Sunday nights with Venus Cruz

One of the oldest venues in all of Denver and a true patron of music, Herb's is a downtown landmark. If you're looking for music any night of the week, get down here to shake your boogie thing! Plus, most every night is NO COVER. The prices are reasonable and space, with the wonderful patio area in back, is better than "Denver cozy." Musician-owned, the quality of talent she brings to the stage is all the Denver local legends. From Jazz to funk to blues and R & B, if you like instrument-driven tunes with full-body sound, keep the calendar under your "saved tabs." You won't be disappointed. Most shows start at 9:30.

Live Music Every Night and Drinks That Hit Just Right!!! Are you into live, local music seven nights a week? Do you love stiff drinks served up by a quick, friendly staff? Ready to make some new friends? Then Herb's Hideout is a place you absolutely *must* check out. I've heard plenty of good things about Herb's over the years, but wow, they didn't even scratch the surface. You can swing by any night of the week and have just as much fun as the night before. Weekends bring larger shows and bigger crowds, but the vibe stays consistently welcoming and lively. Having recently moved to the LoDo area, I've been soaking in the eclectic, mixed energy of the neighborhood--it's the perfect balance of locals and just enough tourists to keep things interesting. And let me just say, Brenton behind the bar? That man's got it all: kindness, charm, and let's be honest, a little bit of heat. His gentlemanly attitude and attentive service take the experience up a notch. He is certainly the person you want slinging your drinks. For someone who misses the music-everywhere-all-the-time vibe of Austin, and an LA Native, Herb's Hideout feels like a slice of home. It's the kind of place where strangers become friends and the music makes every night feel special. Herb's provides that nostalgic energy without ever making you feel out of place. CHECK HIM OUT!

Herb's is a great place to hear live jazz music on any night of the week. There is no cover charge, a full bar, smoking patio, and attentive bartenders. If your in the area and looking for a chill place, you should go to Herb's.

Likely one of the least pretentious places to get a drink and see some live music in the downtown area.

Cheap drinks, ridiculous music, and great environment. Get down, or get on up, whichever you prefer.

We've been wanting to check out this bar for quite a while. I can't count the number of times we…read morehave driven past it and been so curious to see what it was like inside. We finally decided to give it a try last week and we were not disappointed! It definitely has that charming dive bar scene and is super spacious inside. There is bar seating, tons of high top tables, booths and even outdoor seating. They have a photo booth, pool tables, and a cute duck claw machine. The prices were great at very reasonable prices. I also loved the sense of community there. You could tell there were regulars and the bar tenders were so friendly and funny. It felt like a very welcoming spot and we loved all the Halloween decorations they set up throughout the bar. We shall definitely be returning!

That was expected because of the holiday. Another line for drinks inside, but also went by quickly. We snagged a booth and stayed a while. We had a decent time and I'm glad we made the stop. Would visit again, but not needing to. Would love yo see the vibe on a non-Holiday night. Very divey but also spacious. There's also a small smoking area/patio.

This bar is a whole vibe. From the boat inside (complete…read morewith life preservers), to the cornhole outside, pool tables, foosball, and ping pong, if you're bored, it's your own darn fault. They also have touch tunes so you can decide what you want to listen to. Plenty of seating, inside and outside. Drink specials, including shots, and a shot ski, this feels like a local bar you would find in a warmer location. You order your drinks at the bar, then go sit wherever you like. It's nice to find somewhere in Denver, that has good alcohol (they're not serving Gordon's vodka), at very reasonable prices. Bartender was friendly, and mixes a good, stiff drink. I chose a throw back to college days - cherry vodka, and coke. Yum! We will absolutely be back!

1 STAR -- DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR FROM STAFF. NEVER AGAIN…read more What should have been a fun night celebrating my birthday turned into an absolutely unacceptable experience. While I was trying to order drinks, a girl next to me repeatedly pushed and shoved me. Instead of handling the situation appropriately, I ended up being kicked out. It seemed as though the bartender knew the girl causing issues and allowed this to happen rather than intervening normally. As I was leaving, the bartender covered in tattoos sarcastically said, "Happy birthday, bitch." Yes, those were his actual words. Imagine being so unprofessional and disrespectful that you speak to a customer that way, especially on their birthday. Even more concerning, my sister and friend were physically assaulted by a bouncer wearing a plaid shirt. The situation was a complete mess, and we have reported the incident to the police. We brought a group of over 20 people to this bar and this is how we were treated. There is absolutely no excuse for staff to behave this way. The lack of professionalism and basic respect was appalling. We play volleyball across the street every week, so we are regularly in the area. We will be sharing our experience with our teammates, friends, and everyone we know. We will NEVER return, and I would strongly encourage others to reconsider spending their money here. The Dive Inn has permanently lost our entire group as customers.
