On 11/10/25, I was referred to HelloTech by Xfinity for an in-wall cable run and scheduled service for 11/12/25. The technician arrived, began work, then said he needed to leave to get a part and would return later that day. He never came back. When I called HelloTech, I was transferred to the technician, who said he was on another job and would not be returning. I called HelloTech to reschedule and requested a different tech, but they sent the same one. During the second visit, the technician removed my attic access hatch, cut a hole for the outlet, and damaged drywall and paint in multiple areas. He also damaged the attic access door. Shortly after, he began packing up and said he had to abandon the job because he was "not qualified" to do cable runs. When I pointed out the damage, he apologized but said there was nothing he could do. He tried to cover the paint damage by brushing over it, leaving paint streaks and drips down the wall and onto the floor. The drywall hole he cut was left unfinished with plaster dust everywhere. When I contacted HelloTech asking to speak with a manager, I was told I didn't need to and should just submit a claim. I filed the claim, but the response said it could take up to two business days for someone to contact me. That is unacceptable given the property damage and unprofessional service. I am requesting that HelloTech contact me immediately and reimburse me for the cost to repair the drywall, paint, and attic access damage caused by their technician.

I explained the problem to Dmitri, and showed him the issue at hand. He was confident that he could fix the major mess, and quickly went to diagnosis the problem. He was completely professional and worked diligently. Considering I had been without internet and dealing with this problem for some time I was happy to have someone attend to it. I'll admit it felt kind of touch and go there as we both put our heads together for a solution, and then he reached out to his boss and another network tech, and a little light bulb went off over his head and then he really went into a flurry of work. All in all in less than an hour, Dmitri had fixed a major headache of mine. He did it professionally, and with a problem-solving determination. I would definitely use this service again (but will hopefully never end up in this predicament again.)

The technician diagnosed the problem as a defective screen and insinuates that I might have dropped the computer or spilled liquid on it ! How can a brand new screen go bad after 10 months unless it was a recycled or generic one yet charging brand name price ? Sorry to have tried to support a local business.
