They communicated with our neighbor's insurance company to get a quick quote/estimate. After my wife dropped off her vehicle, they took her to enterprise to pick up her rental vehicle. During the repair process, they kept us in the loop and explained everything well. When repairs were done, my wife was able to swing by to drop off the rental vehicle at their shop and drive off in her vehicle. Enterprise then came to the shop to pick up the rental vehicle. Not impressed. I had someone hit my car in a parking lot which resulted in damage to the passenger side - scratches that went through the paint. It's a leased car so I needed to get it fixed before my lease was up. La Mettry quoted me an insanely high price to get it all repaired. I told them I didn't want to go through insurance and they encouraged me to - I'm assuming they can get more money if customers go through insurance. I got a second opinion at a local place by work. I've used them in the past and they've always done a great job. The repairs will be less than half of what La Mettry was quoting. No insurance necessary. The less expensive place told me I was taken advantage of and that La Mettry is known for this. Steer clear. read more

My side window was smashed. I was 5 minutes late. The technician was standing in the lobby and immediately took charge. They showed me the invoice before doing work. Original estimate was 2+ hours. He was done in about 45 minutes. Took me out to car for approval, paid, went home. Safelite was $140 more on a $210 charge. Very good experience. All staff were friendly, professional and attentive! Walter must never have had an important job. You just don't pull people out of a meeting for a fragging quote. Has Walter always been absolutely on time with everything? I've had to have body work done here in the past and was very satisfied with the work and the customer service. This year I had them look at something else to give me an estimate. The guy popped the problem back into place and so far so good. WOW... the other three places had higher estimates, mediocre friendliness, and for sure nobody else tried pushing it back into place. Poor customer service overall. I took my car in for a quote and after looking the car over James told me that the quote and how soon they could get the car in the shop would be emailed within 30 minutes. When I had not received it well after 30 minutes I called and was told nothing could be done because James was in a meeting. I said they should get him out of the meeting which they refused to do and asked for my phone number. I said I was coming back and I wanted to talk to a manager. As I was driving there my phone rang and a voice mail was left. When I arrived at LaMettry's I listened to the voice mail. This person told me that maybe the email had gone to my SPAM folder. I cannot check for SPAM on my cell phone. I went in and asked for a manager. James, who is the manager, came out and said to check SPAM and if it is not there to call him and have it resent. Why didn't he just offer to print off a copy? I left not feeling that I had been treated well at all. Apparently the blame is placed on technology. What a convenient excuse. The email quote never went to my SPAM folder and when I checked later in the day it had finally ended up in my Inbox. When I read the email it indicated that the quote was attached and that when they would let me know later when they could get the car in the shop. That did not come with the quote as I was told. By the way, we have used this LaMettry's location in the past and were always impressed. That is not the case this time. I was exceptionally pleased with the service I got at Lamettry's. I was rear-ended a little while ago, and it's the first accident that I've ever been in. Obviously that collision wasn't my fault, but the other driver's insurance provider (The Hartford) was so nasty to me on the phone that I wasn't sure what to do. Of course, they didn't want to pay for anything extra, including me having a rental car over the weekend (but that was really all that I could arrange with my work schedule.) I called Lamettry's and talked to Dayna on the phone. She was completely reassuring that everything was going to be taken care of, and then she connected me with someone named J.R. who deals with those insurance issues a little more. I told him about my experience with the insurance company, and he told me not to worry about anything-- just bring the car in and everything else would be handled on their end. I dropped off my car, got a rental from Enterprise (which is right next door) and everything was great. When I picked up my car, the work was great, my car had been cleaned (inside and out!) and there were no additional charges. Basically, I'm sure that most any company would have done a decent job on replacing my rear fender, but having them reassure me that everything would be taken care of and dealing with the insurance company went a long way with me. Everyone was really nice and understanding on the phone and in person, even though I'm sure that they must hear the same things day in and day out. I was both relieved and impressed, and they made the whole process a lot less stressful. I would definitely do business with them again, as well as recommend them to friends and family. read more
