We were told to use these guys through someone after searching for a contractor. They were very…read morenice and got the job done that we needed. we had them replace T111 and paint it the color of the house. This was in October. We had him and his grandfather come in to discuss other projects we wanted done with the house in March. He Told me multiple times he was getting us our estimate so we could present it to take out a loan. That never happened. I was told multiple times that his wife was sick or he was sick. In May, I sent him a picture of the t111 that he had put up and how it was warping really bad already. It wasn't even hot at this point. He told me he would get someone over there to get it fixed. That never happened. After messaging him multiple times I finally got him to answer me on July 3rd. He told me he was going to give me a call to schedule someone so it could be fixed. Again, this never happened. Currently it is now September with no answer from him. I am going to have to have someone else to fix it. I have to go after him for the additional cost. I have messaged him to forget about the estimate and just come and fix the siding but no answer. I run a business myself and would never treat my customers like this.

Jeff did a remodel of our kitchen, using JSI cabinets purchased from Cayuga Lumber. The project…read moretook just about 3 months which is apparently not unusual no matter who the contractor is. He came to our house every day and worked steadily through to completion, removing and recycling old cabinets and appliances, adding some cabinet trim, redoing plumbing and electrical, replacing a window, sanding and painting and all other aspects of the project other than the floor which was subcontracted to another company on Jeff's recommendation. In addition to general carpentry skills, which were superb, Jeff had a good eye for colors, symmetry, and other details that might otherwise have escaped us. When we ran into occasional hiccups with local vendors, he provided a calming perspective and sound advice on how to remedy situations. He was also attentive to issues related to dust management; putting up lots of cloths to contain dust as best as it could be done. We think one advantage was that Jeff is a one man show with no subcontractors have to coordinate with. Had we known ahead of time, we'd have just had him do the floor as well; we just didn't know he was so talented in so many areas. All things considered, we would hire Jeff again in a heartbeat. And if we were to do another kitchen, we would be sure to do it in the summer or early fall because the process really does leave you with no place to fix food in your home for a long time. Fortuitously, we started in late August and finished just before the snow started to fly; thus we were able to operate a small food prep site (microwave, countertop, fridge) in the garage and also barbecue outdoors frequently.

We had a very good experience with J.D. Ferro roofing. Franco has apparently recently taken over…read morethe company and I found him to be extremely professional and someone who cares very much about doing a good and complete job the first time. It is clear that he takes great pride in his work, and I found the work to be top-notch. Our old rubber roof had started to leak into our bedroom. Franco and I went out on the roof and identified the problem areas, and the errors in the original installation. His communication was excellent, describing exactly what needed to be done on the new roof and how they were going to avoid recreating the same errors. Their work came in at the quoted cost, even though the cost of some of the materials had risen during our wait for the job. It has been nearly a year since the work was done and the roof is holding up very well and we haven't had to ask him to come back for anything. We have two more sections of roof that will need replacement in the coming years and when they do, we will call J.D. Ferro roofing again.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! We had J D Ferro Roofing put a roof on our house in 2008. They were recommended…read moreto us because of their fine reputation. The representative said to me that this roof would still be a selling point even when the roof was 20 years old. This job has been a disaster. Within five years, water was pouring into a downstairs room. We asked J D Ferro Roofing to help us with this problem, but they were too busy and the job was too small for them to do anything substantial (they patched it up once). We had another roofing company do another temporary patchwork job (they were working in the neighborhood and I asked them to stop by). Their effort lasted longer than Ferro's, but again we now have water pouring into the study when it rains and we have to address the problem more permanently and expensively. We also had squirrels in the roof because J D Ferro Roofing had not sealed the roof sufficiently. We spent $1,000 repairing this problem. THIS COMPANY MIGHT HAVE BEEN TOP-RATE IN THE PAST BUT THIS IS NO LONGER TRUE. Not only was their work sub-standard, but they didn't even have the decency to help us fix the problems they left us with, even though we were willing to pay. Caveat emptor--buyer beware! I recommend going with a different company and avoiding J D Ferro Roofing.

I had some work done last year on the front of my home by JKS and since then it has deteriorated…read more So I called JKS back to see if they could fix the problem. The gentleman they sent up to help was absolutely talented and kind. But the owner, Jeremy, was not amenable to fixing the entire problem. He allowed the contractor a certain amount of time to work, but the original issue remains. I'm disappointed in how Jeremy handled a situation that should have been done correctly to begin with.

The poor people parked in the Handicap spot had a little boy in a wheel chair who looked to be around four or five, who appeared to have Cerebral Palsy. It was raining and they couldn't get the poor little guy in the van because this guy parked so close in the yellow lines. The people had to go in and ask for someone to come move it. The guy comes out with an attitude saying "looks like a perfectly good spot to me. Looks like a spot." The dad of the kid was rightfully getting really annoyed and this guy was being a complete jerk, even though he was obviously wrong and caused this little guy to be in the rain while they tried to get him to move. The mom looked like she was about to cry. I heard the guy say "What are you going to do call my boss? Go for it. Call my boss" and then laughed. I looked on the website and he appears to be the owner, which is why he didn't care. I didn't call because I figured it would fall on def ears. Before you support JKS Home Improvement, I suggest you think about the kind of person you are dealing with!!! If he can be so rude to parents of a wheelchair bound CHILD after he was the one who parked in a spot he shouldn't have, imagine how he's going to treat a customer!!! It took everything I had not to get involved, but it would not have been good if I did!
