It only required 1 person about 4 hours to finish the entire project but they would not bill by time and materials to reflect the lower cost. It was very difficult to get anyone on the phone who knew anything about my project in order to get it scheduled, and it was impossible to get anyone on the phone to discuss the billing complaints I had. Will never use again.

I'm writing this review more for those who have had work done by Paul Yaman Construction than for…read moreanyone considering using them as they don't appear to be in business anymore (to the great benefit of anyone who may have been taken in by their many "awards"). I had them reroof my house and garage, install insulated vinyl siding, and wrap all the trim on the house with painted aluminum about ten years ago. We are now in the process of replacing a section of roof that rotted out due to improper flashing where the wall of the house meets the roof of the garage. Apparently, they left a section of the OSB completely unprotected by anything other than a overhang. Over the years, snow melt has trickled into this area and rotted out the area. In addition, they botched up the area next to the eaves, resulting in fascia behind the trim rotting out as well. Elsewhere on the roof, we discovered a broken shingle they mended with roof caulking which is now deteriorating resulting in a leak in that area, inproper flashing around each of the roof penetrations, failure to properly install step flashing around a porch roof, etc. If you had any work done by them, I strongly recommend you carefully check that work to prevent further damage from occurring to your house as well.

By chance, the awning manufacturer moved to a different state around the time we ordered the awnings, and Carl was very good about keeping us updated on the timing of expected arrival, as well as any other unavoidable delays...one of the things we value most in a contractor is clear communication, so that we know what to expect, and Carl always got back to us quickly, kept us up to date, and we were never left wondering about anything. The installation was quick and the workplace completely cleaned up afterwards, and he came out for an additional visit promptly when we had a concern about the installation, making sure everything was perfect and to our satisfaction. We talked extensively in detail about the project the costs, product estimates and timelines for what I wanted to accomplish with my remodel. Nothing wasn't discussed right down to the outlet covers. There were not surprises as to the overall cost of the project. Additionally, I did not feel pressured to expand my project past my budget. I brought Crown on to do an extensive remodel/reconstruction of a barn that had been remodeled into a home circa 1990s. They completely rebuilt the floors, kitchen, bathroom and added a half bath. The rest of the existing space, the team re-drywalled, painted and repaired the existing exposed beams. They installed new windows and replaced and updated the existing old damaged ones. The team re -designed the entry way with a walk-in closet and custom shelving. It was a very extensive process. I thought they did a beautiful job and could not be happier with the end result. I plan to use them again for any of my future projects.
