people, so sorried to read, I would hope your experience was as pleasant as mine. Every dish is full of flavor and clearly made with care. This is for the Bay Shore location. Got the all you can eat meat carving deal. All the meat was super fatty, chewy beyond reason and poorly cooked. Like burnt outside and raw inside. they kept bringing the sausage and chicken legs and turkey (wrapped in under cooked bacon!). I actually had to ask for the other stuff like the skirt and the sirloin multiple times before it came and they were also fatty and chewy. The skirt was almost raw. The beef chunks (of what cut who knows) were just grizzles and literally unchewable, the pork chunks dry as hell and unedible too. They also don't have any of the better cuts for the all you can eat. They didn't even have a fillet on the menu and its a steak place? We were there 2 and a half hours! Waiting for the skewer guy was ridiculous, they took forever to come out and forever between different cuts. Oh I asked 3 times for a steak knife and never got it. My daughter ordered apple juice but didn't get it because they couldn't find it? My soda came with no ice? They dropped a big slice of meat on the floor next to me and no one bothered to pick it up. I almost fell when I slipped on it getting up to leave. Not a fan of the ipad menus as they were filthy. I get that we touch menus but this requires constant tapping and scrolling basically shaking hands with the whole world right before I am going to eat. Not to mention the maitre de coming up to shake my hand and say hello right as my apps came. Hey restaurant people stop shaking the hands of your customers who are about to eat!! There was also one set of tongs that traveled with the skewer guy that they handed you to ake you meat. Again shaking hands with the whole restaurant. Gross. The mens room was filthy and they also happen to be storing a big metal handicapped parking sign that looks like it fell of a pole in the parking lot too, just leaning on the wall. And the prices? WAYYYY too high for what it is. Peter Luger prices at sub Outback quality. 33 dollars for a shrimp app? 25 for a bowl of lobster bisque? My wife had two fried eggs on an unidentifiable piece of meat and half a sliced fried potato for 40 bucks! Oh and everything was way under seasoned. Do I mention the pork and turkey were sahara dessert dry? When the host came to ask how it was I let him know how crappy the meat was and how they were only coming with the turkey chicken and sausauge over and over but , didn't mention much else. He took a pic of my plate, showed the other host? maybe owner? Then asked the table next to me the same question and the woman actually said I agree with him and pointed to me. Side were awful, tasteless beans, collard greens as a standard? bland rice. All in all a huge waste of money. Not to mention the suggested tip was based on the total plus tax! Also it's not the standard restaurant receipt with the lines for the tip etc. It only had check boxes for the suggested tips starting at 18%. the word custom tip was there but it was unclear how or where to write it. I doubt that is by accident. I just circled that and gave my standard 15%. Service wasn't the worst but wasn't great either. Never did get that steak knife.... It's also very crowded furniture wise. There are too many tables and the seat backs from one side to the other are so close when walking down the aisle you have to twist and turn to avoid bumping peoples chairs. If they don't make some changed they will be gone just like BBD who they replaced. What makes it worse is they didn't even offer any remediation for thier bad food. I wasn't looking for a free meal or anything but usually when you give them the feedback they asked for and it isn't positive (and you have a plate full of grizzle and un eaten fatty poorly cooked meat they actually photographed and the table next to you felt the same and said so) you would think they would offer a coffee or to take your sodas off the tab or something, anything to persuade you to give them another shot, not here. Just an "ok thanks for the feedback" I see no reason to return. read more

Wow. What a disappointment. The food is wayyy overpriced. To pay $50 dollars for a piece of stake that looks like a lamp chop is absurd. The only item that tasted ok was french fries. They don't even have stake sauces. What a joke. If you want better stakes and more for your money, go to Sabor a Colombia. (700 Hempstead tpke.) That is 2min away from this place. My wife and I love this place. From the time we enter the manager and staff always welcome us with open arms. They are also very sweet to our one year old son and make us feel at home. The place is clean and cozy. As we are seated and prepare to order our dinner, the waiters (yes waiters) serve hot bread and a nice house salad. The staff works together and there is great team work. The manager also comes and checks on us from time to time. Now, back to the food. We love to order their skirt steak and sirloin it's our favorite. I recently had their ribs which is so delicious (see pic). They also have some great deserts for the sweet tooth in you. Lastly, I couldn't complete this post without shouting out their house sangria which is just right! We look forward to going back next time and trying out their other dishes. Food was wonderful. The staff was wonderful. We ordered the skirt steak, the pork ribs, turkey bacon, and the whole chicken, everything was pretty delicious, and cooked really well ( full of flavor). The beans and tostones that came with our order were a fantastic addition. We shared the tres leches and the flan. Both were ON POINT, not overly sweet and perfect texture (this is coming from someone who is very picky about her Hispanic desserts). The place wasn't very busy which is surprising because the food is pretty good. Dont let the name fool you, this Peruvian restaurant is worth a try. read more

I would rate 0 if I could, the steak was not seasoned at all the veggies were cold, nothing tasted good at all the fat parts on my steak were horrible and there was something hard in my steak they undercooked my steak to rare when I asked for medium rare and it was so bad I threw up in the bathroom and over expensive for no reason. 4.50$ for 1 SLICE OF BACON?! What's the reason?! Also a man was just sitting in the corner blasting his phone at max volume and I assume he's the owner when this kind man asked him to lower it. 5 minutes later it was blasting again at max!
