I couldn't have been more impressed! Their professionalism and keeping me up to date on what was happening with my car far exceeded my expectations. They also worked with the rental car company to make sure that it was ready and waiting for me when I dropped my car off. I worked with Bob who went above and beyond to keep me up-to-date and gave me very realistic time frames of when I would get my car back. I did a bad job of parking in a tight space while trying to make sure I didn't hit another car and scraped the driver's side of my car. So I started reading reviews of auto body shops on multiple sites and went first to Raymond Auto Body for an estimate. No appointment was needed and very shortly after I arrived Joel came out, introduced himself, and began the estimate. I was given a detailed printout of the estimate and I asked when the repairs could start. Joel and Beth gave me a start date and I was on my way after being thanked for stopping in. I had to make an appointment with the body shop I went to for an estimate. That estimate was notably higher so I emailed and then talked with Joel about the differences in estimates. I was very comfortable with my interaction with Joel and told him that I will definitely bring my in to Raymond Auto Body for the repairs. When I dropped my car off I met Ryan who was going to be my contact throughout the repair process. He let me know what was happening with my car and when I picked up my car after the repairs were completed it looked like new and left for a dental appointment. But I did notice a couple of glitches with some of the car's electronics and emailed Ryan about them. At his suggestion I went back in the next morning and he ran a scan on my car. In a few minutes all the glitches were resolved including a couple I had not noticed. So now my car, with 1400 miles, really is like new thanks to everyone at Raymond Auto Body, especially Ryan and Joel! read more

From the first conversation for scheduling repair and confirming that I would need a vehicle rental, to receiving this survey, every interaction with Raymond Auto Body has been about ensuring my complete customer satisfaction. The lovely front desk staff people were friendly and professional, always helpfully letting me know where to wait and who I was waiting to meet. My service representative Andre receives 5-stars, plus! On our first meeting, he explained the entire repair process, in full, without being remotely patronizing - which in and of itself was incredibly refreshing. (As a middle-aged woman, one might be surprised [or maybe not] at some of the fluffy crap I get when it comes to servicing my vehicles. The difference with me is having 12 years in the automotive business; from sales to appraisals, and I know my stuff.) From this first contact to when I retrieved my beautifully repaired, impeccably detailed vehicle, Andre was simply extraordinary! I received daily texts (my preference of communication) from him, with progress reports on the vehicle. He even let me know that if the insurance company contacted me, I could just ignore them, as he was handling every part of the process. Amazing! When the time came to pick up my vehicle, it was even FULLY DETAILED! Inside and out! What an absolutely lovely surprise for me, but this had to have been a short-straw task for someone - as that poor ride hadn't seen a vacuum cleaner in years. They found things in there that I didn't know I had - LOL. I mean, the whole thing was shampooed, for goodness sake! They did very good work replacing a mirror on our Honda Fit. It was a complicated job with electronics and camera, that required software adjustment. Not many shops can probably do this. It wasn't exactly aimed right at first, but they redid the work until they got it right. i highly recommend them. read more

Totaled my vehicle and had insurance tow it here. They were great to work with. Always answered the phone and proactively called me back with updates. Took the time to show me how they evaluated the damage. Let me swing in an pull stuff from the vehicle before it was taken to the salvage yard. They were up front about the fees that would be covered by insurance and what I would have to pay if they housed it longer. Nice people and great to work with. read more

A coworker recommended this body shop to me after I backed out of my garage too enthusiastically and ripped the driver's side mirror off my car. From the time I showed up for an estimate Tuesday afternoon to the moment I drove home with a new mirror (and hubcap) was less than 48 hours-- amazing! I drive a 2011 silver Toyota Camry, and the folks here were really quite friendly. I feel like they went the extra mile to find me a mirror that would match my paint and be economical. I also needed a new hubcap after I drove through floodwaters in Houston, TX, a few years ago, and they found one of those for me as well. Both look like it came with the original car and were installed promptly and without fuss. I also sideswiped a yellow pole in a parking garage years ago (okay, I'm not a great driver-- that's basically what I'm trying to say with this review), and the guys who fixed the mirror/hubcap situation also took the time to wipe some of the yellow paint off my car. It was really nice of them, and my entire vehicle just looks better for it. All in all, I had a really great experience working with these folks. The place was neat and tidy, and the staff were really responsive. One of the ladies at the front desk was a touch on the cold/rude side when I called and when I showed up to get my estimate, but it wasn't terrible, and everyone else was just really friendly. He apologized And offered to meet with me and explain why things happened with my claim the way they did. AGAIN, Raymond went so far above and beyond the norm that they couldn't even see the norm from where they were. I had my car fixed here a while back after being rear-ended (you can read my glowing review below) and later figured out that the trunk was leaking a little (not actually their leak, which I will explain in a second). They have a lifetime warranty on their work, so I brought it back today to have them take a look. I rarely used my trunk before I became the Yelp CM and found myself knee-deep in schwag all the live-long day. Anyway, because of that, I hadn't noticed this leak for quite some time... plus, in my infinite wisdom, I waited waaay too long to go in after I noticed it. I felt a little embarrassed admitting I had known about this leak for months (nay, years... ugh), but they didn't seem to judge and were able to check it out right away. You are basically assigned to one person as your go-to contact, which I think is really nice. When I arrived today, the receptionist looked up my car and then let me know she'd find Jason, my go-to. Start-to finish, I was there for maybe 30 minutes and Raymond fixed things that were not their problems in the first place and sent me on my way with no charge. The trunk leak was actually due to some corroded screws---and they replaced those and re-sealed it. Also, earlier this week, the undercarriage salt/sand-protective shield fell off of my car (I blame those dang Uptown speed bumps). They put that back on too. AND when Jason pulled the car 'round to hand it over to me, it was CLEAN. Say what?! I know that both those repairs required very few parts aside from some screws, but some other shop would've probably tried to charge at least a couple bucks for the trouble. I really appreciated the nice gesture and the valuable time that they spent on my aging, but beloved automobile. And, I mean... washing the car?! Above. And. Beyond. read more

A recent bid from Raymond was $273 higher (32%) than one from Schoonover in Shoreview. The dollar amount isn't the end of the world for a high-ticket item when insurance is covering the repair, but I'm paying for this out-of-pocket and the difference between $853 and $1126 is a lot. I looked over the bids, and most of the difference came from labor. The guy, John, who did the bid was friendly, but the women I talked to on the phone and at the desk were not nearly as impressive. I went back and forth about doing 2 or 3 stars, but I think the cost difference is enough for a 2. I'm sure the many positive reviews for Raymond are warranted, but I thought this might help those who have a "minor" repair like mine. read more

I just got my car back from a front bumper replacement. What is more impressive than the new bumpers is the exterior and interior detailing in the car. It was a great surprise to see my car very clean inside and outside. The customer service is great. I brought my 2014 Audi A5 to Raymond to repair significant collision damage to the left front bumper, headlight, and fender. Damon Slaikeu was in constant contact with me throughout the repair. He answered all of my questions clearly and with friendly professionalism. Damon did all the work with my insurance company; I didn't have to do anything but provide him with the claim number. The repair is flawless, as if the collision never happened. After I initially picked up my car, I discovered minor issues with the Homelink system and the interior door trim. Damon followed up on these immediately. To address the trim issue, he even sent someone from Raymond to the Audi dealership where the Homelink system was being repaired, saving me a trip to the auto body shop. I would give negative Stars if I could. I had previously chose to bring my car to Raymonds Auto. After investigating I found out they were a Certified for Volkswagen Repair. Well, I would assume that being a certified dealer would mean that they were a reputable company. (NOT) My car looked great after picking it up and costed thousands of dollars paid by State Farm. But, I was happy! Recently I drove off with the gas pump still in the car ruining 1)my fuel door and 2) nozzle part where it's inserted. I called around a few places and found the fuel door for $30 but it was not the matching color. I decided to call up Raymonds Auto thinking that they would be able to paint it to the right color. I spoke with Jason who instructed me that it would be about $70 to paint the used cover if it's in good condition. I then told him that I would continue looking to see if I could find the exact match. Jason instructed me that he would look to see how much it was for a brand new one. About a week went by and I never heard back from this guy Jason. I became frustrated and called up to Raymonds Auto I was told that he was sick, he wasn't working today just all sorts of BS. After getting upset I was ready to make a complaint like who runs business like this. But then I received a voicemail saying that if he were to get me a new part it would be white for $140 -But, it would still need to be painted. And thats an extra $70 but they he likely had some spray pattern crap from last time to blend the new part & paint. Jason told me that he would be able to fix the nozzle part basically free, he would include it in the cost of .5 -1hour worth of work. Saying it was a easy fix, people do this all the time. So, now again, this Jason guy is MIA and I'm directed to Chad. (He should be fired with his shaddy ass) I'm on the phone and I'm trying to make an appointment to drop the vehicle off to get the gas door put back on, as well as get the check engine light turned off, and the nozzle part fixed like Jason said. BUT NOW, that I have the part and it's the exact color it should be shit chamged real quick I'm thinking it's going to be like .5- 1hours worth of work for the $70 bucks. Chad quotes me $130 over the phone. I'm skeptical because the prices that I've been told aren't adding up for the exact same thing. I tell Chad that I want to bring the car in so that he can see it so that he can tell me an exact price to make sure that we're on the same page of what's being expected. I didn't want to have to go through my insurance company but the cost can can't exceed my deductible. I bring the car in as well as the part that I just purchased for $40 from the junkyard Ace Auto down the street which is an exact match with no scratches. Chad proceeds to tell me that NO, he can't fix the fuel nozzle that I need an entire fuel tank for nine hundred and some dollars plus labor of $300 yes. Chad is looking at the vehicle while he's quoting me this. Chad clearly sees what needs to be done. He must have thought I was some stupid little girl that he was just going to pocket the money. Continuing to scam people to make Raymonds Auto richer. Or maybe that punk was going to pocket the cash. I told Chad to write that s*** down because I couldn't believe it and I don't think anybody else would believe me if I told him what he had just said if he didn't write it down. (I told Chad he needed to write it down because I would forget) HEARING THIS BS: I told asked him to please return my part to me. Sayinf that I would need to do some more investigating and I would get back to him. I bring the car to the Volkswagen dealership they told me that they can fix the fuel nozzle for $120 per hour which would likely be done within the hour. Still unsatisfied I try another auto body shop. I show the guy what I did. I showed him the part. He asked me if I had time to wait while he looked at it. (I was like, Yes please!) This honest guy in Savage literally grabbed a hammer. Hit the fuel nozzle a few times against his finger. Then, he went inside of the car hooked up something underneath the steering wheel. Started the car and turned it off. Telling me he just fixed my check engine light and fuel nozzle. He had fixed it and less than 2 minutes no b*******. So now here comes the door that I thought this would just be a total headache because he was going to take everything apart to get this fuel door put back on. The guy takes off a screw by where it latches pulls out the old one smacks in the new one in under 10 minutes. I'm literally out the door in less than 20 minutes. The guy charged me $50. Plus, the $43 I paid for the part. Totalling $93 Raymonds Auto literally tried to charge me $901.54 in parts plus $300 labor. This place is getting rich by scamming customers and insurance companies. I'm sure of it!!! I bet the owners are richer then shit by scamming it's customers. What a disgrace! read more

After I clipped my fourth deer, this time in my spiffy Audi, I called the dealer find who they use for collision damage: Raymond Auto Body. Walking in to drop it off, it appeared from the plaques on the walls that all the German makes call Raymond home, including Benz and Porsche. Reassuring... ...then I picked up my car and found out why: my Phantom Black beauty looked absolutely stunning! The finish and polish were better than when I picked it up new (and it was gorgeous then too). The fit and quality of workmanship was without compare and their attention to detail is amazing. I completely smashed the front of my new car, and the car dealership had it towed to Raymond's Autobody. Being brand new, many of the parts needed were not readily available, and as a result, fixing it took much longer than usual. Joe proactively kept me updated and was very transparent. He called to let me know how things were progressing, and what was holding things up and why. Based on the updates it was clear he was working very hard to speed the process while also making sure everything would be done correctly. He took care of the whole process and everything was smooth on my end. He is obviously very thoughtful and puts great care into his work, both in terms of quality and in communicating with customers. Brought my 2001 VW Jetta in for some work before heading to a car show across country. Let me say for starters that I was really impressed at how quickly they were able to get me in. Chad, who was my advisor was wonderful to work with. They ran into some complications that set things back a little more than anyone anticipated, but the communication was always there and they went above and beyond. Thieves with little respect for customer property. Avoid at all costs. An item valued at about $25 went missing from my car while under their watch. One of their employees also deleted my bluetooth settings and replaced them with hers. I'm assuming they had music playing while working on my car, which would mean the battery was in use for extended periods of time without the engine being on. This can damage the battery. As for the actual work, yes, they did fix my car. They did not follow up on brakes I requested to be inspected, nor did they follow up with an estimate for dents they pointed out that I had not noticed. Overall, communication was poor. While picking up my car, a man in the waiting room was complaining about how they had scratched his car and had to wait an extra week to get his car back, so I do not expect my experience to be an isolated incident. read more

After DS's review (1/29/13) appeared, the service adviser called me to blame DS for her poor experience with dropping off the car (she was late, but called the shop with her new arrival time) and to whine about the "unfair" and "slanderous" review. I had no idea that guys in the automotive industry were so SENSITIVE. Service adviser also told me that Raymond would NOT work on our car. An odd contrast to several other businesses we've worked with in the past few days who are delighted to have our business. Apparently at Raymond, the customer is supposed to fawn all over them, rather than the other way around. Raymond returned our car by driving the wrong way down the one way street we live on (which rubs us and our neighbors the wrong way) and with yellow masking tape frozen to the door. The guy who delivered the car did not even introduce himself, so I don't know if it was the service adviser or somebody else who lacks common courtesy. Enough said. Apparently Raymond has more customers than they want/need. Nothing else could explain their behavior. read more

I have had excellent service from Raymond in the past so expected all to go well. HMMMM not this time. After driving across town in the cold weather with my window stuck in the open position I had to wait for the service representative's meeting to end so they could check me in. Before I could review what was wrong with my car with a coordinator (it was an insurance claim from an accident), they drove it into the bowels of the shop so I got to walk back into the dusty, dirty, and EXTREMELY loud work area to try to explain what happened to my car. Fast forward 24 hours I have no calls from Raymond Auto Body but I do have a call from State Farm. State Farm says that Raymond called them in to inspect the car because Raymond thought the body damage was prior and unrelated to the accident. So nothing will be fixed on the claim. And by the way, they still haven't looked into the window - guy at Raymond is not sure they'll be able to figure that one out..... DUH!!! read more

WHOA! What a great experience! About a month ago my car was minorly swiped in a parking lot. It was mostly paint from the other vehicle on the rear door. There were some minor dents, and we couldn't even see if there were scratches due to the amount of the other vehicle's paint on my car. My insurance company, Frank LaNasa (another great company) suggested I try Raymond Auto Body. Steve took a look and gave me an estimate for the full repair -- pulling out the little dents and repainting the whole door. But he also suggested we try buffing the door -- it would not pull out the dents, but it might look ok. My car is over 10 years old, and I can't imagine keeping it much longer, so why not try the easy thing? I dropped the car off this morning around 10. I came by to get it about 2 -- I saw it in the lot before I even walked into the shop. They had buffed it out, and the dents were still there and the scratches were there too, as expected, but it didn't look too bad. I also noticed it was clean as a whistle -- they had washed it and even done that shiny stuff on the tires! I was a little nervous they had spent a lot of time on it and I was gonna pay dearly for it. I went into the shop and Steve told me the work was on the house. Totally free. I could barely believe it. He told me just to come back in if I ever really smashed it up. When I got into my car -- YEP! They cleaned the inside too. I am awed! So happy with these guys, no question where I will go if I ever do get in a real accident. read more
