In town for work and found this place online. What a great local gem. The much was super fresh and delicious! I had the homemade egg salad sandwich and my boss had the farm salad. The bread was so fresh and everything was served quickly! Just perfect. read more

I saw the reviews and figured let's give it a try. I had an egg over easy, whole wheat toast, bacon and home fries. Egg perfectly cooked. Sometimes the easiest is the hardest. The toast and home fries were so crisp and not greasy. The bacon could have been crispier. I should have specified. My husband's stuffed French toast was best I ever tasted. FRESH PEACHES. I never order this at a restaurant because it tends to be overly sweet. It was unbelievable. The waitress was a doll, so warm and friendly. I wish I lived closer.... but then again I might eat pie for breakfast. read more

This place is amazing for two solid reasons...the food is fresh and delicious (they even accommodated my casein/dairy allergy) AND the staff is super friendly and attentive. We were at the Norwich spa and looked up on yelp for a local favorite. What a great experience. Then we went next door to the market and met Herb and family. Such great down to earth ppl. Don't miss out on Herbs if you are in the area! I had the California omelette and my friend had their take on a western omelette on a croissant, both were amazing! read more

My significant other and I take a yearly vacation to the Foxwood region, and now Herb's has become the highlight to our trip. We just concluded our second visit to this fine establishment and left with full bellies and big smiles. Now I will give a disclaimer: we are food people and research different places to try (which is how we found herbs). The waitstaff: cheerful, happy, accommodating and courteous. They treat you like family. The environment has a homely feel and you can tell the staff knows all the locals. The food: this is not a place you go and have a cheese omelet. Trust in their specials, the combinations they concoct are genius. This trip we ordered 4 different dishes: a skillet bowl with this sausage gravy that makes you feel like you were in heaven, an omelet that had chili and jalapeño cheddar that had a perfect kick, pastrami hash that once you bit into you had an outer body experience and then there is the strawberry and almond French toast... I can't put this dish into words. But wow. read more

This is my new favorite breakfast place! Everything from the food, server, and most importantly, the coffee was AMAZING. I had their special, which was pumpkin cranberry french toast with pastrami hash on the side. It was to die for! Ellen, our waitress was very friendly and we actually got to meet the owner, Herb! No wonder why they have been in business for over 40 years! They have a great thing going! We hope to visit again soon! read more

Comfy, homey wholesome good clean food! A classic. I will always come here when visiting the Mohegan Sun Casino!

Came here today. First thing I noticed coming in the door was a sign advertising for a cook. Should have taken heed. Waited on by three different waitresses. None of them bothered to smile and evidence a pleasant personality. It took forever to get a simple breakfast of eggs over medium with bacon and half an order of home fries. This is with only two other couples in the restaurant. By forever I mean 20-25 minutes. The eggs were cooked to order as was the bacon. Should have skipped the home fries. They certainly weren't fresh potatoes, rather hardened little cubes of day old potatoes which were not appetizing at all. By that I mean totally tasteless. My wife and I are from the area, not tourists from out of town looking to drop a little misery on the locals. We decided to skip our regular haunts because of the good reviews we read in Yelp. It was a mistake we won't repeat. read more

Excellent classic breakfast! Waitresses are the friendliest in town. We came three mornings in a row!

Amazing food and great service and all at a good price! Definitely recommend! My fiancé and I came here for breakfast and he got the baked blueberry French toast and i got a breakfast sandwich with a side of pancakes. Everything was amazing and came quick. We will both be coming back soon! read more

The service was outstanding and I loved the sweet potato hash! There were a lot of specials so it was difficult to decide.

Come here for breakfast. Great atmosphere! Local diner-all American eats. They sell homemade pies at the register and they've been around for a while. Definitely worth it! read more

What a treat! Huge breakfast menu, fast and friendly service! The pastrami hash was mouth watering... I ordered one of their breakfast specials, the Pot Roast omelet. The pot roast was so moist and full of flavor, better than even mom makes! The have and sell an excellent hot sauce that comes in smoked and sweet flavors. Not for the faint of heart, it's got that good heat. Their homemade pie selection was impressive and extremely tempting, but their portions are so big, I didn't have any room left! My new "go-to" breakfast spot, and I live in Canterbury!!! SO WORTH the ride! read more

Herb's Country Deli & Restaurant - Delis Near Me - Uncasville, Connecticut

I wanted to love this place. I really did. The quaint, farm-town feel inside makes this an ideal breakfast spot for locals. But my meal portion was SO small. I got the healthy start and I was really excited for it. When my meal came out, I thought it was just me and that my eyes were deceiving me until my boyfriend said, "is that going to be enough food for you?" The three eggs that came scrambled did not look like three eggs at all. I was very disappointed. Maybe it's because I got something with "healthy" in the title that included smaller portions? I'm not sure. I'm willing to give this place another shot at some point. And maybe come prepared with an additional snack or two. read more

We stopped in after a night at Mohegan Sun. We sat at the bar. The service was incredible, good great, and great service...I already said that. Felt like a little neighborhood family place. Can't wait to go back again!!! read more

I came here on a Saturday morning and was immediately relieved that the restaurant wasn't full during this typically busy time for breakfast/brunch. I ordered eggs, toast, home fries, and a side of corned beef hash. I was getting hangry (hungry + angry, for those of you who don't know) as I waited a whole hour for what I thought was simple breakfast food! The food was good, though not letmewaitawholehour good. I would like to maybe go back and try some of their lunch options. read more

The wife and I were so excited to check out this highly rated local spot for breakfast. All started well when we called ahead and they put a table aside for us so we skipped the long line of people waiting. But then we ordered. And waited. And waited. And waited. Over 50 minutes before of admittedly decent food (blueberry pancakes, kielbasa omelette, hash) came. Without a word from a waitress the whole time. Unreal. Never going back. I am sure on a not busy weekday morning it would be a better experience. UPDATE - OK so I was a bit harsh on the wait time. I knew it was really busy - prime time on a holiday - but it was really the fact that not one person mentioned anything about how long it had been the whole time we were waiting that really bothered me. Or when our food came. I actually thought our food may have been forgotten. We were so hungry we would have loved just our toast ahead of time if that would have been feasible. We absolutely appreciated the reserved table, and I did note that in my initial review. And I also noted that the food was tasty - especially the hash - but for me at the time of my review I was just so overwhelmed by how long it took without anyone saying anything. The interesting thing is that it is actually a place I would typically like (local, family-owned, etc), and I did appreciate the chat as I paid on the way out the door. I have amended my rating because 1 star really is not fair. I certainly wish the business the best of luck. read more
