We talked extensively in detail about the project the costs, product estimates and timelines for what I wanted to accomplish with my remodel. Nothing wasn't discussed right down to the outlet covers. There were not surprises as to the overall cost of the project. Additionally, I did not feel pressured to expand my project past my budget. I brought Crown on to do an extensive remodel/reconstruction of a barn that had been remodeled into a home circa 1990s. They completely rebuilt the floors, kitchen, bathroom and added a half bath. The rest of the existing space, the team re-drywalled, painted and repaired the existing exposed beams. They installed new windows and replaced and updated the existing old damaged ones. The team re -designed the entry way with a walk-in closet and custom shelving. It was a very extensive process. I thought they did a beautiful job and could not be happier with the end result. I plan to use them again for any of my future projects. I hired this contractor primarily for mowing and trimming my yard and for plowing my driveway, but…read moreI hired it for a number of other projects ranging from tree and stump removal, removal of an above ground swimming pool, indoor wall spackle and paint work and the refurbishment of a bathroom. While I worked with this contractor for more than three years and encountered problems from the start, I kept with it because the price seemed right and the work was ok...but I completely ceased all further transactions in June 2015 upon the completion of a minor refurbishment of my sister's bathroom at her camp on Little York Lake. The work was shabby, they installed the wrong fixtures even though they were given a picture, item number, etc of every item. They left a mess everyday of their work and when they said they were done, the shower was leaking, the seals in the shower were pealing off, the shower liner was a foot from the ceiling, a wire was left hanging out of the ceiling, they were a week late in completing the project...and the tip of the iceberg that led to the end of my relationship with the company was when Chris Lella, the owner of the company, yelled and swore profanities to my sister when she asked him to come fix a list of 10 problems...my sister not only gave him an advance, but also paid him in full within two days of the project's late completion. He is a smooth talking, intimidating 300 pound manipulative two-faced man whom I would not recommend to anyone, especially older individuals and women. In hind site, there are numerous additional misgivings about G T Contracting, at least from my experience...aside from overcharging for services, including: every other mow job excluded any trim work at all and on numerous occasions my yard was marked with tire marks from skidding; when plowing my driveway one of his drivers ran over and disabled one of my lights which they later charged me to remove; on every occasion that they did outdoor work they never cleaned up after themselves; on three occasions when they did electrical work I had to hire an electrician to come in and fix it...they left live wires open to the elements; and there was not one stated project start or end date that was met in three years...they are always late, and have excuses for anything and everything. I guess you get what you pay for! CAVEAT EMPTOR
