Their customer service is HORRIBLE. Especially used car rep ART NELSON nad his manager CHRIS BRENT. My two weeks of dealing with these people has been the worst experience yet, when buying a car. 1st day I walk in rep Art Nelson gets me to sit with finance manager Sandra (Who is absolutely great, such a shame she has to work with these individuals) before he even asks what type of vehicle im looking for or even showing me anything. (Guess he wanted to know if I would be approved before he waisted anytime with me) The next time I meet him is when im approved (not surprised) and he tells me and my father that im approved for a car (not what i was looking for, but he wouldnt know since he never asked what i was looking for) When I tell him im not looking for a car as I have three kids and need the extra room, he responds, "what do u want? An Airplane? OBNOXIOUS. He shows me a printout of an Accord that was being lent to a cop in Burlington this sales rep named Art tells me "the cop is a jerk, he bought the same car in black and then complained about a little scratch in the tint, therefore he brought back his vehicle to be retinted and we lent him this vehicle(that was on the printout) My father a former member of public service was offended at the comment and addressed it to with Art who laughed it off. The car is $990 more than what im approved for, when i address the price being more than what i was approved, he says "dont worry we can get the price down to that" He says there are NO ACCIDENTS, LIE, i later find out there is one. He tells me the car will be there the next day,it wasnt. Then it was to be there the next day, again it wasnt. I call Art Nelson asking when the car would be back, he tells me "look here is the situation, the cop is in court, and I cant go there and drag him out of there, when the car comes in I will call you" At this point I realize this man is absolutely rude. 5 days later I return to Henley Honda to see if the car came in. And it was there. (thought they would call when it came in) and when it came it had 1000 kms more than what was being advertised. When I asked if the price would be lowered to reflect the added kms, the sales manager Chris Brent said "No, 1000 kms is nothing" (To me, that's false advertising, and whatever else you want to call it, To pay the same price for a car that was to have 1000kms less, but someone else adds the kms and im still to pay the same price, DOESNT SEEM RIGHT! When Im getting ready to sign the deal the price was never lowered to reflect what I was approved for as Art mentioned he could lower the price. When Sandra addresses this issue with the manager, he comes to her office and says to my father and I "Art cant make those decisions to lower the price, what Art was trying to say was that we can get you approved for the higher amount". He is defending the rep without even confirming our conversation when I tell the manager to ask Art, he tells me and my father "this is the deal, if you guys dont like it you dont have to take it" WHAT A JERK. We left without signing the deal. 1hr later manager Chris calls and says he spoke to Art and Art told him that he in fact did say he could do something with the price (who looks stupid now , should have done your job before we left the office) He offered a reduction of $500 if I would sign the deal but I have to get back to him by tomorrow with my decision. Well I never did. Today Chris Brent calls me and enquiries why I havent signed. Told him his CS sucks and he and Art are jerks in regards to they way they treated me and my father. This guy has the nerve to lie and change his story saying Art never told him that he said to us he could lower the price. So why call me after I walked out saying you now had a chance to talk with Art and he said he told us he can do something? Why would you now offer a reduction? I had enough of this guy, so I hung up! I read the other reviews here about Henley Honda,I also read a new owner took over and was trying to get a hand on the issues with their CS. Decided to give them a try, but I regret it. Clearly, the new owner didnt get rid of all the BAD APPLES. Would love to do business as Honda is an excellent make, however wont be doing it with these 2 individuals if I have to. This review is long overdue. It will be long but worth the read! I understand that everyone has their own opinion and experiences and I feel I need to share mine. I drive 140km a day, need a reliable, safe but yet enjoyable ride. I grew up with a GM family as most of us did in St. Catharines but I did my homework and decided to purchased my first Honda in 2012..sensational Accord Coupe, fully loaded with almost every extra option I could get, so you can imagine how money I decided to put into this purchase. I swore to myself, with this large purchase, I would make sure to do every oil change and service as my car told me to and that I did. I made sure Henley Honda was the ones that ever worked on my 'baby'. Service after service, as self promised, on time, every time. With that many visits to one place you begin to develop a relationship with these great people. It's a wonderful feeling when you walk into a place and they know you by name even after months have passed and they have seen hundreds of other customers. With that being said, even though both them and I were doing everything right with my car, things don't always go your way. Let's face it people...it's a car...mechanical...anything can go wrong and it is NO reflection on Henley Honda when it does go wrong. It's been 7 years since my purchase and have had my fair share of car trouble. I'm not going to go into all the details or list the problems, that's not why I'm posting this review. I want to share, even though unexpected issues happened, I was taken care of every time. Why? Because Henley Honda is the only one that touches my car. They were easily able to review every service record. That's a big part of this picture. How can you expect any dealership to have your back if you bring your care somewhere else to be worked on, only to return to the purchase dealership when things go awry. Even though I have been armed and ready, I have never had to fight, argue, get made or even slightly raise my voice with anyone at Henley Honda. They have made every inconvenience I have encountered manageable when I was in the warranty period and well past it. They have stepped up enormously. At one point, working directly with Honda Canada to rectify an issue...who I must add where amazing as well. If you're purchasing a Honda, then you have done your own homework and your half way there. The next step is to purchase your vehicle directly at Henley Honda and then cross the finish line by servicing your vehicle ONLY with the best service team I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with..certified Honda technicians directly at Henley. They have the most preeminent Service Manager in the area and in my opinion is unbeatable. SHAMIL AND HIS SERVICE TEAM have made me not a customer but rather a member of their family. I'm already over 260,000 km in only 7 years and still going strong. I waited this long to post a review because I wanted to be fair. I wanted to see how Henley would hold up during my warranty, after I long passed my extended warranty and after my financing was finished and I out right own my car. The service team have been impeccable and have never let me down. It is because of them alone that I trust my car. My husband ad I both bought new Honda Vehicles recently through Henley Honda in St. Catharines On. Our Salesman was Joseph Scavo and the Financial Services Manager was Sean Moffet. Buying a new car is both exciting and stressful because it is a big investment and a big decision. So you can imagine buying two cars on the same day would be a BIG decision. Both Joe and Sean were very patient with us and I am not the easiest customer. I am the negotiator in our family and I work in the financial services sector as well. I know first hand what it means to deliver excellent customer service and I expect it from businesses I deal with. In total we were with Joe and Sean for over 5 hours. Joe listened to our needs and helped us to choose vehicles that would suit both our lifestyles and our budget. We purchased a 2018 Honda CRV and a 2018 Honda Civic. The test drives with Joe were thorough and informative and he showed us the not only the 'pretty things' about the car but how the safety features perform. When it came time to discussing numbers he gave us many purchase/lease plan options. The negotiations were intense because I am a very detailed person. I look at everything, ask a lot of questions and of course I wanted the best deal possible.Joe was very patient and we were able to come to a decision that we both felt was a win for us and a win for Honda. The day we picked up our new Honda Vehicles Joe spent more than half an hour going over the instrument panel etc. It was Sean's day off but he made sure to be present just to be sure we were completely satisfied. I feel that both Joe and Sean delivered an EXCELLENT customer service experience that FAR EXCEEDED our expectations. We have been driving our vehicles now for about a month and we have since been in contact with Joe. I am pleased to say that the excellent customer service experience did not end with the delivery of our vehicles. As for the vehicles themselves, neither mu husband nor I have ever owned a Honda and we both agree that these are by far the vehicles we love the most of all the vehicles we have owned in our lives! Kudos to Honda and especially Henley Honda!!! My husband and I would highly recommend Honda Vehicles and Henley Honda in St Catharines is definitely our Dealer of Choice for anyone looking to purchase a vehicles. I have leased my last two vehicles from Henley Honda. I recently traded in my 08' Civic for an 11' Civic. I love the car, it's a model up and I love the extra features. The car is the car though, would be the same no matter where I leased it. The reason that I returned to Henley was because of the salesman Ed. He was very polite and courteous with me and my family, and I felt as though I could trust him, which as I had told him after the fact is not really the expectation that you have going into a transaction with a car salesman. I can't say that I had much interaction with many of the other staff with the exception of Kevin, the finance guy, who was also very courteous and polite, even with my daughters doing their best to try to destroy his office up his office (they were a bit impatient with the paperwork). I don't know the owner, or the majority of the staff but I think it is safe to assume that anyone that had an opportunity to deal with the same men that I've been lucky enough to deal with through the last two leases would have had a positive experience as well. My first car was NOT a HONDA. I started to have a lot of problems with it, so I went shopping with my brother in law, who is a long time Honda owner. We found a used 2003 CIVIC in Burlington. It included a free first oil change. I decided to give Henley Honda a try after that because I did not want to drive to Burlington. Other than regular maintenance, I never had a problem with the car... From the first time I visited Henley Honda in 2006, I was treated like I was someone very special. And two years ago, I upgraded to a new 2009 CIVIC. Love the car, and the service is spectacular! They always go out of their way for me, no matter what the situation. I have never had a problem with the Service or the Sales people.. The new owner is a very friendly, personable man. I am pleased to have Henley Honda look after the mechanical needs of my car, and I will always recommend them as being the best place to go for Service. I'm from Toronto and have leased my last 3 CRVs from the owner, Alex, with my last one from him at Henley Honda. I followed him all the way to St. Catharines - even though I could have opted for a Toronto dealership - because he is all about amazing service and customer satisfaction. Leasing a car this past time from him and also dealing with a few members of team was great - efficient and courteous service, with them even taking the initiative to follow up with me, instead of me having to follow up with them [now that's rare these days in sales]. They delivered my car right to my office in Toronto so it would be convenient for me. I highly recommend them if you're interested in getting any kind of Honda. Bought a 2012 CRV. Fantastic sales agent- knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic. He devoted lots of time to us in explaining the aspects and features of the car both at his office and on the test drive. Every one else involved in the sale (finance, service etc) were also excellent. The owner/manager is truly customer-oriented and very personable. At pick up time of our new vehicle, everyone from sales, finance and service were like family- a very welcoming atmosphere. Our sales person spent a lot of time re-introducing the features of our car again and was very patient with our numerous questions. The hitch that we bought on-line and sent to the dealership was installed for free! I cannot imagine car buying any better than this. I will definitely recommend this dealership to everyone who asks. I bought two vehicle from Henley Honda with exceptional experience. Sales persons are motivated for their sales and helping and understanding your need. However, after sales service is most important when you buy a vehicle from dealership. I had very pleasant experience for that. last week I went for first service for Honda Odyssey and as per schedule it should be oil change and tire rotation. but the service person check my car and said that I don't need tire rotation which saved me money. I have never seen any dealership which says you don't require this. always I have seen people dragging money out of you which you service your vehicle. We have owned a Honda for many years and I cannot believe how great the service is from the new ownership group at Henley. I didn't have anything bad to say before, however, you can clearly see the difference in the professionalism and great attitude towards customer care and service at Henley now. I recently bought a used Honda CR-V and its carproof report stated that it was served at Henley Honda for a number of years. I was short of funds and didn't want to do not necessary maintenance, which was already performed on this vehicle. But the dealer who sold me the car didn't provide any maintenance records on it. So I asked Alex to provide me some information on previous maintenance history. He and his staff were very helpful and promptly replied to all of my questions, which saved me a lot of money and made me feel confident that it will be safe to drive the vehicle after I get the rest of the maintenance done. I think some people have a chip on their shoulders and too much time on their hands. I normally NEVER write reviews but I feel bad that the squeaky wheels might get some grease in this case (although I don't know who would take them seriously and wouldn't just make an appointment like regular people). We are experienced car buyers. Buying a Honda Pilot with Alex Digenis's help was stupendous - the best we've ever had. Two years ago I purchased a used Ridgeline 2006. So where do I get service? On the recommendation from the seller, it was suggested that I visit Henley Honda. Initially I had a few problems when dealing with them. I finally sent off a frustrated email through their website. I should have done it sooner. Their customer service is AMAZING. They accept responsiblity for whats gone wrong and work hard to correct it.
