My 2005 Honda Civic LX Special Edition, which I bought new, may be 21 years old, but I've taken good care of it. It is mechanically sound, it has only 26,800 miles on the odometer and its factory fire-engine-red paint looks to be unfaded. At age 90, I'm sure it will outlast me I had my first accident earlier this winter, and it was nasty. A chunk of ice left by a snowplow got trapped under my front bumper cover and split it six ways from Sunday. Attached pix show the BEFORE and AFTER left-side split--the right-side damage was twice as bad (sorry, the BEFORE pic won't upload). Two indie body shops would replace the bump cover and paint it for $1,000. As I drove to Oscar Auto Body for a third estimate, I pretty much figured it would come in with a $1K replacement, too. Owner Ramin Hakimi did, but then he suggested another way. He would weld the splits from the underside of the cover and brush-touch the paint. "You'll be able to see the tiny seam where the splits meet," he said,' but the casual observer won't notice any difference." Cost? $370. This plan's potential savings led me to show Ramin some surface damage to my rear bump cover, incurred some time ago when I backed into a brick wall too low to see. He'd take care of this cosmetic damage for $89 (Collision Bonilla wanted $700!). Attached pix shows AFTER. I chose to have both front and rear ends done, and I couldn't be happier with the work done, including the paint match. My choice made Ramin happy, too, because as an environmentalist he hates having to trash big pieces of fiberglass (his shop was one of the first in the city to transition to water-based or low-volatile organic compound (low-VOC) paint). I went to a family gathering last Sunday. I pulled into the driveway behind my brother, a perfectionist mechanical engineer. Walking over to my Civic, he said, "I see you decided to pop for a new bumper cover." Nuff said. Finally, I want to say that I wholeheartedly agree with the many online reviewers who found Ramin extraordinary. He is forthright and will give you his undivided personal attention as well as a more-than-fair price. He did not patronize me as so often happens with women drivers or discount my input because of my advanced age. We all want an honest estimator, and Ramin Hakimi is IT. He's so customer-focused, gives everyone personal attention, and truly cares about meeting their needs. The shop is clean and organized. The Tech's I spoke to were bright and engaged people who like their job, and cars. I drive a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, which is a fairly rare and unique car. It was instantly recognized as such by their Tech's, and given great care. Which is not to say that other vehicles are given less care, indeed not! They understand that a vehicle is important to a person, and respect that connection. This was not a collision repair. My rear bumper cover cracked by dangling when a mounting hole rusted out. They fixed the hole, which was not in an easy spot. I asked they replace both bumper covers, and paint them a different color from the body. We found the paint code and Ramin said "no problem." I asked if they could use a rust-prevention treatment on the metal under the bumper cover. Ramin said "no problem." He was clear on cost and timeline throughout the process. Rust had started to appear where the windshield meets the roof on my 2011 Kia Sorento. The car's in great shape with low mileage, one owner. I brought the car to a couple of longstanding, well-known and recommended body shops for repair - one said "We won't repair it. We'll replace the entire roof, because that's what Kia recommends". Didn't so much as look at it. The other one took a quick glance at the rust spot and said "It will cost you thousands and thousands of dollars." These brush off responses disappointed and aggravated me. then I remembered a man I used to work for - and highly respected - recommending Oscar Auto Body to me. I went to see Ramin. Showed him the car and told him what the other guys had said. Ramin said their statements meant they just didn't want to do the work. Ramin gave me a preliminary quote of less than $1,000. When I picked the car, Ramin showed me pictures of the corrosion holes they had exposed after removing the windshield. These were pictures taken both before and after his shop removed the corrosion, filled the holes and epoxy coated the repairs. I also had Ramin and his crew do some pointless dent repair and touch up painting all around the vehicle exterior, too, and drove out of there with an excellent job and a great looking car for less than $1,400 all-in. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. My car was broken into a few days ago, and--as one might expect--it was an infuriating, frustrating experience. Whoever did it managed to get away with these very exciting items: my gym bag filled with sweaty gym clothes, and some very used, very gross dance clothes. ENJOY! But they did manage to cause some damage by shattering one of my side windows to retrieve said treasures. After reading through Yelp reviews, I decided to try Oscar Auto Body, and it was one hundred percent the right decision. Ramin was, from our very first interaction, absolutely kind, calming, and eager to help. Though they had a busy week, he managed to get me in within days. Ramin did his best to find me a used window to lower my costs, though for speed's sake I ended up going with a new one. Still, the parts and labor were absolutely reasonable. I didn't have time to completely clear out all the glass, and I nearly cried when I saw that they'd done a quick vacuum of the rear seat. Then when I got in to drive away, I saw that they'd left me some gum as well! I mean... it's the small things that really make a business stand out, but this one nailed everything from the pricing, to the service, to the little memorable details. Thought I would update my review from 2013. But no change really. Ramin is still there giving excellent and friendly customer service. And he backs it up with excellent staff who really care about their craft. To wit I brought in a beautiful deep metalic black/blue painted 2019 Rav 4 XSE. Someone with what must have been a flat bed truck backed into our parked car leaving us with $3k of cosmetic damage, and drove off. My insurer forced me to go to one of the big collision chains for the estimate, but are not allowed to tell me where to get the car fixed. I knew this would be a tough one with a tricky paint job and full front end body part replacement, so I quickly headed over to my buddy Ramin, he took a look at the estimate and said no problem, but warned my about supply chain parts delay issues. A month later we are in Spain, touring Royal Alcázar of Seville when my phone rings and it's Ramin telling me that the last part arrived faster than expected, and could I get the car over to his shop, a day later he has my car. A couple days after our return I pick up the vehicle, and the front end is flawless, I can't imagine the amount of detail work and paint matching that went into this job. Due to the positive reviews I read on Yelp, I went to Oscars Auto Body to get my bumper replaced and I must say that I was not disappointed at all and I would recommend anyone who needs to get their car repair to go there. Ramin, the main guy who works there assisted me in taking a look at my bumper and getting it fixed/replaced. He was very professional, knowledgeable, very friendly and such a pleasure to work with. He explained to me about my car's damages in a way that I could easily understand him, unlike most auto places that I have gone to in the past. Really unhappy. Did really bad job. I visited this place looking at the good reviews everyone gave. I had a scratched in the left bump and wanted to get it fixed. Ramin told me it would be fixed ofcourse it cannot be flawless but he would fill in and then color it that would be a good option vs repainting the whole bumper for $1500 he himself said the scratches were not too bad and suggested I just get them filled. First he kept postponing saying the color had not arrived and then when the D day came the result was not even 50% of what I had expected it to be. He had shown me pictures and it was not even 50% close to what I expected. The color does not match at all! And he accepted it, he should not have gone with it then. Then he suggested I pay him additional $$ so he could fix it! First of all he was the one who messed up the color not me. I did not want to waste any time. These guys are just the absolute best. Five years ago I worked with them to get my bumper fixed and it was a dream. There was no stress, they worked with my insurance, and my car looked just like new at the end. Ramin made sure my priorities would match what they were doing (time vs cost vs quality) to the car. Most of the damage was covered by insurance so I picked quality but one crack was not so I picked cost. Even for an inexpensive fix to a cracked bumper, it looked great! Someone hit our car in a parking lot and ran. I don't care much about cosmetics. I just want no rust. Rust spreads like the plague and eats your car from inside out. I took the car to a reputedly excellent body shop and told them that my insurance won't pay for fixing it. I asked for the least expensive way to prevent the rust. The cheapest solution they came up with was $803. They, of course, wanted to repair, paint and refinish everything. I didn't want to spend eight hundred bucks, though. But they didn't suggest any other alternatives. Therefore, I searched the web and found Oscar Auto Body with many 5star Google reviews. I don't know about you. But when all the reviews are positive (especially for auto body services), I get dubious and can't believe all the customers were really happy with the service they received. But I thought it's worth giving it a try. Yesterday, I took the car for a free estimation. On their estimation form, they ask about your preferences and concerns. I chose price as my first concern. The owner, Ramin, looked carefully at the damaged part as well as the whole car's body, took some photos, and suggested different alternatives, including simply cleaning the bruises and brush-touching them to prevent rust. I came back today and it took about two hours to brush-touch the car during which I studied in one of the many nearby cafes on the Eat Street. I ended up paying $120 for brush-touching the accident area and a few other cracks. I really liked that they offered different options and came up with a solution that suited our budget and preferences. Ramin also found two other rust spots between the rear glass and the roof which the other body shop didn't notice. He, however, didn't push us to fix them right away. He, instead, suggested that if we don't want to spend much, he could put some oil on them to reduce the speed of corrosion and that we should keep doing it. The second day we went there, we realized that he's Iranian-American. FIVE STARS! I cannot say enough how happy I am that I found Oscar Auto Body. I scraped the side of my newish Toyota Corolla on our retaining wall, and I did not want to put in an insurance claim for such a small, aesthetic problem. The scrape went across three separate panels and there was a shallow dent. I really just wanted the pieces sanded down and repainted, to avoid rust in the future. I received quotes from two other body shops: one for $2,200 and one for $1,800. The first place insisted that one panel needed to be replaced entirely, and neither place would accept that I was fine with leaving the dent and only addressing the paint scrape. I sought out Oscar Auto Body because of the positive Yelp reviews and was SO happy with the result and the insanely reasonable price. OAB quoted me a price of $150-$160 to buff and repaint the problem area, making sure to give a disclaimer that the paint color may not be *exact*. The final price was $122, and I absolutely do not notice a difference in the new paint color. I would recommend this company to anyone. read more

Ramin is wonderful to work with, replaced windshield same day, with one day advance notice to obtain glass. Even transferred my State Park sticker to the new glass and direct billed my insurance company for the total cost. Nice. I had bought a new rear hatch trim piece a couple years ago after tearing my old trim piece off backing out of the the garage with my hatch up (lucky it was only trim). Had never gotten around to having it installed, figured it would be at least a couple of Benjamin's at a pro shop because the entire interior lining of the hatch had to be removed to get at the trim retaining clips. Ramin quoted a number so low that I assumed the decimal to be in the wrong place. All work done in one day. You can't ask for a better body shop, was worth going out of my way a bit. I drew first blood on my 2011 Toyota Corolla by catching my front left bumper on some hard ice while turning into my narrow driveway. Multiple parts of the bumper cracked and ripped away, and the bottom lining came loose. Lesson learned. As a young and car-illiterate college student, I was really nervous about finding a place to get the car fixed. I was worried about getting lied to, swindled, harassed, you name it. I also still have very little experience with "adulting," and trying to take care of car damage without the help of my parents seemed very "adult." I found all of the nice reviews for Oscar Auto Body (OAB) on Yelp, and decided to give it a shot. Ramin, the owner, immediately made me feel welcome and at ease. He took photos of the damage, and had me fill out a form that asked me what my priority was; I chose affordability. He gave me two options on how he could fix my car, sent me an estimate for both of them, and asked me to take some time to think on which choice I wanted to make. There was zero pressure to make a decision on the spot much to my relief, since I was so overwhelmed. He stabilized the damage with a bungee cord and I went on my way. Once I made a decision, Ramin and Jodie, another main employee of OAB, did a great job communicating with me over the phone, email and text! They kept me in the loop every step of the way and explained things thoroughly and simply. When I got my car back, it looked beautiful. OAB did an outstanding job. They even washed the interior, which was so nice. The shop assured me that the warranty on their repair is good for as long as I own the car, and to come back anytime if something was off. I would especially like to commend Ramin's gentle and gracious manner. He has a gift with people. I highly recommend Oscar Auto and Body for any work you need done. Regret going here. My front bumper was scuffed up from curbs. Ramin gives me a quote and I bring it in a week later when the parts arrived. It will take 3 days, will call when it's ready. He never called. I pick up the car. As I'm driving to work it makes a weird sound. Take it back in, they forgot to properly attached the license plate. Next day still making weird sound, but it's worse and louder. Take it back in. They forgot to finish putting the bumper back together and part of the underside is dragging on the ground. It's ruined. He argues it's not their fault and offers me 50% off to fix his mistake. We argue, finally he decides that they will fix their mistake. He will call me when parts come in. Never called. Called him to bring car in. Finally fixed it. Overall quality of the bumper repair is terrible. Don't recommend Oscar's UNLESS you are ok being without your only mode of transportation for several days and have the extra time to go back and forth and don't mind taking the time off work to accommodate poor quality workmanship and having to make the effort to follow up constantly as you are ignored the entire process. The end result is a very poor finished product. Very disappointed. Never again. read more

I cannot emphasize enough that anyone with any car issue should only go here and always go here as i would if i did not live in st cloud. just about an hour ago, i pulled off the highway after noticing in the reflection of only one headlight in the car in front of my in a total cluster fuck of rush hour traffic on 35w. i went on yelp to find an auto shop nearby and oscars came up. it was 5:15 and they closed at 5:30. i called and he said he would take me, which right there is above and beyond what i would have expected from any car shop. I spoke with Ramin, who helped me once i got there and could not have been any nicer. when i got there it became evident that my headlight had a rusty boot. i enjoyed that i was told that as if i knew what that was- then he explained it after seeing my deer in headlights gaze. in addition to the rusty problematic boot, he had to order a bulb as they did not have the one for my yaris, a car that very few other if any minnesotan is dumb enough to attempt to drive on snow. he actually got another place to drive it over to the shop, at this point after 545, well after the shop was meant to be closed. I am thrilled to be legal again! My experience with Ramin and his team at Oscar Auto Body was so excellent that I feel compelled to write my first Yelp review in years to tell you about it. I found Oscar Auto Body through this very Yelp page, and I want to pay it forward. Stop searching and just bring your vehicle to Ramin; at LEAST to get a free quote and meet him. Ramin is an excellent, genuine small business owner of the kind you rarely find these days, and the quality and integrity of service I got from Oscar Auto Body were absolutely top notch. Let me tell you, Yelp reader, two quick things about my experience to convince you: 1. Ramin took the time to explain my options and teach me how the repair was going to work, so that I could make the right choices for me and my budget. I won't lie... Oscar Auto Body was the third body shop I talked to. I had already found a pretty good guy recommended by a coworker, and also got an estimate from a big-name-shop pushed hard by my insurance agent. But both of those shops left me feeling uncomfortable and confused... they looked over my damage (sad to admit: I swiped a motionless concrete pillar in my garage, destroying a door and denting the rear quarter panel) and said "OK, here's the price. Take it or leave it." That price was bad. It was right around the "break even" point... where I could either pay it straight up cash now (ouch), or I could pay my deductible and file an insurance claim, and pay the rest of that same amount over the next 3 years in increased premiums, AND risk losing my insurance if I got in another accident. And I didn't even know how good the repair was going to turn out. Dilemma. Uncomfortable. Then I talked to Ramin. Ramin came out and looked over my car WITH me, walking me through how he was making his estimate. He brought up options I didn't know I had... I could paint & blend the entire side of my car for the best "like new" appearance, OR, I could save some money by only painting the door (which I would have to replace either way). I could buy a new door for $X, or we could try and find one from salvage, for less, but it might take so and so much time to find that door. I wasn't sure what to say about the paint, so he took me to his paint shop to show me a car of similar color that his team had just repainted, to show me how it would turn out. He told ME to decide whether that aesthetic difference was important to me, and here's how much the cost difference was. Then we talked about the dent damage, and he explained how they would go about fixing it, and how the various parts of the car were connected, to explain the disassembly/reassembly costs that went into the estimate. I walked away completely understanding what was going to happen, and how much each step was going to cost. I don't think tell Ramin at the time, but he already had my business. I walked away feeling very, very confident in what was going to happen, and that I had gotten a fair price for great work. 2. The car turned out fantastic. And on time. And on budget. Got in an accident at the peak of this winter when the streets were their sloppy and slipperiest. Stopped at Oscar and got an estimate from Ramin. They were really busy due to the weather, but he still found time to get me a very reasonable estimate. After deciding to go with them, they ordered the parts and then scheduled my repair a couple of weeks later. I really like my experience here and the final price was exactly what they estimated. I had never been in an auto collision before, so after I got rear ended this winter I was at a loss of what to do and where to go. I found Oscar's through Yelp and the reviews do not lie! Ramin is amazingly friendly, helpful and he will give you all the options when it comes to repairs: do you want it done fast? done cheap? want it back to original condition? You have a lot of options and you won't be judged for whichever option you choose. He inspected every part as it arrived and made sure it was up to spec. He was also amazing at dealing with both insurance companies and I didn't have to do anything on my part besides drop the car off. His shop is also very close to Enterprise on Lake Street and they will pick you up there if you need a rental.
