Subaru of Niagara said a 6 week wait for a new WRX, but they sat on my deposit for 8 weeks before…read moreordering it from the factory. They ignored my calls and texts, refused to refund my deposit and denied any wrong doing. I went to the dealership Sept 2nd to purchase a WRX and dealt with sales rep steve, who told me I could have a brand new WRX in 6 weeks. I paid my deposit and steve told me he would update me on the order. 3 weeks later and no response, I called the dealership and was told steve would call me back. He did not. 7 weeks after deposit, I took to their FB page and asked where my car was. This prompted a response from sales manager devin, who stated that the 6 week quoted was untrue, and that my car was in fact ordered and would arrive in Jan..... 8 weeks after deposit, sales rep steve finally contacted me to say there was a delay, and my order would not be built until Nov with delivery in Jan. I asked to cancel the order and to refund me my deposit, and steve never texted back. I asked again 2 weeks later and Steve said I would get the deposit back once someone else took over the order...... -According to OMVIC code of conduct, this is a breach of their code of ethics- Sales rep steve failed to provide information on the car, and pretty much ignored calls and texts, and would only responded to text to further delay the car. I called the dealership Jan 5th (18 weeks after my order was placed) and spoke to manager devin, to raise my concerns, devin spent the first 10 min of the call talking about how many sales their dealership had achieved and how many cars they had on order. He refused to acknowledge any lack of customer service, claiming I should consider myself lucky to have the sales manager and the regional manager involved in searching for my order, but still couldn't provide information on the whereabouts of the vehicle, a delivery date or even what the delay was. He refused to acknowledge that one of his sales staff promised a 6 week delivery date just to make a sale, and then ignored calls and texts. He also condescendingly suggested, that, if I'd like, he "would personally remind me every day that there was no update on the order", if that was what my problem was. When I said I would take my business to Subaru of Brampton devin claimed that Subaru of Brampton only cared about sales, and he could guarantee they would not provide the excellent customer care I was been given by his dealership (As frustrated as I was with the whole experience, this actually made laugh). devin also let it slip that they ordered my car on Oct 30th, 8 weeks after my deposit. This was also right after their false claim on their FB page that my car was ordered. And they still didn't refund my deposit even though they never actually ordered the car from the factory, claiming someone else had to take over my order....... Even though they never placed it! When I questioned devin about this, he claimed that each dealership can only order once a month, and when I reminded him that 8 weeks is not equal to 1 month, devin brushed it aside and resorted back to boasting about their sales achievements (still refusing to acknowledge that one of his sales staff promised delivery of a vehicle within 6 weeks, with no intention to order it until 8 weeks later). Seems like a shady practice. With no amicable solution offered, I took my business to Subaru of Hamilton, where I was kept updated and had the keys to a brand new vehicle handed over in less than 2 weeks.

If i could give this place a NEGATIVE then they'd be given a -5 star review…read more This is now the second time you writing this review because the first time I wrote it the owner of the dealership blatantly lied. This is absolutely deplorable and just goes to show the true Integrity of this horrible dealership and management they have in place. Bad workers come from bad managers. Absolutely deplorable customer service in the service department from Jay (service Manager) and Terry Lynn. Shame. I brought my vehicle in for service for my 9am appointment and had my 3-year-old daughter with me at the time. Terry lynn sat there and just ignored me as I'm standing right in front of her for what seemed like 10 minutes. She did finally acknowledge me and we spoke briefly until she decided to take a long phone call again while im still in front of her. Not only did I get the vehicle back a couple of hours later but the vehicle is not repaired so now they are just referring me to their body shop which I asked if it was a body shop issue in the first place and they said NO, so now of course they want to transfer me to somebody else and give it to somebody else's problem. When I talked to the supervisor there about Terry Lynn's behavior, he said if I don't like her then all I have to do is go to a different dealership for feeling disrespected. So obviously this dealership doesn't really care about their customers they only want people who they feel like they can disrespect and therefore move on. I've already filed a formal complaint with GM and a formal complaint with omvic because the level of service that these people give is absolutely horrible After following up with Jeremy the general manager of the dealership. He proceeded to lie to me on a recorded phone call telling me how I was cursing and yelling in front of my own child. While I do acknowledge i was upset I DID NOT do what he claimed yet telling true character of those involved. Worst part is MY VEHICLE STILL ISN'T FIXED.

I tried to get the answer to one simple question - did a car on their lot have blindspot monitoring. Their AI Chabot Brittany was just determined to get my contact information. When I provided all my trade in info, I told "her" I could drive out to the dealership ASAP, she hemmed and hawed and stalled with a DOA reply, "Are you still with me?" Realizing that the Chabot was dead, I left a message and got an email from a sales rep who said he wasn't available for a couple days but I could go to the dealership earlier if I wanted. Again, I tried to make an appt with Chabot Brittany. No luck. I called the dealership and spoke to Mark. He seemed irritated that I wanted to book an evening appointment, but I told him I was very interested in the car IF it had blindspot monitoring. Mark replied, "Yes, the car had blindspot monitoring." So I made an appt, went to the dealership, to find Mark - maskless - chatting away. I went to the waiting area, and he came in to tell me that, No, actually the car did not have blind spot monitoring. No apologies for wasting my time. Since I made the drive there, I asked him to recommend any other car - I wanted a large or midsized sedan, and he was completely uninterested, half-heartedly suggesting a Sonata. I was telling him about the Chabot problems on their web site when he just grew bored - again, another missed opportunity to apologize for wasting a potential customer's time. I mean, seriously, when I am asking a car sales rep to suggest a car for me to buy, that is what sales types would call "a really good lead." But it seemed obvious that Mark was not interested. Is that award-winning service?

During negotiations, I was blatantly lied to by the salesperson, and ended up having to pay more when I finally received the vehicle. However, I am going to skip past that part, and jump right to my more recent problem. My first winter with the car, I start having issues with the battery. The car won't start at all. No dashboard lights, no power locks, the car is completely dead. The Prius Prime has two batteries, one for electric driving, and a smaller 12V auxiliary battery that is used for all of the electronics in the car. The battery that is not working is the auxiliary battery. I manage to get a jump start from another vehicle, and brought the car back to Performance Toyota. I informed the dealership that my battery isn't just dead, but that something must be draining it while the car is idle. I also had other computer issues, such as sensors misreading, so I asked them to look into potential other electric problems. The dealership informed me that they would replace the battery under warranty, but that all of the other issues are just "normal Prius things". After the replacement, everything seemed great. Which brings to now, Jan 2026, and I am once again having issues with the battery. The car won't turn on at all. I manage to get the car back to Performance Toyota, and in my head I was thinking, "this time they will definitely look into the underlying electrical issue". I was dead wrong. This time, the dealership refused to do the warranty replacement, and instead blamed me for the issues. They said that "I don't drive the car enough" (9500 km in two years). I asked them to provide documentation that shows I need to drive a minimum amount in order to maintain my warrantee, but they failed to provide any. They said that I leave the car sitting for too long, and that I need to purchase a battery maintainer. When I asked "What battery maintainer does Toyota recommend?", I was told, "There is no recommendation". When I asked how long I could expect to not use the car and still expect it to work", they failed to provide an answer. When I asked why I wasn't told about any of this when I purchased the vehicle, they just deferred blame to the sales department. I then had questions about connecting a battery maintainer to a 2024 Prius Prime (it's complicated because the battery is in the trunk, but the trunk won't open when the battery is dead). The service department couldn't give me an answer, and failed to provide any help/guidance for using a battery maintainer. I reached out to Toyota corporate to get some answers to these questions, but they just said that they trust the dealerships judgement and didn't provide me with any useful information. The dealership quoted me $350 to replace the battery. They refused to look into any other issues on the vehicle until I agreed to the battery replacement, to which I told them I don't want to give them any more money. I was able to jump start the car to get it home. Now, I have a car that won't start and is completely unusable. Performance Toyota won't provide any help or assistance to make the car usable again. They accept zero responsibility for any of this, and won't even acknowledge that they car is broken. I was told multiple times that this is all expected behavior from this type of vehicle. According to the dealership, I have to dive [an unspecified number] of km/year, and use the car every [unspecified] number of days, and buy an [unspecified device] to maintain the battery, which I need to install myself with no instructions/guidance. And, if I don't do any of this, it's my fault because the car is working exactly as expected. If you must purchase a vehicle, I recommend that you avoid Toyota If you must purchase a Toyota, I recommended that you avoid Performance Toyota in St Catharines.

I will start by saying the some of the required repairs were completed, however the wipers didn't work properly on the car and after trying to get them to fix it 4 times, I took the car elsewhere for the fifth attempt and it is now fixed. They went so far to get out of repairing the wipers as to tell me that I had to clean the new wipers and give them a week to "break-in". Absurd. They tried 3 sets of wipers and bending the wiper arm twice with no success. In addition, they never took the car for a test drive, neither before or after they balanced the tires to take away the vibration at highway speeds. I was rushed in and out. The last time I took the car in for repairs (my third visit), one of the promises that I was told would be taken care before I picked the car up on July 12th, was finally done that day, on Aug 19th. The last time I took the car in I called that morning and was told to bring the car in at 2pm. I arrived and had to wait for almost 45 minutes before they worked on the car, as they had to have their lunch first. After another 45 minutes, I was told that the car was ready, the wipers work fine and didn't need to be fixed. I had been told that they would swap another wiper arm off another vehicle on the lot to fix it (they wouldn't even provide a new part), and it wasn't done. I have given up!

He turned to me because I know a lot about cars and he trusts my opinion. A few months ago, used cars were in short supply. Now, there is plenty of inventory. My friend did not want to purchase from an individual owner because he worried that if something went wrong with the car right away, he would have no recourse. I thought that was smart of him. My friend spent hours searching the internet for a car. He lives in Lockport and works in Tonawanda, and wanted a Subaru or other 4wd car to make things safe for his commute. Another smart choice on his part. We went to two Lockport car dealers and test drove 4 cars there. Then I drove him to TwinTon. My friend had found a Subaru and a Toyota, both 5-speed cars, which he wanted. We were greeted by one of the two brothers who have taken over this very long-standing dealership. Chris was our sales person. He let my friend test drive both cars he was interested in. Both were excellent, but the Subaru was the winner. It had brand new struts, rode like a dream, and had lots of power. The asking price was very close to the Kelly Blue Book value, which seemed reasonable. There was some heavy wear and tear on the driver's seat, for which we asked for a little better deal. Chris agreed. Chris made sure the car was clean and had a missing fender liner installed as we waited. They took care of registering and inspection right there on the spot. No financing was involved. The entire transaction went smoothly. There's a 30-day 1,000 mile warranty. It's been almost a month, and so far no major glitches. My friend absolutely loves his new car. I don't think we could have asked for a smoother, nicer transaction. BTW, the dealership is now run by two very nice brothers and their mom. Their grandfather was there, too.
