I am having what must be the longest, most ridiculously infuriating experience with Progressive Insurance and somehow one silver lining prevails: Heppner's Auto Body. Heppner's does direct repair for Progressive making it the perfect local option for me after a neighbor rammed into my parked vehicle. I submitted a claim, made an appointment and was eventually able to drop my car off (shoutout to Heppner's for hopping on a three way call with the aforementioned villains). Through a tough situation, Heppner's made the process shockingly easy. They kept me in the loop consistently and always kept to the dates they stated they'd call. My vehicle was returned looking brand new inside and out. The checkout process was great. The customer service was great. They truly went above and beyond. We had one small miscommunication and they were extremely apologetic (it really wasn't a big deal). Honestly, Heppner's blew me out of the water with their service and professionalism. I can't say much about value (I filed a claim), but I can say I'm happy to have my car back and I highly recommend Heppner's for repair services! read more

I went in for a quote on my windshield the staff was not friendly downtown Saint Paul , they gave me a card and told me to just call and get a quote over the phone when it could have been done right then . then I proceeded to call the number and no answer I called again the men said it would give me a call but never did so , I feel like they were treating me unfair based of my year and model truck my 07 . a car is a car money should just be money but it's my money is no good here for my first time trying to do things for my truck myself I was let down and felt mistreated thanks for the experience read more

Heppner's did body work on my car in August, first untruthful about how long it would take (3x /longer), then they failed to reconnect a door wire that controls the electronic remote locks. This was discovered by the dealership who ran diagnostics on the car. Though I have electronics insurance coverage, this was not covered by my insurance as it was not a failure of the electronics, but a failure of the body shop to reassemble the car correctly. The cost was $186.00. I went back to Heppner's, on a Thursday with the bill and I was told that I would be reimbursed for the cost. However, the guy at the desk said that he couldn't do anything about it but send it to the "upper levels" for approval on Monday, and once approved, I would be called, a check would be cut and mailed. That was 5 weeks ago. I have called this same counter guy every week for 3 weeks and he said the check was still waiting for approval and I shouldn't bother to call because they would call me when it check was being cut. So on the 4th week, I went down to Heppner's AGAIN. The same counter guy wasn't there at the time, so I asked for someone at a higher level and got the name of the GM. I called him and he said that he's never seen any request for approval and that he'd talk to the desk guy. In calling me back, he said that the desk guy said that "he dropped the ball" on this, it was all on him, and that he would send the request immediately. The GM called me back (on a Monday) and said he hadn't seen it yet, but had already sent an email to approve the reimbursement and I should have the check in about 2 days. So I said, well so I SHOULD have it by Friday and he agreed, that should be plenty of time. Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesdays mail came and NO CHECK. So back on the phone to the GM demanding that I pick up a check that day. Heppner's screwed up the repair timing, causing me to spend way more in a rental car than I had planned, I was lied to several times by this incompetent employee, shoddy work in putting the car back together, and either I was lied to again by the GM, or just like his employees ...he doesn't follow through in what he says he'll do. I got my Jeep repaired by Heppner's Auto Body & Glass In Downtown St. Paul on west 7th street. Wes was my service person. He was great to given me the quote. Once he got the OK that I would have them do the repair, I never once heard from him unless I called him. When I got the Jeep repaired it took 4 extra days to get repaired. Once I got my Jeep back, he just handed me my keys. We did not go together to look at the repairs. When I brought the Jeep back to show him items that did not get repaired properly such as the hood popping up when passing another vehicle on the road, plastic grill not put in properly and side emblems not put on properly I was told by Wes "Your expectations are just too high" and " I will have the GM call you". I have never heard from. I have a friend who repairs vehicles, fixes the hood (just needed to tighten the screws) and fixes the plastic grill (reline them up). As for the rental car that I was told that they would pay for the first 5 days as this is when it was to be ready for me to pick up. They did cover that but did not tell the car rental agency about the extra days until my vehicle would be ready and I was charged on my credit card for this until I went back to Wes to say that you told me that you would be covering the extra days. When I did get my Jeep back it was nice and clean both outside and inside but the Quality of workmanship on the repairs that they do, I would go somewhere else. I the past when I got a vehicle repaired the service person would go out with me to go over the vehicle with me and just run back to their office. I did let my insurance company know about the repair issues and about comments from Wes. They to improve communication with the customer, repair the Jeep back to they way it was before the accident and have proper customer service! read more

Here @ Heppner's, they must understand how frazzled their customers are because they are thee most patient, friendly, and kind people in world! I met with Hue (shout out!) who gave me a quick and pretty dees estimate. I showed up on Monday. Got a call on Thursday. Got the mirror reinstalled on Friday in less than 30 minutes. Two hundred dollars later, I now remember what the world I'm leaving behind looks like once again. So to whomever messed with my car, I thank you. read more

Showed up at 8:30AM to get the glass on my car fixed. I had talked to them the day before. They special ordered my glass for my car and told me it would come in at 8:30 AM. I asked how long it would take, and they said 10 minutes to fix. So I got to the shop at 8:30AM as was told the glass people were not in yet but would be there soon. At about 9:20 they said that they couldn't seem to find my appointment. Apparently, an appointment was not set up the day before, I understood it had. I had even forwarded all my insurance information there. So I got up and left and called Only 1 Auto Glass. They had me in that afternoon and gave me a loaner car so I could get to my appointments that day. Don't go to Heppner's......go there. read more

Heppner's did a great job on the repairs on my Toyota Prius! They were great about providing ongoing communications about the status of my repairs and I went to pick my car up, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had washed the exterior and cleaned out the inside of the car too! There was a delay with one of the parts (outside of their control) so they also covered the costs for the rental car for the extra days that my insurance company would not cover. When it comes to "good business," with me, it's not necessarily how well you do what I came to you with, because a good job is *expected* there - it's the extras...the things I didn't ask you to do. The body work they did is absolutely beautiful...which I expected. The body work that was done on my car was the result of an accident, which the other person's insurance paid for. I didn't pay a dime, therefore Hep's didn't *have* to impress me with any extra frills - I wasn't paying them anything. So, what I didnt expect is the full detailing that they did to my car. I bought my car used, and it looked better when I picked it up from them today (outside AND inside) than it did the day I bought it. They even got the cigarette smoke smell out of my car, after I had tried everything (with no success). I'm their customer for life now. read more

A picture book and a smile. My husband recently got his SUV kissed on both ends in a multi-car pile up. Heppners' put a band-aid on the buggy, gave it a lolly and got it back to our garage in less than a week. They gave us friendly service and allowed me to rifle through the car mid-work week to try to find something we'd misplaced. Upon receiving his car this past week, he also received a little printout with all of the details of damage and exactly what was done to fix it. When I went to some big well known place, I got half the service and the work done was absolute crap. This place is great and we would recommend their work to anyone who needs an assist. read more

I'm giving this "business" one star because there isn't an option for zero, which is what they deserve. They're by far the most incompetent, obtuse, and dull witted collection of auto body "professionals" I have ever had the misfortune to experience. My brand new, (at the time), car was stolen, vandalized and subsequently, brought to this establishment through my insurance company They took every shortcut possible, during the three months that they had my car, on their way to never fixing my sunroof properly, leaving OBVIOUS scratches all over the the paint, losing/stealing my possessions inside the car, returning my car to me with no gas left, calling me on at least two separate occasions telling me my car was ready when it wasn't.... Great customer service, Follow up as well as a quick quote (20 minutes). The price was three times higher here than at two other places but it's right next to enterprise rent a car. So it's convenient. I am getting work done elsewhere. But if money is no object, I would have gotten it done here. read more

I recently had a hit and run accident with my car. My insurance company Progressive recommended these guys, and I had no allegiance to anyone so I ran with it. They are incredibly professional, kind, and economical. They made me feel very confident that they knew what they were doing, and could walk me through the process. I would definitely recommend them. An overall bad experience -- My car isn't done after taking nearly twice as long as the original quote, and they are no longer returning my phone calls. Save yourself the hassle, and just go somewhere else. I was in an accident on July 7th, and I dropped my car off with Heppner's Auto Body in St. Paul the following day on the 8th. The gentleman that has been helping me (Scott Paloma) from the start was very friendly in the beginning when giving me my initial estimate, but any sense of this being a simple, stress-free process ended the second I dropped it off. I initially was told it would take two weeks, but I still have no idea when my car will be ready. At the time of writing this review, it is August 5th -- almost a month later. The initial estimate and drop off process went well. I was filled with false hopes that my car would be done within about two weeks and that Scott would be in contact with me every step along the way. He has not once called me, and he has consistently pushed back the amount of time it will take for me to get my car back anytime I get in contact with him. First, he said two weeks. The next time was three, but then three turned to three and a half. The last time I spoke with him, he said it would be ready today or tomorrow, yet for some reason he hasn't called to let me know when I can pick it up and has avoided my phone calls. So here I am almost a month later writing this review to warn anyone else who is even remotely considering taking their car here. Just don't do it. Go somewhere. You won't regret it. read more

First off, the car got fixed and looks great. That's what they're in business to do, so that part was taken care of. What they're not in the business of is any type of customer service. Manager at Woodbury, MN store, Melissa, should take her rude customer service skills and work in the back somewhere so she doesn't have to encounter anyone at all that might choose to come back the next time they need body work. This was my first time going through this sort of thing, it was awful. But Marilyn at Heppner's Woodbury location, Commons Drive was just the best. She was so calming and attentive and reassuring right from the start. She knew I was 'shaken' a bit, and cold. The first thing she did was bring me coffee!!! Yay! She took all the time I needed for the process, explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. They took my car right in. They would have their person look at it within 24 hours and the same for the insurance agent. They would handle everything. She kept in close contact with me throughout, with up dates on the process. It was great working with her. The estimate was good, and the work was EXCELLENT!! You could not tell my car had ever had any damage, perfect work! I got an estimate and schedule an appt to have work done. The work was estimated to take 2 weeks and I was supposed to have a loaner car for the first 5 days the repairs. The date was set for 3 weeks away. When I brought my car in to have the work done They did not have a reservation for me and I had to wait an hour for someone to bring one in from the airport. My vehicle was not ready when expected and I understood since it wasn't set in stone. However I received an email the following Monday telling me my vehicle would be ready by 4p.m. and when I arranged a ride and went to pick it up It was not ready and I was told the email was a mistake. Was told to it would be ready the following day and part of the hold up was detailing and buffing. Went to pick it up after waiting 45 mins and my car was not detailed at all. not even wiped down or vacuumed. The body work looked good though. It had just been ran thru the wash when they gave it to me because it was wet. But it was not waxed and buffed as would have been impossible because it was still wet. I feel like the communication with them was lacking and the service was sub par. I would never return there and would not recommend this location. read more

My car only has sixteen thousand miles on it and I wanted to have two areas worked on. The car looks better then ever, Thank you so much! If you own a car worth more than $5000 do not bring it here. I own a 2011 WRX and during winter of 2014 I got hit from the rear. I took it in this store to repair it. The person who helped me was Scott, which he stated it will take about a month but really took a month and a half. After the repair I noticed that there were scratches on my rear view glass and the panels were installed poorly. I was pretty upset but I let it slide. 2015, my car was lightly T-boned and both doors on my passenger side needed to be replaced and I wanted to give them a second chance. I brought it in and they replaced the door (took about a week). I recorded my average MPG and miles when I dropped it off. (22.4 MPG) But when I picked it up Scott told me (I was working with him again) I received a free full detail. Once I got into my car and turned it on all my dash lights came on. After that, I looked at my MPG which was now at 18.2 mpg and 21 miles more. So obviously they were speeding in my car which I was pissed at them for that. I went and complained to Scott and he turned off all the dash lights and said "we just turned your car on and off too many times" which was totally BS. Scott also told me he let their new employee drive my car and mentioned he doesn't know how to drive manual! I bet that kid burned the hell out of my clutch, I felt the difference when I drove it too. Eventually I took my car home and realized how crappy their detailing was on my car. There were micro scratches all over my clear coat paint and swirls everywhere. Save you and your car time and money and take it else where unless you don't care about your car. I'm never coming back here!!! read more
