After one or two years of use, we experienced some lack of quality and I began calling the cabinet maker for some advice but never received an answer to my messages. I continued to call the cabinet supplier over the next several years with no satisfaction. Foster Kitchens designed and supplied the cabinets but didn't manufacture them, but Andy agreed that the quality should have been better. Since we dealt with Andy Foster, he made the problem go away, at his expense. We had three wood craftsmen working in our kitchen these past few days, one of which was Andy Foster, correcting someone else's poor workmanship. One of the worst experiences I've had with any vendor in my 25 years in Ithaca. Went in and spent a…read morehalf hour getting advice from Susan on choice of wall tiles for partial kitchen remodel and was advised on selecting particular tile. Susan also advised me to first wait for them to order a sample tile before I placed my order and advised me that the sample should be in in a few weeks. Two months later, when I had heard nothing back, called in. After finally getting past their terrible voicemail system that constantly told me it had not yet been set up so no messages could be left, I finally spoke with salesperson who told me Susan would get back to me in a few days. Two weeks later, still no call back, left both a voicemail message and sent email to Susan's attention. Now one month after that, still no call back, no reply to the email... nothing. What a huge waste of my time and a needless delay of two months for no reason whatsoever. Fortunately, I wrote down the tile manufacturer's name and was able to finally contact the manufacturer directly to proceed with my order.

I serve as one of the alumna volunteers supervising the project. Upscale did a fantastic job - from design, through demolition and to final completion of the project! The design focused on the finishes and fixtures that were within our budget, and we were promptly notified us the few times a particular item was no longer available and were provided with a good substitute. The demolition was down to the studs and the entire room was rebuilt from there. As promised, the work zone was kept clean, with trash removed nightly. The project came in on time and the finished job was perfect! I spent a great deal of my legal career as a commercial real estate lawyer and have been involved with a number of construction projects for clients, as well as my own. This was the most perfectly finished construction project I can recall. The work was done precisely (including loads of tile work). There were NO punch list items at all. She created several renderings before deciding on a final layout which was sent to the contractor for final pricing. The cabinet and countertop selection is good and pricing is very competitive. She ordered in a natural stone sample of MIS backsplash not on hand and it came in a few days. She also suggested a product for wrapping structural support beams - Very excited about my kitchen project to begin this fall. So, more to follow...

It only required 1 person about 4 hours to finish the entire project but they would not bill by time and materials to reflect the lower cost. I'm writing this review more for those who have had work done by Paul Yaman Construction than for…read moreanyone considering using them as they don't appear to be in business anymore (to the great benefit of anyone who may have been taken in by their many "awards"). I had them reroof my house and garage, install insulated vinyl siding, and wrap all the trim on the house with painted aluminum about ten years ago. We are now in the process of replacing a section of roof that rotted out due to improper flashing where the wall of the house meets the roof of the garage. Apparently, they left a section of the OSB completely unprotected by anything other than a overhang. Over the years, snow melt has trickled into this area and rotted out the area. In addition, they botched up the area next to the eaves, resulting in fascia behind the trim rotting out as well. Elsewhere on the roof, we discovered a broken shingle they mended with roof caulking which is now deteriorating resulting in a leak in that area, inproper flashing around each of the roof penetrations, failure to properly install step flashing around a porch roof, etc. If you had any work done by them, I strongly recommend you carefully check that work to prevent further damage from occurring to your house as well.
