We talked extensively in detail about the project the costs, product estimates and timelines for what I wanted to accomplish with my remodel. Nothing wasn't discussed right down to the outlet covers. There were not surprises as to the overall cost of the project. Additionally, I did not feel pressured to expand my project past my budget. I brought Crown on to do an extensive remodel/reconstruction of a barn that had been remodeled into a home circa 1990s. They completely rebuilt the floors, kitchen, bathroom and added a half bath. The rest of the existing space, the team re-drywalled, painted and repaired the existing exposed beams. They installed new windows and replaced and updated the existing old damaged ones. The team re -designed the entry way with a walk-in closet and custom shelving. It was a very extensive process. I thought they did a beautiful job and could not be happier with the end result. We were told to use these guys through someone after searching for a contractor. They were very…read morenice and got the job done that we needed. we had them replace T111 and paint it the color of the house. This was in October. We had him and his grandfather come in to discuss other projects we wanted done with the house in March. He Told me multiple times he was getting us our estimate so we could present it to take out a loan. That never happened. I was told multiple times that his wife was sick or he was sick. In May, I sent him a picture of the t111 that he had put up and how it was warping really bad already. It wasn't even hot at this point. He told me he would get someone over there to get it fixed. That never happened. After messaging him multiple times I finally got him to answer me on July 3rd. He told me he was going to give me a call to schedule someone so it could be fixed. Again, this never happened. Currently it is now September with no answer from him. I am going to have to have someone else to fix it. I have to go after him for the additional cost. I have messaged him to forget about the estimate and just come and fix the siding but no answer. I run a business myself and would never treat my customers like this.

Brandon was a nice young man who started his business this last February. I needed him to paint my…read moreliving room and master bedroom. He gave what I felt was a fair price. He showed up with his father to do the work. I was a bit surprised when he did not prep the rooms with drop cloths and painter's tape. It took the two of them all day for just two rooms. My hardwood floors and floor trim had pain all over the place. He had to come back the next day to paint the places he missed and start the exhaustive clean up. He seemed a bit put off when I had to keep pointing out areas he needed to touch up and where the floor was not cleaned up. I was helping to clean up parts of the living room for them , not easy since I am disabled, when my back was turned, Brandon and his helped took off without doing a final check in with me. My advice to Brandon is to ensure that you properly prep your rooms to avoid the catastrophe like what happed at my home. I will need to hire a house cleaner to finish cleaning the floors. Goddard started later in the season than promised. Fall was ending and the trees were shedding…read moretheir remaining leaves. He insisted on cutting a ridge vent. (We already had gable vents.) He never told me the downside of doing this. He had several roof panels off for two days. Lots of dirt, leaf litter and rain got into the attic. Would've been a good time to tell me we had insufficient insulation for the added ventilation. Also would've been easy for him to install the insulation with the panels off. But did he tell me? No. Our heating gas consumption DOUBLED, and of course he denied the ridge vent had anything to do with it. I never found an insulation contractor in the area. I thought about doing the job myself, but I can't squeeze through the tiny attic access port, and it's too dangerous for me, as there's no floor and I have balance issues. I'm running the heat 10 degrees below what we used to set, freezing my butt off, and still paying much higher bills. I called Goddard a couple times to address water spots that developed in a couple rooms. He wasn't nice about it. He claimed they were old spots and got angry with me. Both gutters stopped working properly. Water is falling on the front and back porches. Today I discovered one reason. He installed the drip edge tight to the fascia. The water curls around and onto the wood. It has rotted. He should know this would cause damage. I'm going to have to get someone to take off the gutters, replace the wood and then reinstall the old or new gutters. Maybe I'm judging him to harshly, but it seems to me that his job is not just to put on roofs, but also to keep his customer's homes comfortable and in good repair.
