Pete and Kat came within a couple of days after my call to view the driveway coating project and provide a contract price. I was told the job would be completed in a month, but two days later they had an opening and so came and did a nice and very neat job of sealing the cracks and sealing the blacktop. The whole job was completed rapidly, allowing more than enough for the driveway to completely dry by evening. A couple of cracks did not completely fill so they came back two days later and redid these cracks, and even added a bit more sealer on 20% of the driveway at no additional cost. Pete's Absolute Asphalt & Paving recently took care of my driveway, which was in poor shape and had not been sealed or re-paved since before I bought my house (about seven years). Pete inspected it and assessed the work that would be needed to take care of the cracks, failing edges, and overall condition. He explained the what's and why's of his prospective work thoroughly and advised what would happen if that work wasn't done. Pete is an honest and straightforward local businessman. He took my schedule into consideration and showed up when he said he would; took time with the job to do it right (weed whacked the grass edges, blew away the cuttings and leaves, and made sure the driveway was clear of any debris that would affect the sealing); and gave a firm estimate as to when I could again drive on it. He charged an appropriate and reasonable amount (what I expected), took half down and half upon completion. There were no surprise add-ons at all. My driveway was a mess before. It was in bad shape when we bought our house 15 years ago, and had only deteriorated due to a total lack of maintenance. It was wavy and uneven and downright dangerous; I almost twisted my ankle out there a couple of times! We booked Pete in the winter to resurface our driveway in the summer. Unfortunately, there was such frequent rain over the summer that Pete's schedule got pushed back 4-5 months, and it was fall before we got our new driveway. It sure was worth the wait, though! Pete's crew cleaned and resurfaced my driveway, and it looks and feels amazing! The surface is flat, the lines are clean, and the edges are nicely rounded. The area where it comes up against our stone walkway is perfectly done, with no tripping hazards to be found. Walking and driving on the new driveway is a pleasure! We were even able to set up a basketball hoop out there now that it's a safe and usable surface. I wouldn't say the job was cheap, but I feel like the quality of work was worth the expense. Pete's has maintenance covered as well. They'll be back in the spring to reseal the asphalt, and because they're on top of scheduling it I don't have to think about it. We have hired several contractors for paving our driveway and parking lots. Pete's work was the best by far. The quality of the asphalt he used was much better. The workmanship and attention to details were much better also. We recently had them seal the top of a parking lot and they did a great job with that too. read more

History with Pete's not good. Pete expanded our driveway width 5 years ago. Almost immediately, the center sunk a few inches and began to crumble. Pete promised a repair under warranty, then didn't show. Called again, and again promises that didn't materialize. Contracted him again to seal the driveway and fix problem, and when crew arrived, they had no intention of fixing the now larger soft spot. Pete then claimed that it would cost $1200 for us to have the spot fixed. We are done with Pete. read more
