Unfortunately, Yelp doesn't allow for ZERO stars because that is what I would give this place.
I'm all for supporting small businesses, but do yourself a favor and skip this place!! There is NO Aloha spirit here!!!!
I completely agree with Lee J's review on here. You're lucky you're not in LA because that incredibly rude service would not fly out here, and if you yelled at the wrong person (who might be crazy in the head) who knows what kind of retaliation they will take.
This review is not based on the ice cream, which we didn't buy anyway, but rather the service or should I say no service my boyfriend received while I was with him. We had been walking around Waikiki all day and my BF was really excited to try this spot. That was all he kept talking about. When we walked up, there was a line of older Japanese tourists and they were blocking the freezer. Not intentionally, it's just because the place is so small. So my BF went around them to the freezer and grabbed an ice cream then was going to hop in line. He didn't even have the door open all of 2 seconds when this crazy woman came screaming and pounded on the door to close it!! WTF?!!!!!! She was screaming to close the door because it is hot outside and the ice cream is going to melt. Then the cashier girl chimed in and said, "I told you to close the door!" What?!! How the hell are we supposed to get the ice cream out? And some of the containers were turned the wrong way so you couldn't see what it says. My BF apologized because he is a really nice well mannered guy. Then he asked me what flavor I wanted. I said NO WAY are you buying anything from these RUDE ASS people! So if you pull out the wrong flavor, are you going to get yelled at because you want to exchange it? Or have to buy a flavor you don't want?
This is when my BF confronted the lady screaming and told her she shouldn't treat her customers like that. This lady screamed at us to get out! Hahaha!!! All in front of these customers. Do you realize how crazy you look?! This lady must have really high blood pressure and I feel bad for her because she must really hate her life to treat people like this. It's kind of comical in a way. It sounds like everyone that works here is like this. What a fun place to work! Haha!!
So here is my advice to the geniuses that work and own Henry's:
1. Put the damn freezer behind the counter, so that the Employees have to get open the door!
2. Don't yell at your customers.
3. If you are going to have it where it is, maybe put some kind of code lock, that way they can't open it until they know for sure what flavor they want, then you give them the code.
4. Or have someone standing guard at the freezer.
5. Whatever you have written on the door, is obviously not working about picking your flavor first, because you have so much gibberish on the door, nobody sees it. It's pretty obvious by all of your reviews about people being screamed at.
6. If you are going to yell at people for opening the door, at least have the courtesy to have all the flavor names facing forward so that they can read them. Oh never mind, I forgot, courtesy doesn't exist here!
