Absolutely terrible experience. One of the least professional companies I have ever dealt with. Nothing was installed properly. Light switches, projector, projector screen, doorbell intercom system; everything was screwed up. The kicker was they got plaster on the projector screen during the installation. Have not repaired or replaced it. Stopped responding to emails and the job wasn't even finished. Unbelievable. I would not recommend these guys for anything. read more

Very professional and pleasant. The company is pretty responsive and clear. Overall a good experience although they left the card reader so I had to go downstairs to withdraw cash. Amazing service. Purchased my TV installation for a 40" Samsung through Amazon. The service was timely and professional. They provided their own wall mount for me even though I had one of my own. Also included an HDMI cable for me. Twas a a nice gesture. I was a little apprehensive of them drilling so many holes because I was just expecting them to cover my cords instead of hiding them in the wall. But the installer mentioned they would be able to patch up the holes for me if my building super gave me any problems or extra fees. Not sure if this service was complimentary though. Overall, everything looks super clean, and I had a great experience. I'd book them again for when I move apartments in a year or so. read more

Dan and Daniel showed up on time and did an incredible install. Good service is hard to find, they were the 3rd different 4-5 star company I called, the prior 2 that arrived at my house did not have the right tools and one came solo, tough to hang a 65 inch tv by yourself. None of the others displayed confidence they could hang the tv on a very thin (2 inches thick) plaster wall. The others wanted to go fully through the wall to anchor and hide the anchors that would be in my bedroom with a mirror. One of the 'other' guy's first drill hole went through the wall completely so now I have to Spackle and repaint my bedroom wall which was just painted. Dan and Daniel walked in, immediately took off their shoes, confidently said hanging the tv would be no issue. 4 bolts later, tv and sonos playbar perfectly mounted and centered. They also helped my indecisiveness by providing advice on best way to proceed to hide wires etc. You get what you pay for. I will use DTV for all future installations, especially if I ever buy a house, etc. Great job and thank you. read more

These guys are the best! I called today and spoke to John, the owner. I told him that I am moving from my apartment on Monday and really needed my TV mount removed today. He told me he would call me back after speaking to his technician. Sure enough I get a phone call back 10 minutes later setting up an appointment for an hour later! Sean met me outside of my apartment in Murray Hill. He brought everything that was needed and took down my TV easily! He made sure to wrap the correct wires I needed and ones I could leave. It only took him 20 minutes. He threw everything out after he was finished and was on his way. I needed to write a review for DTV because they were professional, kind and timely. Let me first start off by saying "wow!" From the moment the two workers (Dan and Dan) walked into the house they were extremely friendly and professional. We contracted DTV to install three televisions and shelving. We were on the fence about having the fourth mounted, but by the completion of the first one our mind was made up that we wanted to go through with the installation of the fourth. Dan and Dan worked extremely well together, from the way they mounted the televisions, set up the plastic for the dust particles, and cleanup. They even offered to reorganize the furniture in the rooms that they were mounting the televisions. DTV is great company from start to finish, always very punctual with the appointments, always answering the phone calls. John came over to my apartment provided free written estimate, and did free consultation. After that they worked with our budget and needs, and revise the estimate couple times. They supplied all of the equipment much less expensive then any big buck store, delivered it for free and did professional installation with one year warranty. I had great experience with DTV Installation. I had them install two plasmas for me, I only had one mount but they sold me another one. All the wiring was done great, hidden in the wall or behind the moldings. The also installed in-wall speakers and they did a good job, so I don't have to repaint the walls. They do over-the-weekend installations which is very convenient and also the contractor called me when he was on his way. They made sure mounts, tv and all the speakers work properly and cleaned after they were done. They were friendly and helped me hooking up all the additional hardware I had (Chromecast, PlayStation and a Network Hard Drive). They also helped me configure TV settings to get the best out of it. DTV did my initial smaller job in Hoboken in 2012, and I chose them again in 2019 when I moved to a bigger place also in Hoboken. They seem to have grown, and it worked well because they had a good size team of 3 come to do a decent size home audio/video project, including mounting tv flush against limestone wall, in-ceiling speakers, in-wall sub, outdoor speakers, all connected to a media center within a closet with a few different components including sonos, receiver, xbox and more. They worked hard and professionally, spending 2 days, and had a follow on visit to change to a different remote that I preferred. Only recommendation is to ensure that your project scope is clearly aligned with them (or any other home contractors for that matter) when your project is complex and has nuances. Will use them again whenever we move again. read more

Very impressive service. I hired them to mount a couple of TVs and speakers for a home theatre system and they did a great job as well as being a pleasure to work with. I can't say enough positive things about DTV. All the other positive reviews here echo my sentiments. I did a gut renovation of a townhouse in Brooklyn that took 10 months. DTV was present when the walls were open to run all the cable and wiring, came back a few months later to add all the components and came back again to meet the Verizon tech to make sure he did the job right! I have rarely worked with a contractor that I would recommend so strongly. Any audio visual or home automation or security jobs are totally in these guys' wheelhouse. DTV Installations went above and beyond with helping me mount my 42 inch TV. They came on time and called me before they arrived. The technicians name was Igor and he was unbelievable; he did everything in a clean and efficient manner and was extremely careful that everything was done right. I was apprehensive about asking anyone to fix my stereo system--the lot who set up my sound system originally sneered at the simplicity of my old equipment, felt it all a bit beneath them, did the work grudgingly.
