On Monday, Tim found that a contractor's truck was blocking the driveway. He called and said he could return later that day and see if the truck was gone. He went over Monday evening and was able to plow the driveway for no extra charge. My sister-in-law was thrilled with the job Tim had done and happy not to have to shovel. Needing some remodeling work and never had to use a contractor in the Ithaca area, I started asking for a good contractor. I received Chris Eder as reference to use. From our first phone call, he was very professional. Chris was very punctual for our first meeting and after looking at the job that I wanted him to do, he gave me a written email estimate later that evening. Every day for work he was on time, and every day when he was done working, he always cleaned up debris or mess that he had made as if he had not even been there. I am very pleased. I have had Chris do several different jobs for me on my house and rental and he has never failed me. He has remodeled three bathrooms, trim work around floor and windows, carpet/vinyl flooring installation, subflooring, installed electric baseboard heating, ceiling lights, minor electrical work and building storage shelves in my garage for me. Chris is always accommodating around my work schedule when he does a job for me. He has never started a job and then left me hanging days before returning. Today they showed up, put 4 things on a mostly empty trailer (not truck) and told us that was all they could take. If we wanted to fill the trailer it would be twice as much. It was unbelievable, very misleading. We had them unload the few items and they left (telling us good luck finding anyone else.) They may have gotten good reviews from those who only need a specific item or items taken, but beware of hiring them for anything else. Oh, and by the way, they request to be paid in cash rather than check.
